awesome you interviewed them. She set the bar for homesteading there. Loved living there while I did in the small yert.....we used to build ships in South Park...these guys are rocking the scene!
This is awesome! Thanks for sharing helpful information. We will share this with our customers for sure. We sell land in rural areas and this will help generate some great ideas. Thanks for creating this!
I don't know if you'll see this, but so happy to see your success as a content creator Eric!! When I went off social media in 2019, I thought I wouldn't see or hear from most people again. But here I am daydreaming about the 4 season greenhouses I want to build once we get our land in the inland NW and came upon your videos! Very inspirational and hope life's been going good for you 🙌
Started experimenting with solar about 2 years ago. While the upfront cost for lithium batteries is fairly high, personally I believe its worth it. Much more consistent power curve, they are more forgiving if capacity is dropped to near zero, and they do not need to be vented. They are however a bit more touchy if left in extreme cold or heat
Their glass bottle walls are really ugly. The rest is nice though, especially the mother figure over the fireplace. Also, digging down to create a greenhouse is mixing cold with hot, not very efficient.
Submerging the greenhouse into the ground helps it maintain an even temperature. It is very efficient. When you go 4-6 feet down the temperature is more stable throughout the year than being on the surface. Greenhouses are for extending the growing season not just accumulating heat.
Well Apparently you didn't do a whole lot of research or thought into your comment 🤔 UMM well I actually take that back, you put absolutely no thought and definitely not a single second of research, you didn't even bother Googling anything did you?? Get it together before you comment!! If you think it's ugly or if you just plain out don't like it,that's totally fine, but absolutely Do not spread false information about this type of building or construction, because even if you don't like or agree with it,there's tons upon tons of others that do,and look at other people's homes and experience for their own idea's 2 incorporate to make our own!! Maybe we will keep our footprints down some, and make a good living in a home we love, and it being our very own!! So please please do your research, the greenhouse thing is actually spot on,& they done amazing!!
I think of all the Earthship inspired videos I've seen; this one is the Most impressive.
Zuki and Nikki killing it! Crestone OGs!

Love the greenhouse!
I am commenting so this tour gets to more eyeballs! I LOVE the idea of earthships. They are my dream home
I drove through Crestone back in 97' and it seemed so deserted with for sale signs everywhere. So glad to see it come back to life in this way!
Marauders would love to take over this property
It is the dream. Crestone is that place. Shhhhhh
love the cat :)

Amazing 😻
Just found out that Crestone has hefty HOA fees! :(
Currently in the $500 a year range. I do believe they have some building restrictions also.
@@joannemoser6070 $500 a year is not "hefty."
The fees are not the issue so much. fuck an HOA and all their red tape
No way in hell would I be involved with a HOA,,,, especially in Colorado,,,
BTW. Texas has NO Building restrictions !!!!
Check out Roger Dean's underground homes he was the artist that did album covers for bands like yes amazing architecture
I understand Crestone has strict building codes in the Baca and high HOA costs. Are they outside the Baca?
They are in the Baca. But technically they are in the Chalets. Yes they have HOA fees. But I dont consider $400/yr to be expensive…
Hello I'm from India would you show us how to fix the bottles in the cob. Wall
Plastic bottles will decompose in the sunlight. So the planters will have holes.
Why did you not buy Nikki a beer in the first shot. Seems he talks only with beer!
I would like to get the 32 page booklet and kit, how can I get that???
You can find it at: www.theoffgridguru.com/shop
I am having trouble finding “Earthship Model Kit: Build-Able Paper Model”
Where can I find it?

Is that a Daniff doggie? ??!!!
The fireplace is a no for me.
THANK YOU! YOU NOTICED THAT TOO? !
How are they not getting in trouble for harvesting rain in Colorado. You can't have a tank over 55 gallons.
Shhhh 🤫
@@tinypear 🤣🤣🤣
Its whatever, the water laws are absolutely abhorent and corrupt anyways.
@@JXZ-JAM Ignore them.
Yes, how dare they use the resources gifted to us by our creator! Must pay for rain water!!!
I love the earthship idea and there are some really nice ones on youtube, but the look of the bottle walls just sets off a little trypophobia in me.
What's up with that Fireplace? It looks evil.
No guru. Not "survivalist...."
$15k including labor, my ass. You count your own time at a penny an hour? Gimme a break.
He means minus his own labor.
