    Personal Log 2:
Imperial Regulars 447th Division Private First Class Cal.
None of us expected an easy fight. Hell none of us even expected a moderate one. But the battle on Brentaal. That was a slaughter. Our platoon was the first on the ground. "Landing clearing" they called it. Make a secure position for more troop to drop. Sure enough first thing they send down is more boots and a couple of ties for air support. As we moved out from the landing zone the city was eerily quiet. So we ended up taking position in a nearby building while the rest of the unit moved to take out that turbo that took out an ISD. And thats when their trap sprung. Hundreds of what looked to be the local militia cam from the otherside of a hill with retrofitted land speeders. With our forces spread out the way they were the people not in cover were easy pickings. Even the platoon of stormtroopers outside the building didnt stand a chance. But we held for dear life. Our bravery was repaid with an AT-AT sent down for support. Those guys were a beaming light to us grunts. With the support of the heavy walker and some pods we pushed forward clearing out any enemy stragglers. And getting to watch an orbital bombardment. Hell I even got lucky and shot the pilot of that old clone wars era walker. But then the heavy fell not long after from heavy turbolaser fire. Causing fleet to send in a bombing run to take out the generator powering any that would be left. At the end of the day we won. But at the same time we sustained a heavy amount of casualties. Never got to meet those drivers, but if i had there would have been more than enough rounds on me.

Borleias is marked with that ability because of the Rogue Squadron series. An Imperial commander there has a hidden base where he is producing knock off Aalderaanian goods at a secret facility and selling them to the Black Market. The Rebels attack one base on the planet, but the hidden base provides extra energy for its shields and extra wings of Eyeballs and Squints

Shack didn't drop us until the end of the assault, the boys in the infantry regiment experience horrific losses, so many bodies piled high. Of defence forces and imperial. Yet we live as a anti infantry regiment, we often see sense like this. However the minefield, or what intell believes was a minefield left massive gashes in our forces. Hopefully our forces get bolstered before we fight something like this again.

For destroying enemy vehicles, the ATAT, or the Imperial hovertank (the one with the blue beam cannon) are likely your best bet, unless you wanna go in on ground fighters and get the Tie Striker, which is VERY good. Keep in mind that "face-punch them with an ATAT" is exactly what the empire does in these situations. It's extreme long range lets it paste enemy vehicles, and the 'basic' ATAT is loaded with repeating blasters to kill infantry as well, while the 'advanced' ATAT (like what Veers uses) is dedicated anti vehicle.

    [ Personal Log ]
[ Subject: Vicke Pallas, 457th Imperial TIE Squadron, No. 4 ]
    [ Serving onboard Gozanti-Class 'Seveneer' ]
    "Downtime"
We've finally been rotated out of Ansion. Parrel got us assigned back to the frontlines another patrol came to relieve us. Perfect timing too, Kears was practically bored out of her mind down here. After the battle of Brentaal IV, garrisons on the planet have requested additional units, including the 457th, to deal with any and all mop-up operations. You know, frankly, being back in the core feels a bit 'safer'. Guess being around a lotta folks for once gives you that feeling. I still carry a blaster by my hip though. Same with Kears.
The battle itself was an overwhelming victory... at least, that's what they told us before we landed. RIght next to the planetside dock, a few dozen medical tents, filled with quite a lot of army regs. Guess 'overwhelming victory' is a matter of perspective. Regs are replacable enough though, we could make up for those losses in a snap of a finger. Got a view of the AT-AT that practically won us the battle too. Never thought I'd see an AT-AT in person... albeit, destroyed. The wreck hasn't been cleared yet, but it should be salvaged as parts for armored units soon.
Reagel, Foulke, and Kears are currently out on patrol right now. Parrel's got me on maintenance duty after our other mechanic caught ill. It was apparently decided that I, being the stereotypical 'Oh-so-crafty Corellian', it was decided this was my time to shine. Shine the panel of a TIE, that is. Knowing how uneventful our patrols of Ansion was, I suppose its 'bout the same here. Though I do wonder, what are they up to out there?

