What I liked best about this video is that is was a classic buffet review in Derek’s unique style. These videos are why I subscribed and will continue to watch.
Fried plaintains like a king! My favorite with some arroz con pollo or along with what i did not see oxtails. I absolutely love food journeys with Derek and Catherine!
derek, I used to ask myself why people rave about crab legs and queue for them. So one day I looked for videos on how to eat the fckn things, made it to a buffet and now I'm a fan. the butter sauce makes them even better.
I wont go as far as horrible...they cant go as gourmet or authentic seafood like those Ive eaten in Asia,or the Carribean or they'd risk customers who'd prefer Americanized Asian or Tropical food....
That buffet was sad. Half the stuff looked like it was sitting out to long. First cue was not many people there. For a seafood buffet there should be more seafood.
I eat there at least once a year. It’s definitely not the worst, nor the best. I do love the updates, and not having to wait until the end of your meal to not get a drink. They used to get so busy, they would forget to bring stuff. I think the updates really helped. I normally go for breakfast, unless my host throws me a buffet or two. Then, I’ll try the dinner buffet. There are good things and bad things on any buffet. As far as the crab legs, try the clarified butter, and if they have it, a squeeze of lemon. I think you will find it much more enjoyable. Yes bad looking buffet. Those long scrawny crab legs were snow or tanner crab. Probably sat in a freezer warehouse for months. Same thing with the Dungeness crab you tried.

One thing I really like about your videos is your tastes are quite similar to mine in that you’re not a great lover of shellfish and lamb and you always go for my favorites, fried chicken, spaghetti, meatballs and Chinese noodles! 😂. Please keep doing these, it might be a long time before I can get back to Vegas.
Derek, this is certainly among your best videos... loaded with strong reactions to the food (especially the ribs and desserts)and good editing from first to last. Great job! Even though I'm from Maine and grew up on the seashore, I can understand why seafood is sometimes disappointing, as you showed with those watery crab legs. Seek out properly cooked scallops, fried haddock and lobster rolls if you want satisfying seafood.

P.S. I was kinda sad I didn't get to go to the T.I. buffet last year but now I know I can skip it. I think instead of a small fork, they should provide a pair of tweezers & a magnifying glass for the crab legs. Too much trouble for me to bother with. I'll stick with the fried chicken.

I get more variety and great food for $15 at my local buffet. I really only go FOR the seafood and sushi. I do usually have to try at least one piece of fried chicken and one meatball though at any buffet. When I get to a buffet I've never been to before, I take a walk through first to make sure I'd want to eat there. I would have passed on that one.
Good morning Derek.....Have you ever entertained the idea of doing a black and white "Charlie Chaplin" version of All You Can Vegas? This review would have been a dream come true..no talking, just facial ticks and terror eyes, that would have told the whole story. Honestly, the Dungeness crab looked like all they had was the bottom portion of the legs, small waste parts of the bodies and no claws. The snow crab is pre-cut length wise like that to make eating easier. Unfortunately, it looks like they decided to serve all the waste pieces of the crab process and pretty much everything else on the menu looked to be held to the same high standard. Look out Circus-Circus buffet, there's a new kid in town!!!! Thank Derek for the morning laugh and non-verbal hints!

A seafood buffet such as this makes the filet-O-fish sandwich at the drive-through window seem like a better option. Thanks for the tour, which in this case is a real public service.
Pro tip: Get there at 3:30 and pay for the lunch and not dinner. Plus if you're a tourist there's a place called tix 4 tonight and you can buy a food voucher that makes it even cheaper. Not worth it if you're a local and only paying for a buffet just once that week. Also also, they will steam the crab for you, the claws have a ton of meat in them and easy to crack open.
Crab legs were previously frozen ones most likely did not take to freezing and not fresh enough...get watya pay for. I'd be going for the lobster ravioli and top with the lobster bisque, maybe a little butter. The coconut curry fish looked OK.
It is + fresh seafood. Maybe it's not the same at the buffets. But I will try to load it up with seafood I can find at the buffet. I wouldn't have known it if I didn't watch your video.
Should have asked to speak with chef Bill about your experience. He is a talented cook. Like any buffet, the time you are there can greatly effect the appearance. We have never had a bad time at TI. The food is good and the staff is great. Nice review. Keep at it.

You're right, Derek....that heap of crab legs looked like the discarded shells some seagulls picked clean & left on the beach. Looked more like a $5.99 buffet to me. For the price they're charging it should include a room for a week. Not that I WOULD EVER stay there....not even for free.

After your review and looking at the food, there is no way that I would ever eat there, unless they radically improve the food and price it appropriately. I know the TI includes buffets with some of their room deals/packages and now I know why. Thanks for keeping it real. Five star review for a one star buffet.

What I remembered when I went to Vegas with my family in the earlier 80"s is the stuffed cabbages. They are so good. Now nobody makes them anymore.
That seafood buffet was a joke. The crab legs were an insult. And pre-cut prime rib whats that about. IMO not worth $35.
