    Impressive work for a rookie artist. You did an amazing job on Laura Blade's Eagle. It's kind of you to put much time and effort into making it for her!

    What a wonderful piece you have done. You must be so happy that you were able to bring a beautiful piece of art like that into the world. It will certainly be loved by whoever hangs it on their wall. Plus love the subject matter. Just guessing, but I bet your talent could be applied to silver by making a small piece and pressing into delft. Just one more idea for you. Thanks so much for sharing, and let me know if/when you start taking orders. Take care, LL

    • @aprilg5222
      @aprilg5222  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you LL, I'm my biggest critic and it was tough but very fun. I'm not going to try anything with silver right now. It may be interesting to do though, maybe even with a drimmel. I do have two other projects that will be going out to people on yt but when I'm done with that. I will PM you. I know you like those boxes :) Take care my friend

    • @losinglouie
      @losinglouie 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's sweet. You know, I would never recommend you carve in graphite. That's just too dangerous in my opinion. What I was meaning was that you could press your work into delft clay, and it would make a duplicate reversed silver imprint. However, it would need to be small. That way you would have a personal channel logo bar. If you need someone to pour, I'm always available for a friend. Take care, LL

    • @aprilg5222
      @aprilg5222  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a wonderful idea. I must have read the comment late at night before ;) If I ever do a channel bar, I'll let you know. Thanks LL

    In days gone by it was called poker work. It is a thing of patience and beauty. I saw Lauras and it is wonderful.I have no idea but you may find a bit harder wood like pine a bit more forgiving but really no idea. I just plain love what you're up to.

    • @aprilg5222
      @aprilg5222  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've got to google poker work now and see what images I can find. I have some other wood here to try on and will be making swatches so I know how it will look. Thank you so much Dean

    Awesome job right there!!! I have done some woodburning! I have an expensive wood burner! Has several different tips! It has a dail for the heat! You can make it red hot i seconds, then turn it off & it's cool in seconds so you can change the tip! STB.

      Thank you Burnie. I could really pick your brain then. I'm not sure which machine I want to get. I've narrowed it down to razertip or Optima 1. There are reasons why I like and dislike both. Have you used either one of these? and why dont you show your work? I'd love to see some. Take care

    • @Silvertoburn
      @Silvertoburn 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lol, now you want to see them! I just packed everything up because i'm moving this spring! I'm not sure of the name of mine! Maybe I can find it! I'm not any better than you, you did a great job! I haven't done it in a while!

      Lol, If you promiss not to laugh mine are mostly just lines! It takes a while to learn how but when you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy! The shading that's where it takes tallant! By for now.

    • @aprilg5222
      @aprilg5222  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep my 3rd, I just started burning when I made Silver Hippies plaque. The smell of the burning is amazing. I just got to make sure the wood I use is a soft untreated wood. My hubby was listening with me to your livestream the other night when you mentioned this piece. Now every time I read a comment out loud he quotes what you said "She has mad skills yo" lol

    • @aprilg5222

      Yes but I have a lot to learn still, there are wood burners out there that make mine look like toddler scribbling. Thank you very much Mimaroo
