Conqueror has some great songs -- Blooming, Rinne (Reincarnation), Wonderland -- and the recent Unleash EP is great -- From Now On, Corallium, Influencer, Hate? But Unseen World is unsurpassed as an album. Warning!, Sayonakidori, Why Why Why, Giovanni, I Still Seek Revenge, Manners, Black Hole, No God, Without Holding Back. It's one of those very special albums where the creative genius of the band cannot be contained.
Well it seems like we shall be revisiting this album in the near future then 👀 This is my favorite thing about doing these reactions is finding new music that may not have come up otherwise.
When "unseen world" was released, I listened to it at least once a day (many times two or three listens per day) for over a year. I still listen to it about twice a week. I have been listening to rock music since the late '70s, and "unseen world" is my favorite album of all time.
I did get the instrumental album of Unseen World a few weeks ago and it is sick. Almost a completely different album.
I want that! The instrumental No God video is spellbinding.
True....but New Begining is still my Number 1 BM album with Conqueror not far behind.
Same album Warning is on - WHY WHY WHY (live on-line video). BAND-MAID just about does it all. Thank you for your reaction.
I haven't heard them live yet so im excited to listen to that, I'll add it to my list! Thanks for the request! Arigatooo!
I like Band-Maid's newer stuff and older stuff better, plus all of the stuff in-between.
Thanks for coming back to the Maids! 🍺😁
You're welcome man, and thanks again for the request!
I didn't even know i'd gone away but thx for requesting "Warning", Roger :)
@@GaryHolloway-810 Welcome back Gary! 🍺😃
They are beasts live, you have a lot of incredible live shows to catch up on which they have either released as Blu -Rays or live streamed. One other piece of information which is worth knowing is that Saiki's voice was going from all the intense work and she suffered for 2 years before eventually getting vocal chord surgery to remove polyps in 2017. She has got better and better every year since.
Love to hear of the greater comebacks after a large setback like that! From what I've heard i can tell she's got a fantastic voice, looking forward to hearing more! Is there any particular live song i should checkout first?
@@SolitudeSorrowMusic All of them is the correct answer - Puzzle, Hate?, Manners/Black Hole, Domination, No God, Don't You Tell Me, Endless Story, Freedom - as a start
@@SolitudeSorrowMusic There is a series of mini documentaries of each band member. At the youtube channel of Ohrenje. Pro quality and lots of background. One segment for Saiki shows the changes in her voice over the years. The 4 recent vids from the Yokohama concert show her current vocal abilities. Wonderland, live, is a showcase for her.
Shout out to you Roger Chance! I love bandmaid! Have watched probably 30 reactors watching bandmaid 4the first time and every one of them loved it! True bandmaid fan you are!😉❤️💯👍🤘🤘
I love their first album as much as their last album. However my all time favourite album of theirs is "Just Bring It".
First album of theirs I ever heard when it was given to me by a friend who thought I'd like it. Turns out they knew me down to a tee.
@@Lillywhite Now, that is a good friend!
Hey Solitude & Sorrow !
Good to get you back on track with Band-Maid !
Heyo! It's good to be back!
Roger does it again!!!!! Roger, you're the man! Guys, "Warning" is an absolute banger. There are a lot of great bands in Japan and Band-Maid is one of the best. They are so high energy that you have to catch your breath after many of their songs and then after 2 1/2 hours of their concerts. You must see the live to see what I mean. We Maidiacs can keep making suggestions for more of their songs if you want us to.
Absolutely keep those requests comin! After what everyone's said, there's a lot of gold i have yet to dig up with this band. FULL SEND!
@@SolitudeSorrowMusic One reactor just picked at random from their YT page, that worked too.
I discovered Band-Maid right before Unseen World (where this song is on) was released in 2021. I was already sold on the band before, but this album cemented B-M as my favorite band. That album is pure intensity. It is actually fatiguing listening to it, but it is just so good. I love a good wall of sound and UW brings it from beginning until the end. The album closer, Black Hole, is their fastest yet. 220 BPM, and Akane the drummer absolutely punishes her drumset the entire song.
Based on the comments, it seems that the general consensus is that this is everyone's favorite album, or at least the majorities favorite. Looking forward to checking more of it out, and Black Hole well, seems like that'll be a new reaction video in the near future 👀
This is from their SEVENTH album of eight. Lots to catch up on. To me, the two most recent albums (new record label) show signs of greater artist independence. Their walk on music was always heavier than anything on their setlist until this album, which indicates to me that this is where they always intended to go, minus record company posturing.