    Journal Log 3
    Commander Korlan
    26th Stormtrooper Legion
Its been sometime since my last log, the fleet has been on high alert since the op on Skako Minor. So many droid production facilities..! Enough to churn out entire regiments of old Separatist battle droids, with the help of the 501st we rounded up the dissidents and the grossly incompetent Imperial officials that allowed this atrocity upon Imperial law to occur. The worst were given over to Lord Vader, I dare not speak in this log at what horrific punishment awaited those poor damn fools. The rest were dealt with personally by me and a select few other officers, its quite the motivator for a prisoner to sing like a bird when they're only options that don't involve being physically beaten to within an inch of their life is a firing squad or getting acquainted with an Interrogator droid.
From what my friends in the Navy have managed to tell me, the problem isn't just exclusive to Skako Minor. Our probe droids have sighted similar instances of infuriating incompetence on Brental IV and even Foerost. I should've known the damn companies on Foerost would get uppity once more, it was an infamously well fortified Separatist stronghold during the Clone Wars. It seems the corporate overlords have decided to take advantage of our local instability once more, well we'll make sure to be more thorough in erasing them utterly.
*Ship P.A: All units, prepare for deployment, I repeat all units prepare for deployment.*
Sounds like we've arrived at Brental IV, good; now that the 501st has finished their funerary arrangements for the late Commander Fulik I'm certain they're chomping at the bit for payback. I certainly am eager to end one irritating parasite upon the galaxy; I should go ready my men.

    Field Agent Log:
    Capt. [ERROR: Unauthorized Clearance]
    Imperial Intelligence Agent “Harbinger”
The Battle on Brentaal IV. Once again I was to serve as a forward scout for the ground forces. We had been keeping tabs on their ground capabilities for about a month now, we thought we were ready. I was dropped in hours ahead of the main assault group. A gunship as small and low to the ground as I was in wasn’t pinged as a threat on their sensors. Spent the time I had observing the troops movements and sending the fleet what I thought would be the best landing site.
Throughout most of the fight, I was relaying troop movements and positions to the fleet and ground forces. I suppose it was about time for my luck to run out however. As I was providing recon for the ground troops, the enemy managed to trace my location. After that, they had their damn AT-TE shoot at me. I barely made it out of the building in one piece but I did get injured. Nothing I can’t recover from. I don’t even feel it but the medical officer says I have to have a few days rest. I guess it couldn’t hurt. At least there’s still some Ansion rations left over so I don’t have to eat the nutrition supplements. And no, it’s not the stuff I impounded from the Regs and the 501st.
Attached below is whatever helmet cam footage I was able to save from my helmet. Took one hell of a beating.
    Agent Harbinger, signing off.

    501st Journal
    Week 25 - Brentaal IV
    TK-2401 - Pvt. Kale - Triton Squad
    "REGs - Routinely Expendable Grunts"
After the total subjugation of Skako Minor, evidence of further dissent was located on Brentaal IV. With the heavy fighting for Skako having taken it's toll, as well as our scuffles with the regular Imperial army reaching the ears of command, a large force of Imperial army regulars were brought in to subjugate Brentaal IV. Regs, or as I like to call them "routinely expendable grunts". Because that's all they are, and it was certainly proven as we hit the main capital city. The locals had been well aware of our impending invasion for weeks and had dug themselves in deep. Bunkers, turrets, turbo lasers, and minefields. Alongside several combat modified civilian speeders, droids and an old AT-TE.
Initially the army found success as they pushed through the city. Taking out several squads of armed militia and decimating the city. Unfortunately this is what the enemy wanted. They wanted us to get stuck in the city and use it as cover to launch a counterattack. They did exactly that and trapped the Regs in the city, scattering them all over. That's when we were called in to break them out and push back the enemy. With our AT-AT we broke into the city and forced the local defense forces to pull back. Unfortunately for us, we were ordered to hold the city as the army moved on to the main command post with our armor.
There the regs found the enemy's main defensive line, complete with turbos and an extensive minefield. They found themselves once again heavily engaged in a perfect field of fire where scores were cut down. Without proper support an AT-AT can only do so much and, as expected, the regs weren't smart enough to charge the line until after they lost the heavy armor. It was only thanks to the navy that they managed to break the line at all after a bombing run took out half the defense line. The navy is going to rub it in our faces with that one.
Even then the regs still didn't have what it took to take out the last set of stragglers at the command post. Again it was only thanks to us and our armor that the battle was finally won. Unfortunately it didn't come without cost to us as we lost a few good troopers to mines that weren't taken care of or properly marked. The Sargent was particularly upset at that, back handing one of the army guys for his complete unawareness. The 501st has taken over mop up operations but I sincerely hope command learns that these REGs are not that reliable. You need real troopers, not endless routinely expendable grunts.

