Beginning of summer I bought a Rev-it Eclipse, cream color. It was the only mesh jacket I could find that fit right. It is very comfortable to wear. When it starts showing dirty I pull the armor out and machine wash delicate and hang to dry. It does have textile down the middle of the back about 3 inch wide and I can feel a bit sweaty there sometimes. If I don't snap the neck button that peace will flop around in the wind at speed and does become annoying. Other than those 2 minor annoyances it is very comfortable. The armor stays in place and gets plenty of air flow through the jacket.
No experience with the jackets, but the Rocket gloves are still going strong with many years of use. The Harley branded gloves that I overpaid for, was opening up on the seams within about 6 months.
Went down in a mesh jacket pretty badly, had either a joe rocket analog or something similar, with their CE2 armor pads on my back, shoulder and elbow. Barely scratched.
Try to be visible. Don't run in their blind spots. If you can't see them in their mirrprs they can't see you. One mind set I have, and it might sound weird to some, is that I ride paranoid. But not to the point where I don't enjoy my ride. Everyone, no matter where they are on the road, even 6 lanes away going the other direction with a center curb, is a potential idiot that could kill you. Even the ones that aren't there yet. I was in the widow lane for a short distance and my spidey sense told me to switch lanes and just as I did a car came out, without looking, into that lane. Listen to yourself. If it feels uncomfortable..move. Light up and run your brights
All great advice. Thank you for sharing. Yes, I ride like everything is out to get me....cagers, road debris, animals, birds etc. It does not affect my enjoyment of riding, it is just something to always be aware of.
I personally own 2 Sportys. The "DK" Sporty, which really has not had anything done to it, except riding, in the last few years. So, I reckon you are asking about the other one, the SBS Chop Sporty. That bike is one of my largest embarrassments. I thought I would be done with it years ago, but time has not been my friend on getting that done. I am hoping to have time in 2023 to get it done....and we will be making videos along the way.
Maybe you mentioned (and I missed it), but which model is this? The Joe Rocket website lists a few (Phoenix 6.0, Gauge, Velocity, etc). Thanks in advance.
Good question, I do not think I did cover it. It is a Joe Rocket Black Resistor Mesh Jacket, utilizing a Combined HiTena™ RockTex™ 600 and FreeAir™ mesh hybrid outer shell.
Vanity I guess. My wife wears a white mesh to reflect the sun. I do not want to wear a white one or a fluorescent green one. Next time I will consider a gray one.
It does not protect against wind or cold like a leather jacket. But, depending on the leather jacket, the mesh with armor, will probably provide better protection than a leather jacket.
@@DKCustomProducts awesome information so I do plan on getting one they have a secondary jacket to where as well when I'm r i d i n g!! Awesome video content and I've ordered from your website and also any subscriber for life🏆😇👍
I’ve only bought one mesh jacket so far. Klim Induction jacket..thing does great as far as airflow. I don’t think it has as many pockets as the Joe Rocket.
Got the same jacket (mine is red with black trim) on Facebook marketplace for 25 bucks…..but a black mesh? In the sun? What are these guys thinking? Black is going to absorb the heat

Enjoy your ride!
Had a Joe Rocket jacket save my hide once. Barely any damage to the jacket...bike wasn't so lucky 🥵
Good deal.
I hope I never have to test it...but it is good for keeping the sun off and riding cooler in the summer. 👍
I like my Joe rocket jacket I have the florescent yellow and black and I use the inserted jacket on cold days it works well
Good deal, thank you for sharing, and glad you are enjoying it.

Good deal, I've been very happy with how the Rocket jackets have held up.
looks like a solid purchase
I am very happy with it so far! 👍

Good riding gear is a life saver!!!! Glad you were unharmed!!!
Love the "rain insert which I have no interest in" 1:44 long beard, old timer attitude. LOL I just don't give a f**k about rain either.
👍😎👍
Enjoy the wind!🏍
Nice new jacket, hoping that you wear this one out without testing it just like your last jacket.
YES, YES, YES! Thank you! 👍

Thanks for info. What type of riding pants do you recommend?
I wear kevlar lined jeans. There are a variety of companies that make them. Sliders is a brand I have a few of.

Question… assuming you switch to mesh in the summertime because of heat, why buy a black mesh jacket?
Vanity I guess. My wife wears a white mesh to reflect the sun. I do not want to wear a white one or a fluorescent green one. Next time I will consider a gray one.
I have a grey one which I think is not as hot as black but it shows lots of dirt and etc where black would not.
@Adam LaPierre Yeah, probably next one I will go with a lighter color. Thanks for your input.
Awesome video so I'm really looking to a mesh armor jacket!! Do you think that they're better than a heavy leather jacket??

Those are nice jackets, expensive too, I would imagine they are a very nice jacket!

Yeah, a silver one, or a white one like Mary has would be better. 👍