Can agree that there's been lots of great music to release from bands after becoming independent or leaving certain labels. I'm really interested in hearing more from this album as well as the newer stuff from the latest album. Also i believe i said this was from their 6th album, so close haha.
IMHO I like all the songs band maid wrote and most of those written for them. Unseen World is a gem. Fastest song is Black Hole. The whole album is great.

*Real Existence Live (Apr. 13th, 2018)*
*BAND-MAID / Don't you tell ME (Official Live Video)*
I discovered *BAND-MAID* in 2019 and came to a realization that *BAND-MAID* more then just a rock band they are a band that does not have any boundaries and is willing experiment into different genre from (Blues, Rock, Punk and Jazz) and a lot of fans including me would say “you got to check out their live videos” from:

In the end I realize that *BAND-MAID* more then just a band but a band that cares about each other and their fan base and in October of 2022 I had a fortune of experiencing them live and with that *BAND-MAID* cemented their Legacy into my heart. Rock On! 🤘

I feel like i just read a commercial script. 😂 Assuming the tracks above our requests though, I'll add em to the list!
@@SolitudeSorrowMusic Got some swamp land in Florida if interested 🤣
@bm4-life743 i live in Arizona so its hot enough as is, i want more cool air haha.
@@SolitudeSorrowMusic Nice I was in Phoenix to see *BAND-MAID* in 2022 🤘😆
@bm4-life743 oh snap fr? well perhaps if they come back here soon we'll run into each other haha
It's all friggin awesome!
Cool that you're back for more Band-Maid. Their evolution has been pretty mind-blowing. Basically, because they got full creative control with Just Bring It and never looked back. Which isn't to say I don't like the first three, not at all, but I LOVE the next four (plus the Unleash EP after that).
MISA MISA MISA!!!!! ALL their stuff is TOP tier by the way this song is off the 7th album "Unseen World"
Welcome to Maid`s music world!
Thanks so much nice reaction!
I hope you`ll enjoy their music!
If what I've heard so far is any indication, I'll be very much enjoying it haha, cheers!
Thanks !
From Just Bring It (2017) - album 4 - they effectively took over the composing and writing the lyrics into their own hands rather than have writers from their management providing them with songs as it was for their first 3 EP's ( mini albums). Their own work is more complex, more varied and has rockier and heavier songs and with a few exceptions all far superior. Album number 6, Conqueror is my favourite by a hairs breadth but everything from Just Bring It is superb. You've probably not heard Band Maiko ( their alter ego) or their acoustic stuff either which are also A1 and they've got a new (superior) band logo.
Yeah when it comes to these gals, i haven't really seen or heard much of them until maybe last month or March, so anything they're doing on the side, ive got no idea of but im excited to check that out at some point, more music for the long haul!
@@SolitudeSorrowMusic I forgot to mention Miku's solo project as Cluppo - it's more pop, Voice, Peace and Love are my 2 favourites
Of course this is your favorite Band-Maid song😉
It could change in time ahaha, we'll have to wait and see!
@@SolitudeSorrowMusic Haven't you heard? Your favorite Band-Maid song is the last one you listened to.😂
ah, of course! silly me 😆
@@SolitudeSorrowMusic It's a meme, but it holds true a lot of the time. Their music is very dense with interesting writing decisions, and cool little touches, so the more you listen to each song, the more details you pick up on. So the more you listen, the more you appreciate each song, which is going to shift your rankings around.
Personally, my favorite stuff is their newer stuff, but it's a trade off. I think as they get better, their inclination is to pack more into each song, and it makes it rewarding to listen to many times, but it makes it less approachable on the first listen. It can feel like too much.
If you like Warning, it's the opening track to Unseen World, and if you like this one, chances are you'll enjoy the whole album.
Well if you're asking for more BAND-MAID (& why wouldn't you) then can i suggest "Hate?" live from Yokohama next. You will? thx.😃
It appears the decision was made for me ahaha. but yeah absolutely I'll chuck it in the list, thanks for droppin in the video!
@@SolitudeSorrowMusic Very cool, cheers.👍
👍🔥🤟🙏
A huge shoutout to Roger for spreading the good word. Thanks for the reaction and comments. These ladies are FIRE!!!!! You may want to check out some of their recently release official live videos. They don't disappoint. Cheers!
"Best" is such a loaded term. It is my favorite song from them and has been since it was released. I'm learning it on bass right now and SON OF A B.... it's a challenge. I can play fast, and I can play busy but busy AND fast is crazy and this is what Warning! is.
