This is a fabulous overview of this machine. I have one that I bought and used quickly to complete a quilt - months ago. Just got it back out of the box and set it up. Your review of the features was so very professionally done ~ I thank you so very much!!!
Great presentation of a great machine! I just purchased the prior machine and have completed my first project. The machine’s performance was flawless. The machine NEVER jammed and its automatic tension adjustment was amazing. My project went from very thick outer fabric to very thin lining and it was flawless without even needing the dual feed foot. The auto pivot, laser guide, extra harp space, auto threader were all amazing. The buttons on front are so very convenient and the machine is simply beautiful. My next project has some fussiness but I’m looking forward to using the pen and dual feed on this project. There is simply NO dread at trying to figure out how to use anything. My last machine (different brand) was excellent, but extremely fussy, especially the bobbin. Being able to go through an entire project without one bobbin issue has returned the joy to sewing.
You are the best! I just purchased this wonderful machine, but it's such an upgrade that have been nervous to it. I appreciate your pace and thoroughness. Truly grateful for your video!
I bought the BQ2500 and would love alot more videos on the machine or the 3100 which seems close to mind but not many videos telling alot about different things
Hi Linda, here is a link to a brochure which outlines the differences between the two machines: www.echidnasewing.com.au/assets/brochures/BQ3100.pdf Hopefully this will help you further when looking for information on your machine. If you are still unsure, please contact us and we will try to help.
I sold my Janome 9450 last August and bought this machine. I absolutely LOVE this machine, but I can't get the Pocket tab to save my stitches. I didn't see any info in this video but maybe I missed it on how to save stitches. I used my manual (even though I didn't really need to because this machine is so intuitive) and followed the directions but it won't save my stitches. I'm a quilter so I use 1/4" setting most of the time. I go into the "Q" setting and select #02 (needle to the right) and then select the Pocket and then tap Memory and Close. When I go back into the Pocket and tap Retrieve, there is nothing there. Am I doing something wrong?
Hi @colleenbaker2310 - if you have saved to the pocket, yes you should be able to retrieve the settings. Did you purchase your machine through us? We are happy to have a chat with you over the phone to help resolve it if we can. Our phone number is 1800 000 360
Is this comparable to the Janome 9450QCP in features and price? I've been trying to trade my Janome for a Brother or Baby Lock but my local dealer (where I bought the Janome) will not do a trade. I've only had it since May and I'm just not a Janome gal. I've always had Brother's or Baby Locks.
Hi Colleen, there are a few differences that would be a benefit to you. The screen is slightly larger, comes with the sonic pen for stitch adjustment, easy to use and has loads of extras that come standard with the machine. We would love to have a chat with you if you would like to call us on 1800 000 360.
Hi Colleen, I also have the Janome 9450, I have not been happy with it. My husband got me the Brother 3100, have not been able to try the Brother yet. But I know I will love her cause I love Brother machines.
Hi there, Both Janome and Brother are renowned Japanese sewing machine manufacturers, each with its own strengths in terms of build quality and performance. The choice between them often comes down to personal preferences and specific needs. Janome has a reputation for its robust build quality, durability, and precision. On the other hand, Brother is also highly respected for its quality and innovation. Brother sewing machines are known for their user-friendly features and ease of use. They often include advanced technology and are favored by those who prioritize modern conveniences. When deciding between Janome and Brother, it's important to consider your individual requirements. Think about the type of sewing you plan to do, your skill level, and any specific features you might need.
@EchidnaClub Thank you! I'm interested in the stellaire XE2 for the embroidery, but I was looking for a sewing machine, to gift, close for features to the stellaire XJ1/2 and I think this is a good compromise.

I was wondering if the belt would break on the movit foot can it be replaced?
@lindadenton7431 We have never had this happen tbh and yes you can get it replaced :)
Hi can you use the laser with the dynamic walking foot to stitch in the ditch on a quilt? Thank you
Yes you most definitely can :)
Would you say brother is built as well as Janome?
Hi there,
Both Janome and Brother are renowned Japanese sewing machine manufacturers, each with its own strengths in terms of build quality and performance.
What is that thing that's plugged into the right side of the machine?
That is the Ultra Sonic Pen which is used for placement and precise positioning. Great tool to use on the machine.
Do you happen to know if this is dual voltage?
No this machine is set to Australian standards with voltage.
Hello, is this the equivalent of the VQ4 model? If not, how can i find this one in the EU market? Thank you
@saral2067 Yes you are correct! Great machine to use with great features!
@EchidnaClub Thank you! I'm interested in the stellaire XE2 for the embroidery, but I was looking for a sewing machine, to gift, close for features to the stellaire XJ1/2 and I think this is a good compromise.
@saral2067 This machine has most of the same features of the XJ with a few extras as well. You won't be disappointed.
@EchidnaClub Thank you so much, I appreciate!
@saral2067 You are very welcome!
Is this the same as babylock chorus?
It is a very similar machine but not exactly the same.