Chas: The threat was because Miles was pissed off, five of our men died because of your payback, another two lost fingers. As for 2401's statement, that was not my team, or even my regiment's, it was one of the other regiments that wandered into the minefield.
Welk: And I think we might've gotten the wrong squad's helmets because she's still on about the goo bombs.
Acre: For being one of the hotter stormtroopers we've met, I think that would be worse than spray paint on her helmet. At least that can be washed off relatively easily.
Chas: Either way, the five of us were in the Tyrranosaur as spotters when she went down, so the minefield wasn't part of our area of operation. Acre, check the bikes.

Chas: Oh, also, the Colonel wanted me to bring word to you that those new guys are landing here this afternoon. They'll probably be here in a couple of hours. He sent us over to let you know.
[I don't think any of my guys are gonna be interested in Misty. Acre was at risk of her making him a eunuch, Morris wouldn't flirt with her due to her relation to Ace, Acre has sense to not flirt with a stormtrooper at all, Welk isn't into women, and Kerrin is a puny eighteen year old conscript from Onderon, basically a kid. With how many worlds in the core are not owned by the Empire, like Foerost and Chandilla, it makes me worried about what could happen. So maybe secure the core and build up your forces and economy to be ready to strike out towards the rim worlds.

  • @SamuelJamesNary
    @SamuelJamesNary ปีที่แล้ว +6

Imp Rep 4 - The campaign in the Core continues, and while there is some question as to whether or not this transition from securing the area around Yaga Minor and building up for a campaign for Ord Mantell is necessary... given the forces available... I would offer for Imperial historians that the campaign has also been successful in the finest traditions of the Empire. I was able to attend the briefing before the ground troops went in on Brentaal IV. These were largely Imperial Regulars, who did stand with some determination as their commander gave them their orders and the notice, "most of you will die, but that is a sacrifice the Emperor is willing to make." And ultimately, many of them did die there, as this "independent" world had a fair amount of old Clone Wars tech on the ground, including an old AT-TE. From reports, it did okay against the infantry, but couldn't take on the AT-AT that was landed... though surviving regulars indicate that ground turbolasers and minefields also took out the AT-AT as well, but the world is ours and the ISB may now begin investigating how Brentaal IV managed to secure Imperial space technology to then rebel against the Empire.
Speaking of the Rebels, some holo reports did come in and Lord Vader has allowed me to view them for this report and record. It would appear that the Rebel Alliance in the outer to mid rim areas have begun some actions around Aridus, striking at the modest garrison there, and with the fleet having one old Clone Wars era Venator, still with Republic colors... disgraceful... a rather organic looking ship... likely Mon Calamari, if the references to their star liners are to be believed. The orbit of Aridus was lost, but we did appear to take out one leading Nebulon B2 that lead the charge... I would suggest beefing up the ground garrison or at least bolstering the surrounding support fleets should that Rebel force move. Particularly if they let this minor victory go to their heads.
In the meantime, Lord Vader has then moved his fleet from Brentaal IV to Foerost, where another spawning group of "Independent Rebels" have sprung up after the destruction of the Death Star. Likely just to shut the jumpy Moffs up while Lord Vader works to coordinate the main elements of the plan that was started in cleaning up the mess that the Rebels unleashed at Yavin IV. The space battle proved remarkably easy given the size of the fleet this force had... though some of that is to be expected. The Invincible Class was centuries out of date when the Clone Wars began. There was no way one would stand up to Imperial Star Destroyers and Lord Vader projecting an image of fear from his TIE Advanced. All that now remains is securing the world, which I am sure the troopers are ready for. Most of them will die, but that's a sacrifice the Emperor is willing to make. - Ensign Iam Minion.