I'm kinda using that term in this case because it's my favorite song thus far (also gets the people talkin haha). Also yeah, hearing the song it feels a lot more note heavy then what ive heard before, and i dig it. Keep practicing though, you'll get it! Also i know this is a little forward but, we need a bassist at Solitude & Sorrow. idk if you're already in a band or are even interested in joining one but, just putting it out there! 👀
@@SolitudeSorrowMusic HA! Thanks but I'm a 53 year old cop in So Cal. My active band days ended back around 2003. Plus, I'm mainly a guitarist but F'ing around with the bass for fun. As for the song, it comes in at 193 BPM and MISA plays quarter notes almost non stop. With the exception of the verse riff, she RARELY stays on the same note longer than one measure. SUPER BUSY! ✌
@sjnix7044 Ay, it was worth a shot, haha, and yeah, she did a phenomenal job. If this is the kind of thing i can expect moving forward, then I'm really excited to check out other songs! Also respect to the uniform man, keep doin' what you're doing! Cheers!
They have come a million miles since the first 3 albums as you can see/hear. The Unseen World album 2021, is a masterpiece of rock/hard rock/metal as you can hear from this, but there is also some crazy genius stuff to be found on it too. Generally older albums- are pop/punk-ish/rock. Later albums are more rock/hard rock/metal. But they often throw in the odd ball just to keep you on your toes. Try Manners/Black Hole Official Live Video, both from the album but so different.
The last one, is always the Best, hence Bestie, even they know this.
Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, Just Bring It... all of my favs
Older or newer? Yes to both.
Band-Maid has the amazing ability to make the last song you heard from them be "Your Favorite". Their albums are consistently good. I have a CD of 'Just Bring It in one car and their "10th anniversary best" in another. I think of all their albums as 'developmental' since they grow creatively with each release. Whenever I play one of their CDs I find that I never skip songs, something I often will do with any other artist's CD; all their songs a worthy of a close listen. This is the only band whose output I will preorder the moment they announce it.
Among Maidiacs there are no Best Band-Maid Songs.
There are only your Favorite Band-Maid Songs.
Which are usually the Last Band-Maid Song You Listened To.
They all bounce around inside your head and you find yourself humming along to a song to which you may or may not remember its name.
WARNING is the opening track on UNSEEN WORLD, and serves to warn us that you’re no longer listening to your Dad’s BAND-MAID. I love all their music, but with UNSEEN WORLD and UNLEASH they take their songwriting to new levels and deliver a new sound that no longer draws so heavily from familiar genres but instead is uniquely BAND-MAID. Try the live double header of MANNERS, BLACK HOLE. The songs AFTER LIFE, SENSE, UNLEASH, and INFLUENCER all have great MVs, and FROM NOW ON is an amazing instrumental, while the single SHAMBLES is not to be missed. In all of these you’ll hear that the production of AKANE’s drums goes to a brutal new level.
Oh, and their collaboration with Mike Einziger produced BESTIE, which brings yet another brand-new sound, along with a refreshing new look.
I much prefer the more recent Band-Maid releases: World Domination, Conquerer, Unseen World, and Unleash.
Speaking of Warning (one of Band-Maid's top 100 songs!)... The Warning, a world-famous band from Mexico, and BAND-MAID will perform a dream two-band show! After meeting on our US tour in 2022, "The Warning" will be making their memorable first visit to Japan with BAND-MAID! Venue: EX THEATER RIPPONGI Date: Jun 12, 2024.
Plus… BAND-MAID released a new song, "Bestie," co-written with Mike Einziger of INCUBUS! The MV dropped May 1.
And… BAND-MAID HALL TOUR 2024 -- June 28, 2024 (Fri) Nagoya City Public Hall, Aichi, Japan -- July 5, 2024 (Fri) Osaka, Fenice Sakai Main Hall, -- July 14, 2024 (Sun) Kanagawa Kenmin Hall, Kanagawa -- July 21 OSAKA GIGANTIC MUSIC FESTIVAL 2024 -- Aug 16 RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL 2024 in EZO -- Aug 17 SUMMER SONIC 2024
But you may have already know this. ;-) Thx, Jacob!
🤘🤘🤘🎀🎀🎀🎀🎀🎀🔥🔥🔥
Just bring it〜Don't you tell me, Puzzle, Moratorium, etc…
World domination〜Domination, I can't live without you, Play, One and only, Dice, etc…
There is nothing that I dislike about theirs songs. 😃
For me, favorite album is World Domination.
Next: "Hate?" (Official Live, 2023, Yokohama) or, for an older twist, "The Non-Fiction Days" (Official MV).
So far, every new album from Band-Maid has been better than the last.
