- Scenes and pictures gallery from the Sergio Leone's spaghetti western "A Fistful of Dynamite aka Duck, You Sucker" (1971).
Music by the Great Ennio Morricone.
Starring: James Coburn as "Sean Mallory" and Rod Steiger as "Juan Miranda".
Brings back so many memories of my younger years .. loved James coburn .. one of the most underrated actors of all days .. he was perfect in this with rod Steiger .. classic classic classic.
"you shoot me and they'll have to alter the maps"
What I found interesting about this story was that the bandit Juan wasn't even trying to be a hero and just wanted to get rich with his crew but after the unfortunate tragedy and finding the general in the train who had What he and his crew would have taken and shared it among themselves he never took it in the end since he had no one to enjoy the riches with and became the revolutionary they needed by accident and the idealistic Dr Viega turned out to be the turncoat when Mallory found him while on the run witnesses how he gave up most of the rebels. How amazing is it that those who don't want part of some big view and only wanted the other things in life end up being the heroes while those who are supposed to be the future are the ones who become the villians either by force or greed.
Situations maketh the man or women. When Shxxt happens you find out who people really are and so do they.
Grande regia, grande colonna sonora e grandi attori. Proud to be italian!
James Coburn, one of the film heroes of my youth.
Our Man Flint. Z.O.W.I.E.
Great Escape, Magnificent Seven. Hell is for Heroes. Steve McQueen was in all three also.
Just Damn lovely. Watched it as a kid, loved it, still do. Watched it several times over the years. I’ll never tire of it.
Thanks for reminding me that another watch is looming.
As good as it is, it's pretty clear that it got rather mangled in editing, probably from studio interference. I really wish that there could be an extended cut if any of the original films still exist. Maybe Quintin Tarantino could make it and do it justice.
Some of the scenes were shot in the village of Medinaceli (Soria) during the summer of 1971 or 72. I was there and it was exciting times for us all !
Two Legends who will live for ever in our memories through such great films. RIP to both.
absolute legends
One of my favorites. Awesome soundtrack and great cinematography.
One of the greatest masterpieces of the History of cinema...
One of my favourate westerns ever
Marc Tremblay This isn't a Western
@@nibbabenis93 This particular current has been called Zapata Western. Don't judge a movie by its time and place setting to determine its genre, it has all the elements of a Western. It's like refusing to call Noir a movie which doesn't take place in 1950s LA.
DeadbeatDuder Never thought about it like that, you’re right.
one of the best movie Ive seen. Legendary scenes
All the elements here. Steger and Coeburn didnt even need to many words. Just the eye contact was incredible! Ad the greatest..Ennio Morricone soundtrack and WALAA..

I saw this at the drive in 1973. Th music has always stayed with me.
Saw it at the drive in as well in 1971, Southern California.
I have the dvd
Morricone, one of the all-time greats in creating tension through his music.
James corbin should have recieved many awards for this movie..
James Coburn
But You really right.
GREAT, GREAT, GREAT..... Sergio Leone and Ennio Morricone.
This is one of my most loved films! Masterpiece! I have watched it hundreds of times over the years
A good film, elevated to a great film by a wonderful Ennio Morricone soundtrack.
Que Hermosa película! Una de mis favoritas. Con Grandes Actores! Gracias por estos fragmentos.
Best of the best.Rod steiger and James Coburn were marvellous. But music, undoubtly excellent.l have watched this movie many times and l'm still watching it again and again in case l might have missed something.
Just listening to the soundtrack of this video, saddens me knowing that such a great actor, James Coburn is no longer with us...😢
A MASTERPIECE!
Surely 💯
Indeed, legendary movie
From an era when movies meant something.
actually my favorite music for a movie !
this is sublime
3:58 All of a sudden, John begins to whistle "his" musical theme; but what really takes the cake is the fact that Juan, not even seeing his buddy, instantly recognizes him by what's being whistled.
Sean to us .😉
This thing happened to me once in prison, I was in a corridor accompanied by the guards when suddenly and a friend of mine who I didn't know was here was whistling in his cell, I recognized him immediately and I started calling him. We burst out laughing at the same time.
Now THIS is a classic video compilation. The pictures at the end were just fantastic. Thanks so much
Once a year I lose myself in this film
I am not sure why
I could be the sheer scale of some of the scenes
Or the musical score I dont know.
But what I do know is that
This is my favourite film of all time
I am in my 56th year now and I still
Love this movie
I don’t know which part of the world you are from or who you are or what you look like or what your religious or political leanings are , but I totally get this. I am 50 years old and go through the same ritual with The Good The Bad and The Ugly. 🤘😂
Once Upon a Time in the Revolution
" Il était une fois la Révolution", Rod STEIGER, James COBURN. A master piece.
Because of this demolition man died all sons of main hero. Someone plays revolution in foreign country, native people try to survive. Great movie.
This movie is one of the Top ten of all times. Never again...farewell James Colbern you were one of the best.
+IPA SOLÉ James Cobalt is one of my top 5 actors!
It's COBURN
One of the greatest relatively unknown movies.
Under rated probably because it is part of such an iconic quintet of westerns and was not compared favourably. Possibly underrated because Leone was not keen to direct it at all I gather . The bandying about of titles (in an attempt to link it to either the dollar trilogy or Once Upon a Time in the West ) didn’t help it’s reputation and “
Duck You Sucker “ gets my vote as the best of the three . Its a great sweeping epic movie with a “star power “ driven relationship at its heart . And Morricone ,as always , delivers a score that lifts the movie to new artistic heights .
