- The N2 north bound at Nandi Drive has been closed to traffic in Durban.
This follows a cash-in-transit robbery earlier Thursday morning.
Traffic has been severely affected and motorists have been advised to use alternate routes.
For the latest, we are joined by SABC News reporter Mlondi Radebe.

I have much respect for this gentleman.
The colonel is well spoken and seems knowledgeable regarding the current situation in the province. Very well presented.
They managed to stop looting but they fail to stop this.....🤷♂️ what does that tells you?
they need to think of a new kind of punishment jail aint working
Has anyone ever suggested transporting the money on helicopters 🚁 , surely someone thought of that but it's not happening. Why?, somebody please explain.
Stuck 4 hours in traffic 😡
Sry
Agree with the officer it's only when it's have cash,😢no day I ever that but the vehicle was empty 😢😢😢😢
Where do they get these guns?????
Wheeeeerrrrrrrreeeeeeeeee?????
Remember during the riots they stole a whole container full of ammunition. How did they know that the container had ammunition? All inside jobs. Honesty is more rare and more precious than gold.
something doesn't make sense, with all the military and police being employed there, hopefully it was not their plan to go looot for the last time, whilst in office 😂😢
Who do you think the perps are?..
It's the anc personal mobile ATMs. Nothing new.
This country is goih nowhere
It is going somewhere, but as it stands now, it is a bit scary.
@@marieslabbert6009 30 years it was directionless
Most of these cash carry vehicles are old and not roadworthy. As the Colonel rightfully says this is an inside job. Cover the cash vehicles with unmarked vehicles with armed personnel (front and back) Consider the use of drones for cash delivery (😅😅😅😅)
Mk at its best
Mk are helping tornado victims in Tongaat, stop making accusations
anc and eff trying to make it mk problem
Mk is looking for funds.

He he he I am laughing also. How many people are killed by Boko Haram in your Nigeria daily ? Hundreds at one time.Just last week 227 girls were abducted from a school in Northern Nigeria and still not found . Where are the about 250 girls abducted in Chibok ? For your information we read the news about Nigeria.

