Nahida(4) original self died, during the cataclysm, but was reborn as a new person entire existence has been erased. Furina(5) is technically clone of Forlore hydro Achon and the previous one died during the cataclysm. also, the current one killed herself and left their clone behind.
Leaving Fontaine was kinda bittersweet for me, that nation brought so many memories. But now, it's time for Natlan and no access to pyro element? That tells me the writing team is up to something.
OK, that actually makes sense, that means the previous Pyro Archon probably die during the Archon Wars, and previous Pyro Archons (humans) 500 years ago probably died of either old age or the cataclysm as well. The title of Pyro Archon has been replaced by , different generations of humans or dragons and is a tradition has been passed on hence the pilgrimage that means the winner becomes the next Pyro Archon.
