- Bull rider J.B. Mauney won more money than anyone in rodeo history. Now he's retired after a bull broke his neck, nearly killing him. He talked with WFAA about retirement, his decorated career and what's next for him.

I raced motorcycles, and people said the same thing. My orthopedic doctor said some people are in just as bad as me and never did anything. You are a champion and did what you love. My hats off to you.

I'm 50 years old and I wrecked the car a year ago and I have a traumatic brain injury. I'll take it as it comes. God has blessed me in my life as long as I've lived it. I hope not, but he could take it away tomorrow I would be okay with that. I had plenty of good times. I squeezed a lot into this past 50 years. You would be surprised how much I have squeezed in I've lived the life of three men when it comes down to it

I grew up racing moto and used to think all injury stories were cool, until the pain kicks Just understand these sports are dangerous, come with unlimited risk and ultimately the pain lasts your entire life.

Great attitude, but man, im 68 and in fantsstic shape. I still race competitively and hit the weights. Most people think im forty-five or fity years old. The thing is that no matter how great a shape you're in the older you get, the more pain visits you from the way you lived your life years earlier. My boxing, football, work, etc, now makes me pay years later. Good luck, young man. Our greatest battle is against father time.