    Death squadron log:
I thought that the last battle had satisfied my lust, once again I was proven foolish. As reports of both victories and defeats were coming in from across the galaxy my yearning for combat grew. For a moment I thought I would go insane and release my urges upon one of my brethren, something that would end only by the hand of lord Vader, better that than the pain I felt during the withdrawal. Thankfully the force spared me once again. Foerost is another planet inhabited by people foolish enough to stand against my master, much like everyone else they were proven wrong. The commander performed better this time, still unworthy of our lords power but at least he wasn't a disadvantage as usual. The battle was brief but it was enough to calm me down. Seeing my brethren and my lord destroying those fools was once again an incredible experience, me participating made even better. I was afraid that lord Vader would punish me by ordering me to stay back. Thankfully I wasn't denied the slaughter. I can't wait what I will follow. I only hope I can stay together until the next massacre.

Journal of Gunnery Captain Tobias, Entry 4.
I don't have the paygrade nor the time to read action reports from across the galaxy, but when I'm in the canteen, eating my rations, I listen in on the superior officers and things are not going well for imperial space garrison of Aridus, some rebel fleet commanded by Captain Shack attacked. Now I don't know why the ISB overlooked the fact that Commander Shed is the brother of Captain Shack, but I will not question it for now.
I was grilled by the ground commander after the battle of Brentaal IV, he kept yelling at me and my gunners because we 'kept missing that damned walker' and said we should receive remedial training, now I don't know what walker he speaks of but bombarding stuff from orbit is hard and I will not take chit from a ground commander who lost a Crinking AT-AT of all things. I will file a report to the ISB about this little incident of his, in the meantime I will use this break to give an inspiring speech about how the imperial army sucks, like really hard.
It's been a very long time since I last saw an Invincible dreadnought, it's surprising that they are still even in service, I thought they were all scrapped to make way for the venators and Imperial star destroyers, but I thought wrong and it was a nice little mental break from the pattern that controls me and my gunners. But in the end it was destroyed by the pure firepower and might of the 3rd Imperial fleet.

    Lieutenant log:
Finally got to my post, its a gun postion on the starboard side of the star destroyer venture. My commander was gak, a slightly older man than me but acts like he know more than any of us. I honestly honestly think he just on a faster track than i was and he got this post thanks to his family. Some familys have the money to do that but whos to argue with positions.
Had my first taste of fire, Isd venture made a couple of jumps to link up with the Devastor, lord vaders ship. I feared serving on that ship Cuz of the amount of people alone has killed on that ship. I didnt care really cuz i was here to do my job and securing a perfect empire. When venture got in orbit, the calcor( dreadnought class crusier) got destroyed instantly. As for me, i continues to fire at every target that comes into my sights. Eventually once the battle was over, venture took some heavy hits but atleast she wasnt the Devastor or the gorgan. Gorgan got destroyed by the hypervelocity gun while vaders ship will its self through the battle. Like i said, glad im not on his ship.
I waited in the hanger for jackie, she and her squadron were the true hero's of the battle. I watch as she got out of her tie. She walk over to me pissed as ever. I assume her pilots around her couldnt stay with her or die trying.
"Jackie u ok" i asked but she storm passed me and proceeded to her room. Idk whats wrong but ill catch up with her later. For now i look out the hanger to see the planet. I Hope sams ok, havent heard from him since the 501st took losses.
Sam stay safe bro, hopefully i see u soon.

Lt Kartsov, Tsar Squad, Storm Commando Corps.
    Application for promotion to captain:
    Brentall IV action-
After the destruction of the salvaged AT-TE, the captain of the AT-AT “Tyrranosaur” ordered to press the attack, likely hoping to impress Admiral Shed. I was assigned to the gunner on the Port side E-WEB. The enemy was prepared and we came under heavy fire from turrets from the bow and starboard side of the walker. When systems began to fail, I ordered the Regulars we were transporting inside to evacuate. The captain tried to overrule me with rank, and I flashed my credentials with the Commission of the Preservation of the New Order, or COMPNOR. I don’t answer to him. He then pulled a pistol on me, attempting to place me under arrest. Quickly, I drew my own and fired at his hand, getting him to drop the weapon. The Regulars, Tsar Squad, and I managed to rappel down just in time before the AT-AT “Tyrranosaur” was destroyed.
Due to my call more than a dozen lives were saved. Due to my quick thinking, situational awareness, and desire to save lives, I believe I meet the requirements to be promoted to Captain.

