Classical Realist Drawing is a particular style of drawing with its own particular techniques. Generally the darks are limited to one value and only mid-tones are used in the light areas. The artist choses whether a particular tone is dark or light. This drawing style was started in the Renaissance and continues today in Atelier schools.
I did just now. I like this method as opposed to the methods you use in the Bargue and figure dvds, because it feels a bit more organic and the loose construct doesnt kill the creative spark. I have to admit that usually by the time Im finished with the carefully measured construct Im sick of the drawing, and rarely finish it. Wich is a shame as I like the academic look.. Great vid!
This is confusing and I agree with Ruth Haggedal. The Classical Method is drawing from the Outside in and NOT the inside OUT, Which, if you check this drawing, I believe is the main reason for it not being accurate with the cast example.

The "inside out" , was that referring to the rendering part? Because the construct use a more "outside in" approach. Or am I wrong?
Rune Heggedal You are right Rune. Did you see the full video as well?

Thank you Rune, we're so pleased that it resonated with you. There's more of this style of content in the works. So stay tuned!
What was the exact pencil being used?
Great video! Can someone tell me what song this is?
"Enchanted Violin" by Chamonix. Thank you, Soundhound!
When they say "full video" they mean not time lapsed. It ends in the same place never showing completion.
name of the song?