Try a band called "THE WARNING" on June 12th in Japan they are going to be playing a show with Band Maid..try AUTOMATIC SUN LIVE AT TECATE PA'L NORTE FESTIVAL (STUDIO VERSION) or DUST TO DUST LIVE AT TEATRO METROPOLITAN CDMX 2022 you'll love them.. I Love BAND MAID ALSO💥🤘🎶✌️
I've actually been listening to The Warning for a few months now, they're really great! When they drop the rest of the album i may have to react to the deep cuts (unless we're getting a 7th single lmao) But yeah, fantastic group, waiting for them to come back to Arizona!
I like Warning! too. But my favorite rendition, believe it or not, was recorded by a fan at the Belasco, Los Angeles, in 2022:
th-cam.com/video/ptl38pKNbdM/w-d-xo.html
It better captures the percussion of the bass and drum. I think you'll like it also.
Akane proposed 3 or 4 drum compositions and Kanami/the band kept the fastest ... of course.
Their newer albums are better.
Their first three albums are good, I like them, but I consider the first three albums as their developmental era. *Maid in Japan, New Beginning,* and *Brand New Maid* were the albums where their management cautiously controlled what they allowed Band-Maid to record. It wasn't until *Brand New Maid* that they let them record anything that they wrote by themselves, with "Alone" being the first song that was 100% written by Band-Maid and with a pair of songs to which Saiki and Miku provided lyrics. "Forward", "Real Existence", and "Thrill" are among the songs that Band-Maid still includes on their set lists from their first two albums. They also still perform "Freedom", "The Non Fiction Days, "Before Yesterday", and (of course!) "Alone" from *Brand New Maid* in the shows.
But with *Just Bring It* Band-Maid had an album on which they wrote the majority of the songs, of which many are considered among their best. Then they produced *World Domination,* again doing the vast majority of writing, followed up by *Band-Maiko,* their brilliant April Fools' Day prank and *Conqueror,* released just as the lockdowns started.
They stayed busy during the lockdown, producing *Unseen World* and *Unleash* which both contain some outstanding music like "Without Holding Back", "Manners", "No God", "Giovanni", "From Now On", etc.
The members of Band-Maid just become more creative every year. And don't overlook their singles: they hide some incredible music on the B-sides.
Any other song from this album? All of them? :P
This whole album rips, and the one after… and ones before. I think their first 3 are their weakest honestly. Check out more when you get a chance. Especially this one.
To expand on why I think the first 3 are their weakest, it’s because all but 1 song from that group weren’t written by them. They have had control of their music since then and they’re just much better writers than the people the studio used initially.
The fan base is pretty universal in this opinion. Where you will get disagreement is are albums 4&5 better than 6,7,8?
I actually said it in this video but didnt want to potentially upset anyone so i chopped the bit out, but i felt like the first 3 albums just all sounded like the same thing. like keeping a consistent sound isnt bad but it has to be evolved upon to, otherwise it just sounds you're listening to the same thing on repeat. the songs were good but it just sounded a lot like a rinse and repeat. there was one song that stood out to me quite a bit though, the opener on Album 3 felt generally heavier then everything else and i vibed with that a lot. that said though, im really excited to checkout everything else that i haven't heard because this song bangs!
The music... Might have to choose the newer songs...
Na not Roger !
You actually stopped listening to them right when they started writing their own songs. You have a lot to catch up on
Yeah, that's what I've heard from a few people, i was hesitant on continuing passed the 3rd album because they all felt like the same thing. There wasn't much life. don't get me wrong, i think they're good songs, but they sound similar to the point where i couldn't really tell them apart, which feels problematic when like 26 songs sound like 2 songs. regardless, though, I'm itchin' to checkout some more of their stuff!
@@SolitudeSorrowMusic I'll tell you what. Listen to Daydreaming, Wonderland, & Shambles and see if you still feel the same way
Band-Maid first albums had songs written by other persons, than by the band members. With the song Alone Band-Maid management allowed them to perform, and write, their own music. And the Maids have been soaring ever since. What a group. If you like fast and hard rock check out Manners (more traditional rock) and Black Hole (bordering on the chaotic but tight). Thanks for the reaction to Band-Maid.
Glad you're grooving with 'Band Maid' and that you liked their song! 'Warning')
In regards to their music, you have plenty to choose from. Right now you might like their newest stuff better; but I'll put money on the idea that after a while you'll go back and relisten to some of their earlier music and hear things you didn't hear before 💢
For me, it's ALL good); I can't put earlier up against newer..
It'd be like saying "Early 'Rollimg Stones' or later..? .➰
Can't do it..nope, just can't!).🕊️ ° . • PO!
Akane’s fills are amazing.
Thanks, Roger. Spreading the word.