One thing about the new map I've learned is how vital the core worlds are for income and mass production. They're harder to take in the early game but once you get them up and running they make campagining in the rim much easier. Also from a role play point of view as the Empire it makes a lot of sense to capture the core and then take over the major hyperlanes.

One of the juggernauts is the hero juggernaut 1 that mix. As long as you keep the group together it hits hard enough early game that I haven't had an issue until they started to tech up.

It has anti-starfighter screening with its x4 Dual Heavy Flak LC x4 Dual Repeating PD weapons, an anti-missile defense system as well as CR TL. Its crowning glory however is the LONG range dual TL that allows for poking holes in the enemy in early moments of a battle.

    Sergeant's Log
    Week 25
    Brentaal IV
Well, things could certainly have been done better with this invasion. Word came down from Command that the Army forces would be taking point. 447th did just that, deploying my regiment and another. Resistance was light at first, but then we hit the first trap. Then we get armor called in, another trap is set off. Stormtroopers and more army forces are dropped in, and things just keep happening and happening.
With victory achieved, the 5486th has been the better off the rest of the regiments in our division. We took losses, sure, but not as severe as the 2899th. The AT-AT "Tyrranosaur" was lost, my team and some storm commandos nearly died. The commando leader shot the walker's commander so that we could escape. I'll need to have a word with him.
In other news, Vader has taken the fleet to another section of the Core, probably setting up another planet for us and the 501st to take. Whatever happens, Miles has said we're receiving reinforcements in the next day or two, word from up high is that they're supposed to help deal with this feud between the 5826th and the 501st.

anti armor stormtroopers (although you have to be careful there are only 2 squads)
and the IDTs and ITTs make a good pairing, decent firepower from the arty and the fire rate boost from the ITT's drop.
    AT-ST/R are a notable tank, but they're mid-lategame

    Lieutenant JG Eros Kane.
I saw the weekly supply requests and the number of body bags requested is quite frankly disturbing. I believe i must voice support for the strategies of the 7th fleet. a robust force of heavily armed and armored units will easily secure our objectives and suffer little in the way of casualties.
Additionally, I also saw the request for a replacement AT-AT. i understand that it was invaluable to our success on Brental IV; however, heavy walkers don't grow on ag world farms I will submit the order to the production corp but expect that replacement to take some time.
Lastly, additionally, supply to Corulag's close air support research was easier to allocate than expected with the industrial complex moving into high gear TIE parts are easy to come by, and shipping them to a planet still in the core was not too difficult. Here is to hoping that this new air support research yields good results.

    Lieutenant Victoria Jensen’s Log:
Week 25 of the Galactic Civil War
    In orbit of Foerost

    “Rearmed”
Palpatine has been determined to crush any planets rebelling for independence in the core systems and has Vader running around playing Whack-A-Mole with the various independence factions. Damn them for the fight they put up. Their old Clone Wars weapons devastate us every time they can. I’ve been shot down twice now, thanks to them.
I guess I can’t put my frustrated scream into words. Too bad. An anti-ship turret completely sheared the right side of my fighter off during the Battle of Brentaal IV, taking my arm with it. I’m lucky it didn’t take more from me.
Imperial units picked me up after I got shot down. I was rushed to the Devastator’s medbay and after a few weeks, I’ve been fitted with a new prosthetic arm and deemed “fit for duty” by the medical droid.
Still feels weird. My right arm being completely metal. Probably both the worst and best thing to happen to me. I’m still furious about it. The rest of the attack force made them pay a hundred-fold for what they cost me. My wingman wasn’t so lucky. I’m pretty sure he died when his fighter was hit.
5th Fleet is still pulling up weeds in the core. Meanwhile, the rest of the garden is growing out of control. Sorry. Bad metaphor, but it’s true. The Rebellion had its first real engagements with us today in rather unprotected systems. We blew up a fair portion of their ships and killed their troops, but they still cost us a fair amount. Not for long. I’m sure Vader is itching to get out and fight the Rebellion nice and proper instead of running Palpatine’s errands. I bet he’s furious after his defeat at Yavin, and he’ll make the Rebellion pay in blood. Gruesome, sure, but that’s Vader. Not like I can stop him. I love peace treaties and civilized discussions as much as the average diplomat, but we don’t get that option. It’s too late for that now. Peace will be achieved by sheer military might.
I’ve taken medical leave for a few weeks to get used to my new limb. I think the galaxy will be fine without me for a bit, but I’ll be back in the cockpit soon enough, fighting for the Empire. Soon.

