    I have mine. Getting a Stamparatus was the best decision Mrs. Helman helped me make. I'm not a card maker but it has helped me so much in my marketing for my craft business. I can repeat stamps on my bags, bag inserts, etc so quick and easily now. I get double the stamping in the same amount of time. You will have to pry mine from my cold dead hands.

    And people who don’t know what is going on will run out and buy a Misty when they can’t get ours anymore. I’d rather have no stamping platform than to give them my business.

    I'm soooooo glad I watched your video! I ordered it as soon as I watched. I had ordered a Misti and saw your video before it arrived. I was stuck between the two and decided on the Misti. It works. It's good. I decided to go ahead and grab the Stamparatus when I saw your video. I absolutely LOVE the Stamparatus. I'm so glad I got the Stamparatus!!! It makes things so easy for me. Thanks again!!

    Anna, it's just too bad that "other" company has chosen the legal route for an inferior product. It certainly does not make me want to purchase any of their product line. One can only hope that these legal issues will be settled and that the Stamparatus will once again be available for purchase. 🤐🇨🇦

    I missed getting one. Also tried to connect with some demonstrators I worked with in the past but they did not have any either. I had hoped they had purchased some extras knowing they would go fast. I started with wood mounted and never got the hang of the unmounted stamps. At our monthly stamp meeting, a member demonstrated it and the group felt this would really help my stamping.

I got hooked right away and order all the pieces along with the platform, I already own another name brand but never really took a liking to it. Anyway I just received my Stamparatus and I was pleased with it. It's nicely made and it's of good quality, and really sturdy. It was worth the investment.

    Legal problems seems to be an ongoing issue with the stamping platforms of all brands! My first stamping platform was a Fiskars brand, not a very successful experience. Then my husband gave me a Misti. That one worked beautifully! But there was a copyright issue with a company who pirated their design so they were unavailable for a while. Then Tim Holtz had a stamping platform, so I ordered two of them, one was for my sister. They worked well and I used both of the brands when I did card classes. But because I was a Stampin’Up demonstrator when the Stamparatus came out I preordered 2 and waited months to get them. When I used it in classes the results were not as clean or clear as they were used to getting with the other platforms. I was able to improve the results by moving the stamp away from the corner about 1/2” and by putting repositionalable adhesive on my card stock so it didn’t move when lifting the plate. I then ordered an extra set of plates to make it easier to leave my card in its original position and get great results! The second Stamparatus however, has never been out of the box! Hopefully they will get their legal issues resolved and have a new stamping platform.

    • @debbiesanfelippo5628
      @debbiesanfelippo5628 ปีที่แล้ว

      The legal issues are that My Sweet Petunia owns the patent for the MISTI and as required for patent, trademark, and copyright owners, continues to “police” its patent and identifies those who bring a product to market that appears to infringe on that intellectual property. This sometimes results in a lawsuit, as in the case of MSP vs. Tonic Studios regarding the Tim Holtz stamping platform, and MSP v. SU regarding the SU Stamparatus. SU has likely spent a small fortune defending that lawsuit, and since it it set for trial this December, is probably looking at all possibilities, including suffering a loss that would result in paying a LOT of money to MSP. If MSP were to obtain statutory damages that were calculated per infringement, per unit sold, etc., it could be a very large sum. It is possible that the decision not to have additional units manufactured until the lawsuit has been resolved was to put a cap on those damages. If MSP wins its lawsuit agains SU, then the Stamparatus will never come back. If MSP loses, then SU can resume having it manufactured and offered for sale.

    The woman that owns the Misti company as I understand goes after any company that makes a hinged platform, that's what she has her patent on. Even though she was not the first I understand to come up with a hinged stamp platform. And she's rather barracuda like, and not just in my opinion. Stampin' Up may well design a new non-hinged platform, and I hope they do. Unfortunately, it takes a lot of money to fight these types of lawsuits, and many companies like Tim Holtz/ Tonic are forced to buckle. It's sad, and these courts are not interested in "right" being done. This woman has a monopoly on hinged platforms, which isn't right. And doesn't believe in free enterprise. Okay, I'll get off my soap box now.

      Then I hope you are happy with that poorer quality product, and supporting a business that is only about making money. If the owner of Misti was really for encouraging this craft she would take note of the improvements that other companies like Stampin' Up have made and improve her product accordingly, and charge a fair (not inflated) price! Instead of just greedily taking them to court.

