    Hello Everyone. I didn't mention the current world in this video in the hope that next April when people come back around to this video all of this will be a distant memory. Thank you for being such a great audience for the content I upload. Stay safe and thanks for watching.

    Loved where he said that he’s into building the soil, not the plants. If he takes care of building up the soil, it’ll take care of the plant.

      Hey- I have several honeysuckle plants that have been in their spot for 8+ years. I have kept them at bay, by pruning them every spring. I would like to take them down about 2 feet. Can I prune them down to the hardwood, and take out all the runners?
      Thanks.

    Thanks for sharing all the information that we’ll need for the growing season. My last frost date is normally end of May. Your grass is so green, here in Ontario people are ( not me, I only have a bowling stipe of grass ) crazy over their lawns. Love hearing your birds in the background, beautiful. 👍❤️😊

    Very helpful video! You’re right about not remembering where the heck some perennials are in the ground. Been there. Luckily now that we have started doing our garden tour videos we can finally recall and see what looked good or didn’t so we can address as needed.

    Can you possibly do a video on splitting iris? Or is it about the same as when you will be splitting your day lilies? I have iris planted by a previous home owner around my ac unit and mailbox and it is so overgrown that the root is showing and looks almost like ginger root I would buy from the grocery store. Any advice is helpful and appreciated! Love what you are doing, these videos are super helpful for us new gardeners!

    Jim, I have saved and planned on getting a long very long slope across the back yard planted by someone much younger than I am. Just can’t handle the Alabama clay anymore. I was ready a month ago and then the world changed. But, last week I called a guy that was very highly recommended to me and local. We talked and agreed to stay far away from each other. My point is, this young man was so thankful for the business. He is one of many small business owners and they need every dollar.

    I'm in NJ, zone 7A and have put my dahlias and gladiolus plants (not bulbs, they were started indoors) outside a couple days ago. It just took forever last year for my dahlias to bloom and I'm taking my chances to see if they'll make it and bloom early for me this year.

    No, Jim! I’m not done with March yet!!! Lol. Dang this has been a crazy month. In more than 1 way. Lots of rain here (we are 7+ inches over for YTD) but I’m not complaining. It just throws off most of my tasks. I hear NC is going on lock down Monday. Texas has been for a couple of weeks now. Yard work and closet cleaning is the best time chaser. Be safe and thanks for the BUSY month of April lists. Lol 👏🏻👏🏻🤣

    Have you done a video on Coral Honeysuckle? Living in Texas and have one plant, the other died. Wanting to replace it. I was told it should be trellised, being a vining plant.

    Thank you so much for all the super helpful content. I live on Cape Cod, zone 6B and I just adapt your timelines for my area and it works perfectly. I have a question for you. I have a fairly narrow side yard with a pea stone courtyard that I have recently created. It abuts neighbors that I would like some privacy from. There is currently a large limelight that does a pretty good job of providing privacy when it is in bloom. There is room behind it for something else but it it is in pretty deep shade as there are some tall cypress trees overhanging from my neighbors side. Any suggestions for a shade tolerant 4-5 foot or taller shrub/perennial to help fill this in? Thanks for the help. Happy gardening, Sharon

    Great video Jim very helpful. I just planted 18 encore azaleas about 3 days ago. Noticed today there are a bunch of small flies/gnat looking bugs on and around a few. Very very small... anything to worry about?

    • @goatgal7884
      @goatgal7884 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well, I'm not Jim.But I can give my 2 cents anyway, lol.Gnats probably came from where you bought the plants, they live in the soil.They will most likely just fly away, but you can spray with neem oil if you want.