51:25 The Lancer is undoubtedly the best support ship for just mincing fighters. Though it is a one trick pony in this regard and is pretty useless otherwise. The Raider is another good option for the empire (and is overall just better than the CR-90 I'd recon). The Beta Cruiser you can pick up from the Hapen shipyard is pretty potent as well, but is limited by the number you can build. The trireme Corvette from the Black Sun's arsenal aint bad either. But honestly the Recusant Destroyer (non refit) IG-88 gets is also very good. Not as spammable due to its cost and build cap, but it chews up fighters well enough and has point laser defense to support the fleet against more than just fighters. And unlike the Rebel Bulk Cruiser which fills a similar niche, the Recusant actually has guns that can reasonably threaten something in its own weight class (that have pretty good range too I might add).

*RPing as the starting ground officer unit in each episode (until I die).
Tactical report re: raiding forces from Infantry Captain Bear to Naval Commander Shed.
It is my recommendation that each planet should be rapidly reinforced with an outpost where possible.
Further more I additionally recommend 2 suppression Infantry platoons with APC's be stationed on each planet.
This should be enough to fight off or more importantly discourage minor raiding forces, encouraging these rebels to raid independent and other criminal systems.
-personal note: the airbags on the ATAT worked brilliantly.
Speaking of ATAT's, for an anti armour solution I have always found that heavy walker units work best in groups of 3. They are so easily out flanked otherwise.

  • @Morpheusthe3rdaa12
    @Morpheusthe3rdaa12 ปีที่แล้ว

Hey Shack! loving the series so far. I feel like the description of the AT-DT artillery is a bit incorrect. In my imperial campaign I paired 1-2 groups AT-DT with an AT-AT and infantry support. The AT-AT FOW reveal range of 1000 matches the AT-DT attack range of 1000, and both of those are greater than the engagement range of Bunker Turrets and Turbolaser towers. Infantry really doesn't have the speed to assault the AT-DT, but this group is somewhat vulnerable to fast attack speeders.
For the strategic battle, I recommend a focus on the core-worlds. Foerost, Aargau, Skako, Vulpter, and some others are mining worlds. That's good on it's own, but compounds with the superheavy freighters that the empire can pump out, because each mine gives every freighter a bonus.
Hope you manage to bring peace, justice and security to your great empire!

    [INTEL]
Admiral Shed, regarding your inquiry into an anti armor solution we've come up with a few alternatives that with some investing, we shall be able to produce en masse.
For air power as you astutely noticed the TIE Striker would be a powerful answer to rebel and criminal hardpoints alike with the devastating power of its proton bombs, however due to the slow travel time they are easily avoided by nimble hover craft.
While the AT-AT developed by General Veers and approved by the late Grand Moff Tarkin is a powerful war machine, its design is... inspired to say the least... Your concerns of its mobility are noted and with your stamp of approval and significant investment we believe we can provide a solution. A modification on the republics old TX-130, the TX-130T is a far more maneuverable vehicle, protected by anti-light shield systems and armed with 2xLt LC, 1xBeam Cannon, and 1x2-Burst AT RKTs your forces will be able to crush our enemies cobbled together land speeders and hover tanks. It's also roughly half the cost in materials to build two of these tanks compared to an entire AT-AT, which means you could get four TX-130Ts for the price of a single AT-AT, quite economical if we do say so ourselves.
Should the development of these modified republic tanks be too costly at the current time a cheaper solution would be to field our TX-225 Tank series, running at around 75% of the cost of TX-130Ts and lacking in shielding these light tanks can serve in cargo hauling and mobile base setup with extra resource allocation permitting field repair services, sensor arrays, missile jamming, and mortar support on top of using their blaster cannons to hammer light armor. It should be noted these are more of a support tank than main battle tank, R&D will not be held responsible if they are used as such.
An honorable mention is the A5 Juggernaut, while largely geared up for dealing with infantry, the singular medium laser cannon mounted on top can help it ward off enemy armor, though it cannot be expected to handle extended engagements and win against rebel tanks.
We in R&D thank you for your time Admiral, long live the Empire!