    • @1Bonvie
      @1Bonvie ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I have to disagree. It is not selfish or greedy. Misti spent a lot of time and money to develop and copy-protect their creation. It is just good business sense. Over the years I have found some companies are very viligant about protecting their unique products and brand, while others are not so much so. We say there's nothing much new under the sun, but when the Misti came out it was that new thing, and when others saw how it worked and its popularity they put their own spin on it and started producing items that were similar and not significantly different. If I created something, produced and marketed it, and someone made an aesthetic or design change but basically used my creation and started to sell it, if I had the resources I would do what I could to protect my copyrights.

    • @wandaspencer9523

      @@tabandken8562 I purchased the Tim Holtz platform a couple years before the Stamparatus came out. The Tim Holtz platform has a removable plate, one side for clear stamps, one side for cling stamps. Although it does not have the ability to do the step stamping it does make very clear impressions when stamping. The Stamparatus does have superior qualities with the two removable plates, and the step stamping. So I’m not sure of what the legal issues are, but I only know that I had and used the Tim Holtz platform before I became a demonstrator in 2017, and before the Stamparatus we introduced in the 2018-2019 catalogue.

I much prefer having purchasing options when I buy supplies (not just one product from only one company). This now will make it difficult for YTubers -- will you still be able to use the platform in your videos? "Competition" is never a good thing when it ends in such negative results. I am actually surprised that SU didn't continue the legal fight because to me, they have a good case. The MISTI plate isn't removable so you can do the row stamping. That's not what it is called, but I am tired. I would have thought that would have been enough of a difference to say it was unique, regardless.
    Anyway... I will never buy a MISTI. I have a Stamparatus, and I have 2 different platforms from Hampton Arts. One is the regular size, which is off the market due to a similar legal case. One is a large platform; not sure how they did it and not going to worry about it. Just glad they did.

  • @DellyDoo

    LOL. Iliana (owner/inventor of the MISTI) is just ridiculous. She's just going after everyone who makes Stamp Position tools. Guess SU got sick of being tied up in court. They could do what Tim Holtz did and continue to sell outside to U.S.
    I've been watching demos of Altenew's new tool and it looks promising (no hinges so they may be safe from the sue-happy lunatic), but it's about $100, so I likely won't get it any time soon. These craft companies are losing their minds with the pricing.

    It's a shame that Ebay allows people to "scalp" items like this. I've seen it happen with many other items as well. I guess it is what it is but imo, it's wrong and I feel it's stealing. That goes for people who ordered extras of the Stamparatus. They' did it so they could steal money from others (imo). As far as Stampin' Up and their Stamparatus, I know Tim Holtz got into trouble with his own stamping platform as well. Both the Tim Holtz stamp platform and the Stamparatus came out right after the MISTI. This is what happens if people don't follow copyright laws. I'm not saying that's what this is but I feel it has something to do with MISTI. Sorry, but that how it should be. U.S. companies shouldn't be like those Chinese craft stores and take other people's ideas and claim they're original. Yes, I'm sure I'll get numerous hateful comments but again, this is an OPINION.

    You are so kind Anna!
    I've been researching and debating about spending the money for one as it's difficult (& expensive) to get some of these top tools in Canada, so I missed out. I'll send an email but I'm probably several hours too late! 🤣 Anyways, thank you for the information and for all of your wonderful videos!

    I think the industry should go on strike and not buy anymore Misty's. There are enough stampers to go round. They shouldn't be so selfish. That's what's wrong with the world today

    I recently started following you and I kind of stumbled upon your previous video about the Stamparatus going away. I've thought about getting one for a while but wasn't in a hurry. Well, I ordered one that very night from my friend who is a demonstrator and she told me a few days later that they were GONE and lucky I ordered right away. I feel very fortunate to have gotten one. I'm so disappointed (disgusted, really) with the "other company" and their continued lawsuits. Really, as someone else mentioned, aren't there enough preferences and styles and tastes for the variety of products to go around?

    Always enjoy your videos.❤❤ At this point I think Stampin Up needs to deal with their shipping lead-times. My order placed on the day of the big sale will arrive on Wed. That's 2 weeks after the order was placed and 1.5 weeks to pick. This will repeat again I'm sure when ordering opens up for new catalog. The excuse is the unprecedented amount of orders does not hold up as this has been an issue for about half of my orders. Some picked and shipped within a day or two. Others take way too long. For reference they are in UT. I'm in AZ.

