“budding superstar” is 💯💯. Can’t wait to see more from her.
Miroslav Klose is another example, who was Polish, playing in the Bundesliga but opted for Germany
I like to see the 16 years old super-star Lily Yohannes.
Well keep rocking with us! We’ll be keeping an eye on her and her various career moves and options. Thanks for chiming in!!
I think Mia Hamm made her debut at 15… at least that’s when she was scouted and had her first camp. Not sure if she got a cap before 16 but I know she was definitely on the team at 15
I’m pretty sure you’re right, that’s what I remember also.
You never talk about spanish and german leagues. In Spain and Germany we also play football...
Fair criticism! We will work more of both leagues into the schedule moving forward. Appreciate you hanging out and chiming in!
Not entirely true with cap ties. You can make a one time switch if you are dual eligible. But it’s just once. So she could be cap tied to one country but can switch to the other if she chooses.
Ahh gotcha. Thanks for clarifying Peter and thanks for hanging out!
First off don’t get me wrong. I would love for Lily to play for the US, but I’m just thinking since she was 10 she’s been playing growing alongside summer of the Netherlands players her friends, and she even said that she didn’t really know anybody on the US side so being that young I think you would just wanna be playing with your friends.
True. But this gives her opportunities to meet and play with the girls from her home country. Ultimately it’s her decision in the end, but with Emma showing her how much she wants her in the mix, that could be enough to help her make her choice.
Yes, so maybe she wants a different challenge and add growth to her game in a different way. The USWNT could offer her that. Plus I think Emma is going to a be a big draw
