Rákóczy Ferenc és kurucai emlékének megidézése. Szabadság, testvériség, egyenlőség! Amiben nem sok része van a magyarnak. Az elnyomás ellen megszólaló zenei tétel. Amiért mindig is harcoltunk.
Name any of the most famous historical pianists and compare to this one, each one didn'tpossess not even 30% of Vasary's technical skills, physical capabilities and methods to acquire all that.
@Musique3579 I couldn't agree more. Vásáry plays fantastically on this video, and he was 63 at the time! As a matter a fact, I saw him few months ago giving a lecture on Liszt and he played this piece as the last encore, and despite he is 78 now, he played with at least as much strength and musicality as on this video. He's incredible.
I grew up listening to Roberto Szidon playing the Rhapsody's cicle and only knew about the ossia when i saw the score. Szindon plays the thirds glissandi impecably, just like all the Rhapsodys... The problem with the 3ds glissandi is actually the last note because it should form a chord with the left hand and is very tricky get it, so everybody plays only the glissandi with un undefined ending (actually i never eared anyone play it the way is written...). I've studied this but the ending of the glissandi is very dificult to pull off the way is written...
Lovely performance, I like, Thank you- I learn de In lnglish linguage - I am brasilian, (ótimo eu adorei a interpretação, obrigado por postar, é incrivel e não tem nada de errado com o audio
The version that Horowitz made of this piece I had always thought could never be topped. But this? Incredible beyond words and such precision and exactness, not to mention musicianship. Splendid!!!!
Vásáry Tamás is it now a history! A great hungarian who play incredible and teach very well. A great family dynasty. Played from the greatest composer and virtuoso pianist Liszt Ferenc. Thank you that We are live!
This was the man in the interview about Cziffra. He spoke so lowly about himself. This interpretation is perfect. I could almost compare him with Michelangeli.
People at any age just do not get it-look at the response for Tamas Erdi who in my opinion is the most wonderful and beautiful pianist inside and outside. Dorothee
What an unbelievable talent he is. And still, he is 87 nowadays, and still great! God must blessed his hands!
Zseniális!

Amazing performance. This along with Cziffra's are my favorites.
I love that he doesnt play making stupid faces. It was so hard to find someone playing this piece without those damn silly faces.
Absolutely agree with you.
I understand that preference, but you know Liszt was known for such grimaces right?

Wow. I mean...wow. I've always loved Vasary, and now I know why.

Someone who actually does the glissando in thirds instead of taking the ossia 😂 Edit: Why do so many people, including CZIFFRA, take the ossia?

Magnificant performance from a maestro
Une des vidéos de piano les mieux filmées !!
C’est renversant d’arriver à une telle virtuosité !!
Mesteri maga a mű és interpretálása, de a végén az a teátrális karkörzés...
Jai Shree ram...How can I contact him... pls give me his or family email id,,,
Vasary, like Jorge Bolet, is a sadly underrated pianist, in my opinion.
2:19 Ez eléggé Hollywood-i filmes pillanat volt.

Che mostro!!! Wow....bravissimo..
like the coda - soft initial, then double octaves. liszt would approve

KÖSZÖNÖM SZÉPEN ! Csodálatos !
Heh. I feel pretty bad when I compare my version to his.
Great encore piece brilliantly played... :-]
A virtuóz és a kifinomult játék találkozása.

استاذ رائع
@chobeethaninov Haha well, I'd pawn my larger testicle if I were able to play like him, but I'm afraid that wouldn't work either! :)
People at any age just do not get it-look at the response for Tamas Erdi who in my opinion is the most wonderful and beautiful pianist inside and outside. Dorothee
Das ist genial gespielt
Csoda szépen jàtszik!
csodálatos!!!
..prelepo.. Bravo, i tri puta bravo!
Nagyon szép
If only he could control the tempo, he could add more color. “Loud and fast” get tiresome.
@1Thompsonmusic Please apologize, it was just some rude jesting... I just can't do without humour :)
A friend of Cziffra, you can hear some of his idiosyncrasies.
:) !
It can not be played better, amazing!
Te jo eg !!:) Ez fantasztikus ! Micsoda tehetseg !!:) Gratulalok :!)
