    Love the videos btw, I’ve been waiting for a young relatable helicopter pilot to start vlogging and showing the dream of flying in the sky everyday for a living:)

    Great video! Do you also get study materials to help you with putting together your CFI binder and so on?

    Hey Devin I love your channel so much. I've been thinking about Mauna Loa Helicopters a lot lately. I'm in the army national guard for CA and I need to find scholarships do uk of any for national guard and do u have more info on the parent plus loan you used. Bc I'm 20 years old atm and don't make much money lol 😂 I'm really considering going to Mauna Loa

      Honestly the parent plus loan was a simple process. There may be some schools that accept a GI bill for the military but the parent plus loan was just an application and a credit check of my mom and pretty quickly it was accepted and put through to the school.

    I applied to start in February 2022 on the Oahu base, but seeing your video, I really think I should switch over to the Kona base. 🤔

    • @PilotDevin
      @PilotDevin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think thaat is honestly a great idea. The Honolulu base is wonderful for class B experince but also they don't due the training directly at that airport. They have to depart the class B and fly 5-10 mins to another airport and then start training then fly back vs. at Kona, as soon as you pick up you are starting your training!

    OoooH Watching your videos for a few months and pondering where I should go, I am strongly considering MLH!!!!
    Can I request you as my flight instructor🤩?

    King! Thanks for making this video! Soon I will be finishing my service in the Israeli defense forces and I will start to save up for helicopter school in Hawaii as well. Might take me a few years but I’ll make it. I was wondering what was the general vibes in Hawaii? Because I heard Kona is way more layed back compared to Honolulu.

    • @PilotDevin
      @PilotDevin 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The vibes are alright. Honestly its great for the training but not somewhere I wanted to live forever. It is a coll experince its just not it is all made out to be!

    although you said there weren't many americans, do you remember of any military veterans using their benefits to pay for school, and if it helped a lot or mauna loa wasn't covered for their schooling or anything like that?

    Were you able to finance the cost of housing into your loan. What if you rented somewhere else would you have to pay that yourself upfront?

    After you get your CFI would you be able to start working there to kind of balance the expense of going through the Professional Pilot Program?

    • @PilotDevin
      @PilotDevin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have to go all the way through CFII to be able to work there!

  • @daniellanavarro4575
    @daniellanavarro4575 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do students work to supplement their expenses during flight training here? How did you cover your rent/living expenses…if that is personal I totally understand

    • @PilotDevin
      @PilotDevin 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No absolutely it is. agreat question, You are pretty much expected to be able to pay your way through without the need for a job. Your "job" is school and your expected to be fully commited to it. So your rent / food and transportation cost should all be covered prior to starting. Now some people do work but they tend to take much longer in the program which ends up costing more money!

      @@PilotDevin if you had a loan, covering the full cost of flight school, including books, the medical exam, etc. How much would you say is a good amount of money to have for food and other things (if it took the same amount of time as it took you)

    Hi! I am having such a hard time financing my commercial license right now so any loan info you have please help a girl out

    • @PilotDevin
      @PilotDevin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The first place I would start is through scholarships. Through whirly girls and a generic google search, females in the helicopter industry are affored lots of scholarships!! Secondly I know sallie mae offers a loan but that may be school dependant. Have you looked into a local credit union??

      @JimmyWhiteAviation ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I went to MLH, Very glad I did, i toured both and although I liked both, MLH seemed a better fit for me.
      I found Hillsboro abit to ridged (i already had hours and Comm license from a different country)
      Love my time at MLH, had to leave early for personal reasons but will be back to finish it as soon as i can
