Just teasing but glad it played out this way. Love the atmosphere for these episodes - whimsical and dangerous and weird all in one. Perfect for encounters with fey/nature spirits.
I’m quite new to D&D and I’ve absolutely loved binging this series and the role play I’ve seen throughout makes me really excited to dive into my own characters.

I laughed way harder than I should have at that. The expression on Kelly’s face was priceless

Monty’s poker face breaks into sly smile, and his thoughts can be heard “Ooh, I wonder what would happen if Wrath threw that on something? That could be fun.”
I cant imagine the cackle Monty would let out if they had just not tried to identify it and accidentally gave whatever they were fighting haste

the difference between a roomful of sleepy druids being silly versus scary is Monty saying "they shudder momentarily... like they spasm -*insert nightmarish moan*-"
I can’t help but think that when the dusk wardens eventually meet drakkenforce they will both talk about how, “you guys sleep in a triangle too!”

just occurred to me how much I love that monty has trained his players to move their own minis around the map. they don't need to ask how far on the terrain 10ft is, for example. Great job!
More due to player placement and Battle Mat placement and the fact they have a basic level of understanding. Less akin to being trained by Monty.

It's exciting to use those high level spells without being high level to use them. Alot of times many of those spells really have no real benefit to the players but in the DM's hands it's mind blowing what you can end up doing.
Not very often you get to do astral projection or planeshift, I want to do so in my own campaign.
1000 bonus points for the subtle references to unknown Kadath. Love it.
How strange it is to see Wilhelm with two eyes! 😲 I was disappointed that Big Bruce didn't give Wrath a headbutt and a purr.

I love how Kelly FINALLY beat Monty's Athletics vs Acrobatics stance by describing his moves as fancy flips.
Am I the only one wondering if when the boss werewolf left the crew with Mathias to discuss options he only went out of human hearing range, and not Greater Werewolf hearing range? As was possibly revealed by Monty trying to save the crew from making a same prior potentially dangerous boo boo?
Loving the developing story, can't wait to see what happens.

If I had a Nickel for every time I saw a online dnd game, themed as plants vs zombies, with a DM called Monty, I had two Nickel. Which isn't much but it's very odd it happened within a few weeks.

I only have one complaint, Monty should've just accepted that the group made their rolls to cross the bridge. Why even have them roll, but it is what it is.

Shield of acclimation. Often appearing as a tangin (the tangin doubles as a dagger) this shield mutates you during your next long rest. If you air breath you comfortably rest in water and awaken water breathing losing air breathing. Interruptions leave intermittent need for both. You can sleep comfortably in ice and snow. You do not make death saves against environments but can be forced into a long rest by them.

Make a character who is addicted to the haste spell and things that gives haste
In my table we have a problem with bad role play and backstories. Can you guys make a video about that? I mean, not with tips especifically but examples of good backstories and some role play for them.
Really? Why not simply talk to your group.
A good backstory is a launchpad with potential hooks. Not something to write a campaign around. Nothing more.
Hooks can range from Precious Relationships, Employers, Training, and Connections.
It should not span more than a page, and should have key things like names, and locations highlighted for quick reference with a brief descriptor at the top or bottom of the page.
Example;
Elisa - Sister - Dead via Disease
Entropys - City - Hometown
The GM should not have to reread your entire backstory to pull out certain information.
Role Play is subjective. Never good, or bad.
If Meta Gaming is an issue ask the player directly, "Does your character know Astrophysics?" When they obviously would not as a Wage Slave Ex-Guard, booted out for disagreeing and being publicly shamed by a corrupt Commander. Thus losing their job and unable to pay for the medication their sister Elisa required.
If your problem is voices, then that isn't a problem. That is a player comfort thing, you have no right to dictate whether voices are mandatory.
If your problem is Murder Hobo, ask them what they want to do. If they want to kill and fight and be super bada$$es, then throw them into an Arena, or play a competitive board/card game.
Seriously, it all boils down to talk to your group. Not, "Hey, make a video about so you solve my problem."

I'm not even saying these are your issues; what I AM saying is use that waggling meat in your mouth and produce sound towards your fellow meatlings.
None of this is written in a mocking tone. It is written in a confused and sarcastic tone towards the end.
We have been talking for a while, lots of issues are better now. We still have problem with metagame and people that roleplay themselves in every character and sometimes even forget their character personalities because "Yes".
I believe the problem that my group has with background is lack of objective in it. I also confess that maybe my ideal of background was really wrong because I was watching too much Critical Role and to ask for them to replicate something similar is unfair, after all Critical Role is more a show than a real game.

How come Wilhelm is so much lower on HP than Wrath as they both use a d8???
This comes down to constitution score. Wilhelm has a +1 to con, Wrath a +3. Over 8 levels that means Wilhelm has added 8 to his Hp on top of his d8, while wrath has added 24.

I love you guys videos and I understand how difficult it can be to DM smoothly and effectively, but my dude, my dungeon dude, we gotta get a handle on all those “uhm” and “uhs” at 19:13 that’s about seven in a row.
Instead of saying “uh” or “uhm” take a breath and if you must fill the silence use a descriptive phrase about the surroundings. Such as “In the distance, thunder rolls.” Or “The smell of old bones and older sewers permeates the ruins.” Or “The rain is light and cold.”
This way you’re still supplying filler while you’re thinking. Rehearse the filler lines or have them on a post it note nearby, I know the game will always unfold in ways we cannot plan for, but you can plan your way around saying “uh” or “uhm” so many times. Also, No one ever gets mad about adding flavor to a game.
Not disliking the video, but here for a group that could be listened to around kiddos and this is just disgusting. Skipping this one
