By all measures, he's a good qb. Try again.

Some of his decisions are head scratchers like refusing to play mason more or refusing to focus on getting a better Oline, but overall very good. This year is just a bad luck year. Who the hell saw the whole damn team getting hurt coming? Getting rid of Purdy or Shanahan would be dumb. Especially if no one better is available.
I hope neither gets scapegoated for this season because I’m actually really interested in the evolution of Shanahan and Purdy as a collaborative coach/QB dynamic. Obviously Purdy’s career isn’t remotely close to what it used to be without Kyle in all the ways we know but years of watching Shanahan I think he is a better coach because of Purdy too. Kyle lives and dies by his game script it’s why he was 0-30 when trailing they always pull that stat up when the Niners are down. But Purdy plays his best ball when his back is against the wall and the play breaks down. Kyle needed that level of chaos in his play designs there’s a reason the QB that helped Kyle break his can’t play from behind accusations is Brock. They went from Kyle freaking out at Purdy scoring a TD in a shootout against the Raiders his rookie year instead of following the play to missing one of Purdy’s best plays in the NFCCG because he thought a play was dead getting ready for his next play call only to see Purdy get a pass off to Juice to now really relying on Brock with his game plans not working as well this season with all their personal issues to keep plays alive there’s a reason most of the 49ers red zone TDs this year are Purdy improvising. Brock adjusts even when Kyle can’t and I really want to see that dynamic mature with a healthy team

He lacks intangibles. You know who has those? Joshua Dobbs. Jordan Mason was the best rusher in the leauge until CMC came back. Yet he barely sees the field now. No adjustments no recognition of when to play the hot hand. The problem is not Purdy. The problem is Shanascam does not make adjustments based on how the game is being played.
