Being in the telecom industry for 30 yrs. We use 145P Tags w/11" LacingCord pigtail (Qty 25) Telecom Gry FIBER 145PTAG 1"x1-3/4". You can find them online. You can write on them with a extra fine tip maker or use a label maker. We overcome the labels from coming off by using clear finger nail polish over top the tag’s. I have tags that i put on cables for over 20 yrs and the labels have never came apart. You can order the tags in different sizes. You can learn to use a bundle stitch or a clover hitch and reef knot to tie them to your cables. This method has been used by the telephone industry for over a 100 years. They work on large or small cables. Best method I have ever seen for labeling all cables.
Thanks so much my friend. These will work great for labeling my Roland V-Drums and other audio equipment. Many thanks for your research and sharing. Tom Pollock
Great tip. Thanks a lot. I'll definitely grab some of these. I would say it is a pretty perfect solution for an imperfect problem. When talking about labeling cables this is about the best solution you can find I think.
lol right!? I found these to be super handy. A person on here recommended using some fine grit sandpaper to rough up the surface before writing on it, this should help the writing from being rubbed off. Hope it works out great for you...cheers.
These labels sound good. I am wondering if a light rub with sandpaper would help the ink be more permanent? As an aside, I come from the North East of England and you would be known as a Cuddy Wifter! A lefthanded person, I'm LH myself! 👍
@@SpecOfTech its good content many ask all the time. The tube plastic work great and they actually dont weigh anything so its not added stress but they are more involed then your solution. Both great solutions for sure. Only big down side is the price

Glad it helped buddy, cheers.
Thanks for the insight! Just ordered some. Looking forward to trying them out!
Something we've all dealt with. That's a pretty clean and versatile solution. Thanx.
I thought so to, thanks brother!

I just ordered some. Thanks for the tip! Now I just need to engineer a drawer to organize a small mountain of cables, or maybe a pegboard. 👍

That's actually a great idea, that would probably help for sure. I have never heard that term before for a lefty lol.
FYI, if you use permanent marker (like a Sharpie), and want to change the label, you can actually remove the marker with rubbing alcohol.
I want to no best custom way to do it for video games fires I don't have any printer in house
The prices for pieces of cheap plastic is ridiculous
Ahahhaha glade I asked the question a few weeks ago :)
Yup, me too lol!

@@taxi615 Yeah I almost bought those tube ones too, but went this route because they are so small and easy to use. Also they were cheaper lol.
where's your top lip?
No idea, but I do know where your mom's top lip is 😉😉!
These will snag and come off easily
They dont though, how often are your cables moving around to snag on something? They stay on quite well if put on properly...cheers!
