- Back in 1969 I had been working at Woodland sound for only a few months when Buddy Killen decided to start using me on his overdub and mixing sessions. Not long after that I guess he trusted me enough to actually start doing some lightweight demo sessions for him. But I'll never forget the day he came in and announced that we were going to be cutting an album on Jack Palance, the famous movie villian. I didn't even know he could sing! As it turned out he a pretty fair voice.
When the time came I'm sure I was a nervous wreck although I can't really remember. All the A-Team players were there(at least the ones that were A-Team at the time). As I recall we recorded everything at one time, voices and strings included
In listening to it now, of course, there things I would do differently but all in all, I guess it's not too bad for a beginner. :o)
👍👍🍻
I have the album "Palance" I like the way he sang the first cut. "Brother River"

Jack was a pleasure to work with in the studio. A very humble man that was very nice to this young novice engineer.
Unlike some other Hollywood "stars" is worked with, Jack had a pretty good voice...trained for Broadway theatre.
tarantino missed a trick of not putting this in one of films
Never thought of that ACNA1 but you're exactly right.
