How did the MTA miraculously find the money to restart these projects without the tolls readers being turned on. The Feds needs to forensic audit of the MTA
because the mta is so sure that the tolls are going to be able to start at the beginning of next year. whats going to happen if the mta is told that the congestion pricing is not allowed to happen. it will lead to both service cuts and even higher fare hike than was supposed to happen next year.
I think congestion charging is good policy. It reduces traffic, air pollution, car fatalities, and it better funds mass transit. The people who insist on driving are choosing the luxury option which costs more. That's fine, but then don't complain about the price.
There are so many buses and trains that go from New Jersey to Manhattan. If you insist on driving then you're choosing the most expensive option for yourself. The gas, depreciation, parking, tickets, repairs. Stop pretending like people who choose to drive are poor. They are choosing the luxury option every single day.
I live in Queens. I've been visiting here in South Florida for the past 4 months and I was supposed to be back in September. I think I need to stay a little bit longer. I love my city but my city is not itself anymore.
Congestion pricing is going to make a huge financial impact on anyone driving in Manhattan. This will become super expensive. They all lie on a consistent basis.
Stop the taxation on the "Middle Class" make the roads wider and start back enforcing laws again... NYC has no political balance... bring back common sense policies
New York had the most worst toll system in the country on Congestion Pricing. Let all drivers go for free in new york city new york. Free means Free. Think about a wisconsin they have no tollway on the highway you can get on the highway for free. Get rid of Kathy Hochul.
I'm from Wisconsin and I have a very different opinion. Have you ever been in Madison just before a football game? The streets are gridlocked. I think on days like that, congestion charging makes sense. Because if you don't need to drive then it would be better for the city if you didn't drive that day. Manhattan is like that all the time. Since it's basically free to drive in (I know there are tolls), it gets gridlocked every day. In this video we see a Jersey commuter who only brings his car because he doesn't want to take the bus or train. Well that guy is causing traffic for the people who actually do need to drive. So if congestion charging makes him choose the bus or train, that's good for the city. Congestion charging doesn't make sense everywhere, but it makes perfect sense in Manhattan.
@@mariusfacktor3597 I'm from Illinois. New York had worse Tollway System in the country. I love to drive my suv to and from Where to wear. New York have worse tollway than Illinois. Get rid of Congestion Pricing let all drivers go for free in new york city new york. Free means Free like always. Lot people need a money to pay for all fuel costs in new york city not on Congestion Pricing. We are not in London with congestion pricing. Get rid of Kathy Hochul. Donald Trump wants all be Free means Free for all Drivers in New York City. Make all fuel costs affordable again all in United States for good since covid.
@@kevinheneghan74 That was a lot of rambling. I don't know where to start. Firstly, Republicans are doing the bidding of corporations. The first thing Trump did in his last term was deregulate the Pay Day Loan industry so they could jack up their interest rates and mislead customers. Pete Buttigieg, a Democrat, is the reason airlines now have to reimburse customers when they cancel their flights. Anyways, highways are not free. They are tremendously expensive, actually. Only 22% of people living in Manhattan own a car. Why should they bear the cost of those highways as much as someone like you who uses your SUV every day? I understand you think you should get free things, but that always comes at the expense of other people. Maybe everyone should need to pay for the things they use. That seems more fair to me.
Whats the story here? people are complaining. they WILL get over it. 90% of people in that zone use public transit. Their say matters more than people sitting in cars whining

loans, then they pay it later after they get the money

Time to open the books of the mta ….my expass bill is over 200 dollars per month… what are they doing with the money
Audit the MTA and force the embezzlers to return the MTA budget they stole.
How about subway/bus riders start paying the fare??
REMEMBER TO VOTE HOCHUL OUT THAT IS HOW WE CAN STOP THIS

NYC residents are pissed about this as well. Vote Hocul out!
So sick of Lieber and the MTA's BS.
Congestion pricing is not necessary
Use the tax money to fund the subway instead of this type of money grab.
Except that THIS IS LITERALLY ITS PURPOPSE..
oh all the tax money is going to the migrants so they can have fancy hotels and credit cards, health insurance, school, mental health care

Time for an investigation into mta.
People will pay because if you want Commodity, which is costly, it will cost you.
1:42 that’s exactly what the democrats want for their citizens

How much you wanna bet none of that money will go to improving as they claim
So ya choose to pay for highway and buses and tolls wtf come on now
Backlashellteracism NYC staff 😢
Why not lower it to 90 cents?
Why? We should not have to pay a penny more than $0.00! We are already being robbed by paying taxes on taxes on top of taxes.

I tried. I personally didn’t vote for her…N.Y.C. needs to WAKE UP

Awful
So not my problem
Cab drivers and ride shares contribute to congestion so if they don’t like it they should just pass on the costs to their customers.

Finally
Maybe new jersey people should pay their fair share instead of leeching off of nyc
They already pay for the toll
We already carry your whole economy
