- Postcolonial feminist theory is primarily concerned with the representation of women in once colonized countries and in Western locations, and involves challenge posed to dominant patriarchal ideologies by women of the third world. This talk discusses digital feminism and gendered political activism in South Asia that consists of contesting local power structures and development of religious nationalisms, as well as challenging racist or Eurocentric views about women from South Asia. It discusses how, through the use of technology as a powerful tool of resistance and activism, women and persons of other marginalized genders in South Asia continue to help contemporary feminism evolve into a more inclusive, multi-dimensional, and pro-intersectional movement.
