    Very good. That helps. Glad to hear it excels on clean sounds. As a long time fender amp user, clean is what they do best - especially with a little compression and reverb/delay. USB cables may pick up more noise at longer lengths, and may lose power transfer from impededence resistance loss. I have not tested either way. Good job, very informative without even playing!

    Thanks, this was a big help. Couldn't find anything on the Fender website or in the manual regarding troubleshooting. I feel like I owe you a drank for saving me a lot of grief.

    When I purchased the Mustang Micro it stopped working in my Ibanez after a day of light use. I thought it was the micro and fender sent me a new one but it wasn’t the components failing. The micro unit swivels around its jack which consequently can loosen the barrel jacket housing shorting the solder connections of your guitar. My jack housing seemed tight but I opened the back and watched it slightly turn when I put the micro in and turned it. When I put a regular guitar chord in it seemed to stay put. So my extra caution is make sure your barrel jack housing is tight without play or buy a soldering iron.
    A wireless headphone still would have delay.

    I'm a newbie. I have a player tele & an aftermarket strat, both lefties. Bought the mustang micro & was amazed. Great effects, crisp sound, cool stereo oscillation. I'm into the clean sound so far. Then the small output jack stretched open rendering the micro useless. Going to look for something similar without the jack failure issue. That's my reveiew. Thanks Joe.

    Great review! Can I use it with an android app editor or a Windows 11 Editor? Thank you for posting this

      You can connect this to an Android device via a USB C cable. Thanks for watching.

    The main problem I've been having with this is it takes forever to turn on. I switch it to "on" and it doesn't actually turn on. I have to do this about 5000 times before it actually turns on and even when it does it'll only stay on for a second before switching off again. It's so frustrating but when it actually works it is amazing.

      Doesn't sound right. If you are still able to return unit, you may wan't to replace with another.

    Totally agree that the USB cable is not fit for purpose. Why Fender? Such a great product let down but such a silly detail.

      I don't think it matters as patching the usb into a DAW has so much latency it is unusable.. Fender should have included a built in ASIO driver......I don't know who testing this stuff but it also should allow Bluetooth out for headphones....they could have equiped it with wireless out and bluetooth in and out

    hello, do you notice any sort of background noise playing with a strat clean sound?. I had a similar device (vox amplug) with that problem. Thanks.

      None that I detect.

      The amplugs all have terrible background hiss, the mustang micro doesn’t have this issue.

    I have one and it gets the job done. For the cost and convenience I don't think there is anything out there that is better at this time. One thing I would recommend is to use good headphones/ear buds. I originally tried it with a pair of "ok" ear buds, but then switched to my Sony MDR-V6 Studio Monitor Phones and there was a significant bump in sound quality. Looks like there are some firmware updates available from Fender now. Has anyone downloaded them and what are they (Fender does not indicate what the updates are on their website)?

    Great real world review. What is the Bluetooth sync like when watching videos from say TH-cam. Does the audio and visuals sync or is there a delay? Thanks

      Haven't used the Bluetooth function much. Basically just use as headphone amp. Thanks for tuning in!

    any chance you know the solution to this. When I plug my micro into Mac computer to record into GarageBand, the guitar, while perfectly in tune, does not match the tuning of the other tracks - loops, etc. I know it's not a GarageBand problem because when I hook my Boss Katana amp into USB the same guitar, same tuning is in perfectly with the loop tracks I've used. It's got to be a Fender micro problem. I've done the firmware update and problem still exists.

    Can you plug a wireless guitar transmitter into the amp 1/4 inch Jack and the receiver wireless into a full size amp. The wireless is a mono 1/4 inch Jack plug.

    Does anyone have a battery draining problem?
    Even if it's disconnected and turned off, after some days the battery charge disappears.

    Do you ever find yourself missing your Mustang lt25? I've been on the fence about buying the Mustang Micro I currently use the Champion 20. From all the reviews I've watched hours of them it seems like the Mustang micro and the Mustang lt25 have better effects than the Champion I have. I don't want to be without quote unquote real amp if I ever play with someone else but let's face I only play at home by myself.

    • @AJgeartalk
      @AJgeartalk  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would keep the Champion 20 for "regular" playing etc, and get the Mustang Micro for "portability". It sounds great and can be used outside, when you travel etc...

    I've been playing gtr for many years tube type amps have been my bag for sometime. But with my current situation volume is a issue as you know your self. My thoughts are how does it sound with the headphones , does it have decent distortion sound and could you use a boast in front of it? Thanks.

    • @AJgeartalk
      @AJgeartalk  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not attempted to use a boost , as the built in distortion sounds fine through the headphones. Where it shines, however, is with the cleans.

    Can't do a demo? Has it not occured to you that you could get a double ended 1\4 " audio cord or cable and a mini-bluetooth wired and wireless speaker(dual function; the wireless being for bluetooth for phone or tablet) with the same 1\4" auxiliary jack? I have small speaker like that and it sounds fantastic with the Mustang Micro for playing for a small audience or on you tube!

      Has it "occured" to you , that you can post a demo video if so desired?
