I hope in the future, all vending machines in japan will get updated to accept IC Card payment. When I was at the haneda airport, some people from the countryside in japan near me where suprised that you could buy things at vending machines just by holding your phone to it
Thanks, useful tips!!!Just a question: to recharge SUICA in a konbini one should use the "general purpose paying machine" or the ATM (if present)? Are they the same machine or different ones?
Thanks for your videos! ❤ perhaps you could make a travel recommendation video on where i should go during my 15 days travel to Japan? 😋✌️ cheers from 🇨🇭
I am planning on traveling to Japan in November and I am super excited! The whole situation with IC cards is so confusing. I am afraid I won't be able to get a welcome Suica card when I get there. 😅
@@mrspicy3708 wondering how your trip went. Did you end up getting the Welcome Suica? I went in 2019 and I don't know if it existed back then, but I had no issue with the regular Suica...
If you're not planning to visit places like shrines or local ramen shops, you probably won’t need to use cash. However, having some cash on hand can give you peace of mind during your trip!!
06:02 I had my first awkward experience on this in 2014 🥴

I Love Japanese ¥en!
日本円が大好きです!
Let's shop a lot in Japan!
Thank you.

Thanks for the comment! I think it's the same machine! Suica can be charged at ATMs in convenience stores!
@@ONOinJapan Thanks!

If you have an iPhone, you can use it as a digital IC card. Android phones don't have it outside japan, but all iPhones worldwide are compatible.
@@Saroku1000 unfortunately I have an android :(

@@ajaxwhat The trip was awesome! I got the welcome suica and had no issues whatsoever.
Thank you for the useful tips. I did order some of the biggest bills as well through my bank. Can they be used to buy Shinkansen tickets?
Of course you can use them😀
Isn’t there a app version for the suica cards nowadays?
There is a smartphone version of Suica, but it may not work on Android😭😭
Sry, I might have missed it. You said one should carry 5000-10000 Yen. Is this per day?😊
Probably 5,000 yen per day is enough😊
@@ONOinJapan thank you😊
How difficult would it be to live in Japan, 1 week, only use payment with card?

@@ONOinJapan Thats impressive
Cash=freedom. No CBDC
Money tips.... I am sorry. But it is disrespectful to tip in Japan.