So I’ve been running a Star Wars 5e campaign for a few months now set in between the Old Republic and Clone Wars Eras. (Currently a few months after the event that turned Mustafar into a molten world. Which they got to witness).
They found a Clone Wars era Venator that was nearly completely destroyed in an asteroid field. They chalked it up to some experimental project gone wrong. They pieced it together and got a deal with a mining company and now have it as a star base over Mustafar as a protection agency.
Thought it was funny that Shack said he’d think it’d be cool if there was a campaign where you go up from a protection agency on a planet and make your way through the galaxy. Maybe even he will get a kick out of this.

I like the idea of focusing on the core. Though I would build garrison structures in your pockets of control and make the rebel/black sun fight for every inch.
It serves well as a story narrative as you fight for control, probably lose, and then later in the campaign liberating the planet and bringing it back into the folds of the empire.
It also serves well as a entertainment point, since we will be able to see battles on distant planets at both a low tier (as you fight with nothing but garrison troops) and then high tier (as you reclaim it using advanced battlegroups on the new frontlines of the developed map)

The officer pat Beady's shoulder before turning and marching away in an almost too-formal manner. Beady, aware he had a dozen pairs of eyes on him now, hurriedly sent his transmission and scuttled off.
Not even a firefight gets your heart pumping like an officer approaching you for seemingly no reason.
[There wasn't much action with Vader's fleet this time around and I couldn't think of anything to really say about the battle at Foerost so... some fluff??]

That minefield on brentall was the ground planetary weapon you found. Acts like stationary artillery.

Okay. Hear me out. AT-ATs supported by infantry and light vehicles at first.
Then, you capture another LZ and bring in just a SLEW of TIE strikers and use those to cover the ground units. Along with bombing runs and orbital bombardments.
No no. Trust me. I'm only a little crazy! It will work!

Denon - to connect territory on red hyper lane
Chandrila - before Rebells stack units into a mountain
West and north-west - easy money worlds

Shack, have you heard of the Black Fleet saga by Joshua Dalzelle? You make so many great sci fi references and its one of the best book series out there. It has a heavy focus on the realistic dynamics of how long a battle in space would take (days not minutes). Book 1 is titled Warship for anyone interested.

i love how this sounds like a counter intelligence officer is writing out the events. Shed is an Imperial for certain. It feels like richly detailed propaganda that is JUST accurate enough to be taken at face value, while not being the complete truth that might tell a different story.

I like the idea of using army support troopers in large numbers.....they heal and repair troops and vehicles...pairing them with at-at to keep at the large vehicles alive. Plus support troopers are cheap and if nothing else shear numbers of these can be thrown in with whatever you have...and you can stretch the life of each unit out this way...

God a Mass Effect type game based on being some Planetary Defense Force commander would be amazing. Maybe a turn based strategy with groups like the Warhammer Mechanicus game, or along the lines of Dawn of War+Space Combat

Tip 1 - Skako Minor doesn't have a space station rn, may be best to fix that unless you want an enemy force slipping into the core.
Tip 2 - Build up your economy in the early game, invest into Trade Stations on economic worlds and Asteroid mining on worlds capable of it. On Skako Minor you can also build Tabana Gas
Tip 3 - There is a revel smuggler stealing half of Coruscants credits currently

I'd stomp the core worlds and build mines everywhere, I've noticed that if you put an army pos, it'lll stop raids for the most part on those mining planets, once that's done go north and take that back line.

Answer to the question, is to keep an AT-AT in their face supported by ground troops and smash them with arty. It has the most health to tank, maybe even give the AT-AT some combat mechanics

It would be a high financial investment but I’d recommend 3At-ATS and the rest a mix of regulars and maybe an at-st or two.
Also go and finish Ilum and co. you pushed so far and did not take the planets. Get that free income :)
