The moment he started to fall in love was when he and LZ stayed in the Library Pavilion for one month, when WWX was being punished by copying the 3000 rules, and LZ was his supervisor.

I genuinely love how they manage to get around the censorship with this show. There is so much subtext and carefully crafted meaning in the writing - the way lan xichen tells this story about his parents. Talking about his father punishing himself for the one he loved and also hiding them. I've a lot of respect for the writers/producers and actors, getting across the feeling and meaning while walking a fine line with censorship and all.
It’s absolutely hard to stand up to your family, especially when you love them. That moment you realize you have to make your own decisions you know your family won’t like, but you know it’s best. Lan Wangji is so strong and brave for doing that. Whenever I have my moments where I want to stand up for myself, I think of him.

This episode made me cry, Lan Zhan standing up for his friend against his own family and clan even when Wei Ying is not around anymore to see it,

Gente do céu, quanto nome, coitado dos chinês pra decorar tudo isso. Eu fui pesquisar e descobri o porque, Na China antiga cada pessoa tinha 3 nomes: Um nome de Nascimento, um nome social e um título.
Agora, eis uma curiosidade sobre a china e o Japão: As pessoas costumam se tratar segunda um grau de hierarquia, posição social, mas principalmente proximidade e intimidade.
Chamar alguém pelo título soa mais sério respeitoso, é para:
1- pessoas com pouco ou nenhum nível de intimidade;
2- Um ambiente mais sério e importante;
3- Pode ser usado por uma pessoa que chama o outro por seu nome de nascimento ou social, mas que naquele momento quer soar mais sério e formal. Ou quando você quer se referir à pessoa pra alguém que chama essa pessoa assim, por ex, se os discípulos chamam o Lan zhan pelo título e o Wei Ying quer se referir a ele pra eles, ele pode usar o título.Tipo quando alguém se refere à mãe de uma criança e diz “sua mãe”, ao invés do nome da mulher.
O nome social é o mais comum, ele soa mais respeitoso, embora não tanto quanto o título. É muito utilizado no dia a dia e pode ser chamado de meio termo, ele não soa tão sério e importante, mas ao mesmo tempo também não soa íntimo ou desrespeitoso.

I was so disappointed with the Lan clan, Nie and Jiang Clan. Like they were supposed to be the good guys. Like you can't see that Wei Ying did a good deed by saving Wen Qing and her family.