      I know what you mean. I have 5 orders on picking. I LIVE in UT. My Paper Pumpkin shipped before any of my orders. My first order was placed on April 5th and still hasn't shipped.🤦‍♀️

    • @k3of5ks
      @k3of5ks ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@withinkedfingers8971 I think the thing that is important here (from my perspective) is that this is an ongoing issue. This is the 3rd time this has happened to me and it's going to happen again at the beginning of May. The items I ordered are in the warehouse. They are not shipping from China. Not good business practice for Stampin' Up if they want to keep their client base. Loyalty only goes so far when customer service is weak.

      Yes I had a similar problem….Ordered on 4/4 early in the AM (about 7 am Eastern) and my order didn’t ship over 10 days and its coming on 4/20! Its also not like shipping is cheap either - it was like $15 for me. I know there are big demo’s who express ship but seriously, SU is an international company. When you have sales or specials or launches hire in temps so you can ship in a timely manor. I was just glad I got my Stamparatus 2 years ago - it was more versatile and affordable than the “others” and it was cheaper than a set of blocks!

    • @k3of5ks
      @k3of5ks ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mary-car Exactly. It was a Corporate decision to have the sale coincide with the new catalog launch and prioritizing demonstrators. I can understand if it were isolated but I think we shall see it again beginning of May. From a marketing perspective I think it's in Stampin Ups best interest to address this issue and hopefully correct it.

    I'm new at stamping and card making and I wasn't sure about using a platform for a while because of the high price... so I was using cheaper versions. But then I came across your video about how you were sad about the Stamparatus. At first I was watching but skeptical about this "amazing platform" but as you were showing all the things it could do I had to try it. I ordered from you and I'm really glad I did. Later I found out more about what the owner of the "original" platform was doing to every brand that it's making their platform that I'm so glad I never got that one because it's not as versatile as the one I have. Thank you for all your tips. I'm learning a lot. 😊

    Hi Anna! Thank you so very much for the heads up on the possible ways to get the Stamparatus. I tried to pick up a Stamparatus for my Card Ministry at Church, but yes, they sold out quickly. I have one and I love it! Its the best stamp positioning tool on the market, and if the rumors I've heard are true, I believe the Stamparatus is well worth fighting for. I won't share what I've heard...as I said they are rumors, and I'm not going to contact Stampin' Up about it either. I have a feeling they're getting enough blow back on this. I too hope they will either bring it back, or design something comparable. I think they'll have to work hard to top Stamparatus though. It's all in God's hands. I am one who emailed you as soon as your emil hit my in-box. Did I email soon enough? Well, only time will tell. Thank you for your heart for helping others, and for the possibility of some getting one of the Stamparatus'. What a shock that it's been discontinued. Like everyone else, I didn't see that one coming. You have a blessed day as well. Big Hugs❣️

    I bought one off of former demonstrator a few bucks cheaper several years ago. I do have 2 other stamping tools one of which is Tim Holtz, also not sold anymore for the same reason. I favor my stamparatus over my other 2. Thank you for sharing❤

    I had purchased a different stamping platform after seeing a Misti demo at the Scrapbooking Expo a few years ago. The one I purchased was considerably less expensive than the Misti and I figured “you get what you pay for” was the reason I did not have much luck using it.
    I found it cumbersome and not really worth the trouble. It has stayed in a drawer barely used for several years now.
    Fast forward a couple years to last month when I saw the video about the retirement of the Stamparatus. I was impressed with all the different ways you could use it! And it looked pretty simple. I had to have one.
    Naturally I overpaid for a used one on eBay, but I do not regret my decision. This tool is well made! And though there were a few miles on the one I purchased, it works great.
    This tool is one of the best investments I’ve ever made for my crafting equipment.
    Thank you, Anna!! I’m hooked on the Stamparatus!!

    Is a Stamparatis with a carrying bag for 159.00 a good price?

  • @1Bonvie

    Thank you for offering these and making them affordable. We are finding there is about a 1/2" gap at the side where the plate is placed. 1/4" gap when the mat is placed on the base. Is there any way to correct for this as we are unable to get polymer stamps to stamp fully without a lot of extra effort. We are centering the stamp onto the card stock so it is at least 2" from the edge. Thank you.
