If I do not engage in extensive virtue,
But accumulate a mass of negativities,
Thereafter, for ten million aeons
I will not hear even the words “higher realm”.

For that very reason the Buddha taught that
Just like a turtle placing its neck into
A yoke tossed about upon a vast ocean,
Merely becoming human is extremely difficult.
