@@BeesWaxMinder Chapter one (The Discovery) The VERY short version. In 1989-90 I lost everything, not just because of the financial crash but because it was clear that my Ulcerative Colitis was trying to kill me. So I ended up having to have all of my large intestine removed, and now being being unable to work for a year, and weighing less than a sparrow… I had tried to hand the keys to my shop back to the bank, but they informed me that unknown to me, my father had signed as guarantor for my mortgage… So if I declare bankruptcy, my parents would lose their home too! So now unable to take a year off, resting, trying to adapt to having shall we say a temporary ‘appliance’, I had to take any work I could… I lied through my teeth about my qualifications (I don’t have any) and even blagged being a bank-manager for six months (in the hope of borrowing some cheap money and perhaps saving my empire)… Ultimately I was told to leave the bank, and I ended up picking in a warehouse, but the exercise was great, and I did enjoy the luxury of being paid to daydream. It was there (Partco) where I met Tom. Tom was the typical pot-smoking spoiled rich-kid. We hit it off for the grand total of one week, perhaps because I am not a pot-smoker, nor am I a university-educated rich kid. I knew Tom for long enough to be invited back to his uncles house where he lived with his sister. As soon as I walked into Tom’s bedroom I pointed to the long table underneath the window and asked, “What’s under the sheet?” “Just my keyboard and music computer, I don’t use it “ It was a Commodore C64 running Cubase Pro-16, along with a Yamaha DX7 (mother keyboard) and a Casio CZ-101 (Strings), Yamaha FB-01 (Bass), Yamaha R100 reverb unit and all the cables….