I personally think Once Upon a Time...The Revolution fits much better. "Duck, You Sucker" seems like the name of a cheezy film, while "A Fistful of Dynamite" sounds like a cheap knock-off of "A Fistful of Dollars", and this movie is certainly neither of those. Linking the movie to Once Upon a Time in the West is probably the best move, as both movies are a departure from Leone's fun-loving directing style in the Dollars trilogy.
It wasn't politically acceptable at time. It shows the balls of Leone. A genius at work.🍀
@@tacticalbacon7386 yeah the documentary is cool isn't it . duck you sucker.
Really nice montage of an absolute classic film. Made me smile.
Great film, deserved at least 8 oscars
Qustos fint films !!!
Love the pics at the end
The best of the spaghetti westerns.
Sergio Leone, regista immenso.
Merci. 😃
If motorcycles were invented even before, Wild West and Pancho Villa era would be even more legendary xD
Widely discussed movie with Sir Robbie Cullen and Uncle Colm O'Hallaran while working at Egan's in Dublin ages ago!
Needless to say widely acclaimed by the pair of them!
one of the best of its genre.
note especially the revolution scene.
Great movie great acting great music ❤
I need to watch this again as a teenager I never really knew what the story was about, just knew it had James Coburn in it and that was enough
I have view this film in theatre when I have 15 years old.. longtime ago ;) lol
Em novembro de 2024. Tenho o DVD desse filme com o nome de QUANDO EXPLODE A VINGANÇA. Ótimos trabalhos de James Coburn e Rod Steiger, direção do excelente Sergio Leone.
Che bellissimo film l'ho già visto 4 volte ❤❤
Couple of favs 👍🎰🏁🏁
at times you notice Leone's disinterest (he never intended to direct the film but reluctantly agreed after others dropped out)...but there are many moments where you witness his blinding genius, notably the night-time executions in the rain scene...Eli Wallach, though, would have been a far better Juan Miranda than Steiger
So many funny facts about this movie. Wallach had another project planned with Belmondo, so Leone begged Eli to join him until he cancelled that to free himself. But Steiger owed the studios one more movie, so they wouldn't produce it unless Rod starred as Juan. Leone never apologized to Wallach, which then sued.
I loved Eli as Tuco and would have been very happy to see him in another Leone movie, but I have to say I liked Steiger too, I really got attached to Miranda the way he came out. Plus, Sergio wanted Eastwood as John, if he had his way it would have looked to much like a Good, Bad & Ugly clone. The new cast contributes to make it stand out as a completely different movie, despite sharing the overall genre.
Nah, Eli Wallach isn’t half the actor Steiger is.
@@georgemorley1029 That may be so (although Steiger could ham it up with the best of them) - but for this film Wallach would have been a much better fit
@@hugodrax71 I feel like Wallach had more or less played that part/character enough times.
great clip, thanks!
Makes me wish I was Italian!
Cheers, mate. With all the organized crime and corrupt institutions and dishonest individuals we have, I still wouldn't trade the place I was born with everywhere else. There's just too much to love. Sure, the same can be said for a lot of other places, but I'm just too happy with what I have.
best of best.
Great vid ! I love the behind the scene's pics. like the way you put the music with that ! TY.
Ce n'est pas d'hier! J'étais bébé à l'époque! Rires.
It's not from yesterday! I was a baby then! Laughs.
One of my favorite movies, almost as close to for a few dollars more.
Can relate to both. Although part of my affection for A Few Dollars More probably comes from the presence of Lee Van Cliff, which I really like, and in the part of a tough but good man. Though, his motive and the final duel is worth an entire movie, it made my heart come out of my chest. Add Gian Maria Volonté and you have an instant masterpiece.
@@DeadbeatDuder I saw all of Leone's western in a cinema about 4-5 times each, with the exception of GBU that I saw only once there. And I liked them all, though my favourite was FFDM. But I can't understand why this movie flopped, especially in the USA.
thanks for posting. Very poignant. Good memories.
This was a favorite with my father and me.
O filme perfeito,inesquecível.
I wished they would make moves like this again
Loved James Coburn !
Semplicemente meraviglioso ❤
Simply admirable
Iya, cinta
Just so good.
That was absolutely brilliant my friend ;)
Cheers, Pete.
Coburn was a helluva an actor
Simply awesome movie.
Bravo!!!
Great movie
Che colonna sonora🏆🏆
"Duck you suckers" by Juan in Mesa Verde National Bank scene missing. =(((
Coburn is cool&charming.
This is not my favorite Sergio Leone movie, but it’s a Sergio Leone movie, so it’s a great movie.
A very deep movie, at the end, he looks up at God and asks " What about me?" after he has lost everyone he has ever loved and cared about, including his very dear friend.
brilliant mate
"Mesa Verde!"
Very nice !
wow!
Awesome
In My Top 5 of All Time Greats
We like explosions!
Oui tre baux film de ces années la avec une tre belle musique
Nice hats. Borsalino perhaps.
Viva la revolution,,,, so beautiful movie
Funny, sad, memorable, beutiful
Bravo!
There was a simpleness and honesty about this film...
Colburn was oo7 before there was 007 he always played the real cool cat god bless
Loved the 'Flint' movies.
Live by the boom, die by the boom ,excellent film
When a window opens, don't look to the one that's closed.
Classic
Montreal radio in the 70’s
Un film culte du très grand ART !
Almost cute with that tiny explosion
First time I saw this, I was shocked to find that its theme song had been hijacked by the great Montreal, Canada, FM radio station CHOM. Sounds more like CHOM, CHOM, CHOM than it does Sean, Sean, Sean, though, to be fair.
Quand tu as film pareil tu as envie d'aller voir un autre film, je ne vais plus au cinéma.
J adore
Os clássicos são eternos.
I miss old days...
