    For the top:
    Start with a magic ring
Round 1: 6 SC into the magic ring
    Round 2: 2SC in each
Round 3: 1 SC then followed by 2SC, repeat (1,2,1,2 etc)
    Round 4: 1SC in each
    Round 5: 1SC, 1SC then followed by 2SC, repeat (1,1,2,1,1,2 etc)
    Round 6: 1SC in each
    For the base:
    Start with a magic ring
Round 1: 6 SC into the magic ring
    Round 2: 2SC in each
Round 3: 1 SC then followed by 2SC, repeat (1,2,1,2 etc)
    Round 4-5: 1SC in each
    Round 6: 1SC followed by 2SC together = i.e. decrease (1,2tog,1,2tog,1,2tog etc)
    Round 7-8: 1SC in each
    Round 9: 2SC in each
    Round 10: 1SC in each
Fill base with stuffing and sew together the top with the base but leave a hole for stuffing the "top", sew together the rest

If you're struggling with the pattern I recommend going back to some real basics and just doing some granny squares, that way you'll have the basics down and should be able to easily do this.

This is a brilliant little pattern, I watched how you did it and it is so clear. I’m inspired to make one today! Thank you for showing us.
Also, I love your technique of using a strand of wool to mark the start of a new row. So much quicker.
Do you demonstrate other patterns? I need to do an onion.
Thanks again and carry on with the good work.

You are not the only one. I did this pattern with normal sized yarn (I don't remember the size right now) and embroidery thread to make earrings and each time the top had more stitches than the base to connect. I made sure I followed the pattern to a T :/
