Thank you for the video. For nitrates my API test kit reads about double of what my Fluval and Salifert Freshwater Nitrate test kits read. There is too much shaking IMO on the API kit. Of these 3 kits the Salifert kit is the quickest. Note that Salifert has a separate test kit for freshwater and saltwater. Next time I go to a good fish store i will ask them to test my nitrates, then compare that reading to my test kits. I hope this helps some people.

Such a helpful video, thank you. Always easier to watch someone do it than read the instructions. This kit for me was much better than API or NT Labs.
Very interesting... I also use API. I will begin to use Sera for Nitrates moving forward. I suspect my nitrates may not be “as” high as I suspect. Great Video !!
Good info on test kit
I found it in Singapore where I live at US$11.50. Good price.
Very interesting. I tried the Salifert nitrate test to compare to API. API reads 40ppm , while the Salifert test read somewhere between 10ppm and 25ppm...something between barely pink to light pink 🤷🏼♂️. I’m guessing that it’s really more in the 15 to 20ppm range.

Sera has some of the most accurate tests available, even their test strips are fairly accurate
WOW! You would be done in half the steps with api! 6 drops then 6 drops and thats it! I dont like api to much, like you said its hard to tell and no low range tests. Like phosphates go from 0 to 0.25 when I think 0.03 is where you are supposed to be. I am speaking of a reef tank so not sure about fresh
FYI SERA step 5. Close the cover and shake vigorously for precisely 15 seconds.
