- MiraScreen is an affordable screen mirroring device for Android and iOS. In this video we setup and test the dongle with a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. This 2.4GHz WiFi display dongle supports MiraCast (Android, Windows 10) and is AirPlay compatible (iPhone, iPad, Mac). This HDMI stick is similar to ChromeCast and is cheaper than EZCast. It features an external Wifi range extender antenna and must be powered through an external USB power source such as a USB port on your TV.

Question please. Can this be used on its own like for example send a TH-cam video to it for the kids to watch the turn your phone off and leave your house. Would the video keep playing? And can it with with both Android and iOS? Thank you for the review!

Unfortunately no it will not keep playing. However it does work with both Android and iOS but not simultaneously.

I have bought Mirascreen from Aliexpress and when I connect it with tv, no signal from HDMI appears. I have tried to plug in USB in tv as well as diff adopters. Changed tvs as well. So can I assume that device is defective?
one more thing, by phone connects with wifi of mirascreen but this screen sharing doesnt appear on tv display
I think most likely yes, you have a defective device, if its not working on a different TV and other power adapters. Are you on the correct source (have you switch the TV input to the HDMI port) when you plug it in the HDMI port?
Hi Crispyvideos... does the dongle onlu support smart tv's? I have a sony bravia and it suppports screen mirroring but it is not a smart tv.
It will work with all TVs that have an HDMI input. If your TV has screen mirroring built in you shouldn't really have a need for this.

Please can you tell the difference and which one is better between these:
- Anycast
- Miracast
- Mirascreen
Miracast is a standard for wireless technology.
Both Anycast and Mirascreen support it. I have personally used 2 different Mirascreen devices: Mirascreen and EZCast and both worked great. I have not tested any Anycast device so I cant say anything about them. I just picked up a WeCast device and will make a video on it soon.
They are all very similar so go for whichever one you can get cheaper.

So I understand it works for samsung s7 edge but my doubt is if i connect it to smart view and sure it works. Will I be able to use the internet in my phone data or it will connect to a wifi network blocking my phone data? Again in case i wasnt clear. Will i be able to use youtube netflix etc while screen mirroring and without using wifi since i got no wifi. I know it may be a silly question but this info is not clear at all. Very confusing
It works fine. You can still connect to the Internet. I've used TH-cam and Netflix while casting.

Yes it is possible. You'll have to enter the IP address shown on screen in your Browser. There you can connect the MiraScreen device to your Router.

Yes it should work fine. I used it with my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge which doesn't support MHL and it worked great.

You can use it to mirror or cast your iPhone or PC to a TV. I haven't tried plugging it in my PCs HDMI port to see if that is possible.

Unfortunately it casts the whole screen.

Yes, it should work fine. I tested it with TH-cam. I'll give it a shot with Netflix and confirm.

My research shows that it should work fine with the phone. The TV must have an HDMI port too.

Your Phone power adapter should work just fine.

I think it's because of the limited transmission capabilities. I believe EZCast solves this. I will confirm and leave a message here. My EZCast should be coming in soon.

When MiraScreen is connected to your phone have you entered the IP address mention on the TV in your phones browser and loaded it?

Unfortunately no, it runs through WIFI. If you're phone supports MiraCast, it should work.

Are you powering it from the tv's USB port or power socket?
Also I know it seems simple enough but are you switching to the correct source on your tv.
Can you try it on a different tv? If nothing shows up there too you may have a defective unit.

Would you mind mentioning the phone model? Also, have you tried connecting via WIFI direct?

I haven't tried that but I think it won't work. Screen mirroring will still work without internet though.
ahmad muzbama ahmad zaharudin it will not work with home Wi-Fi because your phone Wi-Fi connection needs to connect to the device and it's impossible to connect to 2 different things at same time

As for the password. You can see it on screen in the top right corner, in our video it shows as 'PSK: 3798....'

The dongle works fine when casting video from laptop and phone, but I can't get the dongle to connect to my home wifi. When I select Internet form the website 192.168.203.1 I just get a turning circle waiting for hotspots to load but it never loads any. Any idea why?
It could be that the dongle needs a firmware update. But before doing so, try it out on a different phone or tablet.

Let me look into this further. I have never had a need to use this feature but I can give it a shot now. I'll get back to you with what I find.

I'll do my best.
Go to Settings and select Display, here you should have an option to Cast. Select that and choose the MiraScreen dongle. Depending on which Android version you are on this may work. If your phone has been updated the option may not be present as the Moto E4 Plus runs stock Android and the option has been removed.
You will however be able to cast through the TH-cam app or similar supported apps like Hulu etc.

When I connect to mirascreen through wifi direct it connects for 10 seconds then disconnects 😡
You have to enter the address shown on the screen and setup the internet pass through.

Samsung you need to look for smart view.. I have ZTE zmax pro and ZTE blade... if u have these phones go to settings then to display then to screen cast.. be sure to turn it on.. then the device should appear