Used to work CIT... Problem comes with inside jobs.meaning ..Give a CIT guard R50000 for inside info and he'd do it.. Another problem is corruptible cops who know the King Pins but turn a blind eye,for the same reason that the CIT crew do.... Should bring back the jump method...I was trained at Chamdor all those years ago, seeing this happening on a almost daily basis, makes my blood boil..
The police 's cells phones must be tracked or confiscated to within a certain movement of them, you will find a lot of suspension amongst others
@@MasayitiMathebula yes if you do not follow the law,it must be so
They know exactly who are behind these heists and yet don't do anything about it. Stop lying to the people!!!
Don't lie to yourself .it's dangerous
Don't lie to yourself .it's dangerous
Bheki Cele's stepping down legacy
does this reporter even have a matric?
It's South Africa, so why not the policeman speak his mother tongue so he can express correctly and fluently the story, and they have English subtitles.
But why they allow everyone to have guns fill sorry for the victims
Not all police but bad apples
The country is rotten
Police involved
Clearly theres an inside man, someone supplying the guns..
Some they come from outside borders of SA
@@nobantumoeketsi9794 Even the ones doing the heists...they are trained
An underpaid "inside man" who knows he can die anytime in his risky job - wants an unofficial retirement cheque (if you know what I mean, I can't blame him) which is why no guard was killed, because they work together with the thieves.
The guns are supplied by all of us - directly or indirectly. Ask why the UK banned guns, not even their cops have guns (I think). The only way to stop CIT heists is to ban guns for everybody including cops - the soldiers must be trained in Robben Island and their guns must be manufactured there by an SOC (State Owned Company). Hard to smuggle guns onto the shore from the island.
Illegal foreigners
Ak47 are from china/russia
But where are the extra forces deployed to kzn?
They only deployed for MK
Behind MKp
Turned a blind eye!!
@@humblebeginningstv917 MK forces showing them flames remember looting? These guys are trained guerrillas, so they were showing them they have the upper hand
😂😂😂😂😂
I suspect it is them or their inside job because their numbers are there for Polocing unless otherwise....🫣🫣🫣
ALL PLANNED... ENRICHMENT SCHEME
Eish South Africa after the election --- a very stable democracy ------ hehehehehehe 😂😂😂
We need a new minister of police in this country.
We are getting one. Cele did not reach the cutoff point. He is out with 5 or 6 others.
You can change them a thousand times, but it will almost be impossible to successfully lower crime without that affecting the profit margins & viability of private security companies.
It needs not be said that they will not allow that. So clearly, there are too many players with vested interests in heists, armed robberies, hijackings & home invasions.
You sort of need a state of emergency to force a fresh kind of start for policing in South Africa. You also need more legislative protections for officers on the ground, so they may act boldly against criminality without concern for IPID, SAHRC & such other institutions that humanise criminals at the expense of law-abiding citizens.
In a very busy road like that ...but criminals did manage to do their work n finish without any police visible
Criminals rule in South Africa, thanks ANC!
Lol
😂
Yorrrr,that cop is sharp eh.......?
By the way who’s funding MK 🙋🏿♀️
What are you insinuating?
Who's funding DA????
Oh well that’s quite easy to answer RUSSIA AND GUPTAS , it’s a new communist party a very quick way to make the rich RICHER and the poor POORER, creating a huge gap in the population, there will be no middle class ONLY very rich and very poor, and looking at the nation that he speaks about I assume that is ONLY for ZULUs so please XHOSA people don’t get excited ZUMAs radical policies support ZULU not BLACK 😂😂😂
Idiot who's funding DA?
The people of the party 🫣🫣
Nothing we can do with organise crime' (INCLUDING) dispetch & area police.
Oh dear. The anc accessing their mobile ATMs again.
Ei, Why are you throwing propaganda around?? ANC members have access to your national treasury! Their corruption is through tenders. Which they hand over to their companies and family members..... this crime if you look into is foreigners and zulus that side at KZN
Too much talking about coalitions to actually fight crime and deal with the damage from the weather.
KZN is Afghanistan 😮
Mediocre reporter! Where do they get their training from?
Yeh,I thought that.
The cop not much better on Camara.
Hope he better at arresting the perps.
Which party needs money
Speak to the police officer following the cash vehicle
Deal with the police who are corrupt and those in companies involved
The police were following the cash car but the robbers manage to run away with the money,so all the time the police were watching the robbery and decided to call after the robbery WOW.
Police officer not officers what was he suppose to do alone🤷♂️
You have a listening problem. It was one Police officer facing guys caring high caliber rifles what was he gonna do? Life is not a John Wick movie.
@@OratileSetshedi how long does it take to robb a cash car if you were following it before the robbery took place?

The police are supposed to stop the crime not move away to safety when there is a robbery in progress.
He was out numbered didn't you hear that?
He was outnumbered and probably only had his service pistol while these dogs have full auto rifles.
@@Bluecollarjoe6B9 Oh so did he drive his civilian car during the time it happened?
rSa is doomed
😮😮😮
Such crime comes with the interior information shared from the police and including the workers as well as the security guards from were ever the truck is collecting or the depo security that knows the inside and outside vehicles
Probably same crew that hit the CIT near ifafa beach off ramp about 3 weeks ago
Security officers are the one who tip their friends about this heist
🤔 how the bank recover bye insurance company!!
They knew around that time there is going to be a change of shifts
3hrs in traffic 😢
We need the DA
End cash!
You'll be sorry if that happened.
You don't know what you're asking for...
Hehehe... I am laughing at SA. My ribs hurt so bad. Where are South Africans to see this, who always believe that Nigeria is not the true giant of Africa? I can confidently say Nigeria is safer than SA now.
Thank you.
What is the point
😅😅😅this can't be coming from a Nigerian, you people cannot even deal with boko haram. You have areas where your state cannot administer normal government services.
Come and take your brothers who are selling drugs here and causing unnecessary social decay. If SA was so unsafe your people would not be coming here in such large numbers, domkop
