This is so helpful - thank you! The instructions that came with the chart are a little sparse. Can't wait to use mine :)

    Hi MIchelle,
I'm the president at David Chandler Company, Inc., the publishers of The Night Sky planisphere. We have yet to make our own "how to" video. I was looking for one that would be helpful to introduce folks and yours is a good introduction. Thank you.
I also wanted to let you know that we do have a 50-60 latitude planisphere available along with many other latitudes. You can find them all at our website www.davidchandler.com
    Keep looking up!

Your welcome... I teach online astronomy at the Prince William Sound College in Valdez, Alaska. I send one of these in the lab kit and sometimes I can get the 40-50 degree ones. What is the best way to purchase the 50 to 60-degree charts for Alaska?

@@godsbeautifulflatearth No it doesn't, proves a round Earth, but I doubt you're smart enough to know why and I'm not casting my pearls before swine.

Hi. Can you use the planisphere to estimate the degrees of altitude of a celestial body?

1:04 "We're going to use a 40 - 50 degrees" - then you actually end up using a 30 - 40 degrees? Why? Thank you! Love the video!

what does the angle denote in the planisphere????????

The numbers on the top of the Planisphere are the optional range of viewing from your latitude. It also is the angle of the pole star, Polaris from the North horizon to the star.
