      Thank you but what "reduced""standby"and"normal" mode means on the control switch near the power cord ??

      @@watacouille Due to various setups, the switch mode preference can differ from application to application. For the installation featured in this video, any mode selected at the switch will be overridden by Eco-Touch wall control panel. Thanks for the video. May I ask what type of ducts you purchased for this? I noticed the top was a oval male end

      Regular circular ducts were able to bend into shape with the help of the claps.

    I was going to ask the question that you answered right off the bat. What's the cost of a new filter? I have a friend that is thinking about building a new house like you. I will tell him to watch this video. Thanks for sharing.

    • @LittleMountainLife
      @LittleMountainLife  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The filter is washable so it shouldn't need to be replaced. Not sure how much a new one would be.

      @Fantechusa 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The standard filter in FLEX 100H is washable. You may consider upgrading it to a washable MERV8 filter. The kit consists of 2 filters. You can order it from one of our online distributors. Part #414923.

    i do have a question. i noticed that my fresh air intake is closed and the side door for exhaust is open wheter i put in on vent or recirculate. is that normal? or there is a problem with the damper door motor?

    • @LittleMountainLife

      Definitely sounds like a door malfunction.

    Seal it tight. Ventilate it right. If you lose power, just open some windows.

    Big thumbs up 👍
    Great job explaining how these work. One question though .
    Does it tie into heat and air or does it stand alone?

    • @LittleMountainLife
      @LittleMountainLife  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks!
      The HRV is it’s own thing.
      We don’t have central air. Heat is radiant in the floor and AC will be mini splits.

    Great information and thank you!!! Question: Is there sufficient "makeup air" for bathroom exhaust and kitchen range hoods to function? I'm building an air-tight home with in-floor radiant and using ductless mini-splits for cooling. I want an HRV due to climate (NW Wyoming at 5400 feet) as opposed to an ERV that may not function through the cold months. I'm struggling with how to provide enough air for these exhaust units to function-or am I worrying about nothing? I suspect there's sufficient fresh air (to function as "makeup air") from the HRV to do this? Thanks again.

    • @2209aug
      @2209aug 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know this is a bit late but this could help someone else at a later date. HRV's will not typically provide enough cfm to provide make-up air for a kitchen hood fan but can actually function as your bathroom fan if you wire up a timer to put the hrv in "high" mode. Kitchen hood fans will either need their own fan-powered makeup air unit (possibly heated - check your local codes) or another option is to have a recirculating hood fan with the appropriate filters on in and use the hrv to remove the stale kitchen air. I live in BC and our codes dictate that we have to exhaust the kitchen at 100CFM minimum, hence, it is necessary to size your hrv according to your space/use.

    Energy code makes you make house air tight ok to save energy but! If it to tight they make you add machine or you'll fail inspection this machine uses energy wheres the energy saving? Don't make house to tight try to explain to customers its not easy

    • @LittleMountainLife
      @LittleMountainLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Fantech HRV draws very little power.
      An air tight spray foamed home can still be more efficient than a traditional 'breathing' house, even with mechanical air exchange.
      It is a delicate balance though.

    How did you wire the low volt?

    • @LittleMountainLife
      @LittleMountainLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just ran a length of 14/2 Romex cable down to the controller in the utility mud room below and followed the wiring diagram included with the unit.
