Mardek RPG will be in a special part of my heart always. I have passed through countless hours of game and I really appreciate the artwork and songs. Animus was pretty hard to beat and I never got to beat the battle tbh
Thats pretty sad, I only got once to animus, as A child i tried to not to use guides much because it kind of felt like cheating, this combined with how much work it is to get to him I just didnt even though i did multiple campaigns over the years, before flash died I did another, the last and best one because I got to him and defeated him too. Astral Citadel was nice, honestly compared to Karnos he wasnt so wow or dificult really but the feeling of finding something new after so many years was priceless.
Note to general strangers passing by: Even if by some chance you survive, suffering a -10 Agility loss on everyone can screw around with turn order significantly! And if you are an idiot and have Auto Haste (which is NOT dispelled from the attack, correct me if I'm wrong), Animus WILL keep spamming Delay Buster! Null Air and Spell Resist 30% will not save you effectively here. Also, unless I'm mistaken, Karnos is able to use Delay Buster as well, if he is currently using the Air Element.
Thanks for uploading the amazing soundtrack. MARDEK is surely the best game ever, and it is a shame that Pseudolonewolf has abandoned the original story. I just hope someone skilled, will continue the origial series one day. Anyway keep uploading music tracks and boss battles from the game:)
+MassLP Well the reboot, that is now called Taming Dreams is based uppon the original MARDEK, and most characters have retained their names. However the plot is slightly different. It is more about psycological proplems and social experience. The GdM (now called the atonae) are no longer aliens but gods instead, and there are also no spaceships. However in my opinion Taming Dreams is also interesting. I would just like to have both this and the old MARDEK continued at the same time. But you can't have everything you want unfortunately.
Seriously, is there any MARDEK fan who is a skilled flash programmer and would be interested in doing this? The developer has stated that he would support something like that provided that he gets royalties. If he is also willing to provide some minimal help with the direction of the story and the current assets it might be a good deal. I would do it myself but I don't really know flash. Maybe if it was on Unity or HTML5... EDIT: Also, sure it won't be the same, but based on the dev's posts for the last decade or so I think it's extremely unlikely he will ever finish it himself.
i know that your comment is pretty old now but still, don't forget even if psedu will give directions to the story, creating original music and jokes alongside the story animation and stuff isn't easy and will probably have high expectations just because of the name alongside all those things he will need to pay royalties to something that can end up a disaster and waste hours of work, someone is better off just making a game like it
I encountered Animus only once throught my campaings over the years but I beat him, it was a challange but not as difficult as some would have you believe, by that point you should have a solid team. I wish there were more easter eggs and secrets to explore in MARDEK like this, honestly the 2 areas and the lore is great, no way better, it is a gem. Is it only me who made 100% of encyclopedia? Man I loved catching all entries.
I recently 100%'d the entire game aswell, including keeping the Serpent's Scale as a Plot Item (by using Aqualung on mardek at the end of chapter 2, never touching a save crystal until you rush to the water temple, dont forget the gemmine dreamstone)
@@tristankoot2348 Man I appreciate your input and probably it seemed to you like a challange but this is rtarded, the game is not supposed to be played like that, I dont want to know how you went from chapter 2 to water temple without saving ones, given how anything can happen then all progress is lost.
There's a project made to port the first 3 games to Unity already, and then from that, make the sequels this game always needed. MURP --> Mardek Unity Revival Project (there's a discord)
Oh, Karnos and Animus were really fun bosses to fight. Karnos was much harder though, and I won by pure luck with only Mardek left alive. Damn elemental shift.
It took me a lot of tries to beat Karnos. He has a bigger variety of attacks than Animus, has more health, has high STR, AGL and SPR stats, puts up Elemental nulls, can shift elements which makes some of your attacks useless, also it makes him much less predictable. And he has haste, so most of the time you won't even get a chance to put up an elemental null. Putting up any positive status effects, such as Shields and Haste are pretty much suicide since he has highly damaging attacks that remove them and, to make things worse, they target your entire party. And pray that he doesn't Elemental Shift into Fig or Aether because there aren't any skills that nullify these elements, aside from Rainbow Juice. Animus also had some of the stuff Karnos had, like elemental nulls and status effect breaking spells, but other than that he wasn't that bad. You just needed equipment with some elemental resistance, especially against aether, and spam Gloria's Whirlpool to reduce his SPR stat to 0. He only uses magic attacks, so once his SPR is at 0, he won't be able to do any damage, aside from Soulstorm Alpha/Gamma/Omega, but with enough Aether resistance they won't be able to kill you. Karnos just has a more versatile moveset.

Meh, this is the best game i ever played. 11/10
Entering animus with the auto haste accessory and getting the entire team blasted on turn one sure was fun

The Undead dragon what fun boss.
This track doesn't play for the Undead Dragon though? This is only used for the Annihilator bosses.
