Seems I was there during your stay, I camped in LaPosa south, met the most wonderful folks. I left just a couple of weeks ago and can't wait to return later in the year during fall.
We had such a good time. It's definitely different from what we're used to, but that makes it more fun! Hope you keep watching our journey. Thanks for watching
It's only very wild if you're not set up with proper equipment. It's pretty easy if you're boondocking capable. We had a blast! Planned 2 weeks but stayed 2 months & made incredible friends!
We’ve watched so many videos about Quartzite that we were hesitant to watch another, but we really learned some new information from your video! Thank you!
Thanks so much for such a nice comment! Unfortunately we've moved on to Texas but when we get back to Quartzsite we'll be sure to show more of the shops. Cheers!
We loved Quartzsite last year! We planned 2 weeks but stayed 2 months after meeting so many friends. We're excited about going back at some point this winter. I conquer with the wind being often! We really enjoyed the night sky & all the stars you can see!
This was very well done! We are considering going to the Quartzsite RV show next year. I appreciate your thorough review of desert camping, it was very helpful in understanding the set up. Just found you, new subscriber. - Jim & Michelle / Airstreamer
We Love Quartzsite We camped North 3 mile from Quartzsite. It was awesome we met people from all over this World. Than we went into Phoenix BLM north of town. You watch the BIG BALLOONS HOT AIR BALLOONS they come right beside you. Its crazy. Beautiful Balloons.. You can hear someone driving around witch made me uneasy. But over all I love to watch people. So many different human beans. Oh Hi Jolly is the name of.
Everyone we met was great. We hope to spend more time there next time we visit. We have so much left to see. Thanks for watching! We hope you'll keep following along!
Hi Tina and Cory, I was surfing and came upon this video. Well done! If I decide to go to Q this winter, it will be my 1st time and I am on the hunt for lots if info ~ as I am new to this RV stuff. I bought an older class c during Covid and have used it 2xs! I live in the mountains and the winters are brutal so I'd like to get away this season . . . but the thought of trave, ing alone is hard for me to think about. I plan to watch more of your vids today, Thanks Gretchen (I subscribed) ;-)
Thanks so much Gretchen 🙏 We're so happy to hear that you are considering doing some more exploring. There's so much to see and experience. Keep us updated in the comments about how you're making out, we'd love to hear your stories!
Hey guys. Just found your channel. What an awesome channel yall have. Very informative. We are planning on making a trip out there in the next year or 2. Thanks for-all the great information. Safe travels and happy camping.
great information, we are thinking about Quartzite next winter. Curious... you said if you had more time, you'd stay another week... were there specific things you would want to do or see while there... or in the area?
For us, we really enjoyed the quiet and open space after spending so much time in large RV resorts. We like to do a mix of stays and we would have liked more time to just relax for a bit and enjoy the peace and quiet. Some of the tent shops weren't open yet either when we were there and the annual RV show is on our to do list. Hopefully you enjoy it if you decide to give it a try. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to leave a comment 😁
It's not for everyone. We love the desert landscape but some find it too boring. We enjoyed it because of the quiet and space and found it relaxing. We wouldn't spend a whole winter there but would like to go back for a few weeks. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. Enjoy your travels!
Thank you, we are going for the first time this year. Around time stamp 5:20 you mentioned about a neighbour warning you about which way you should park your RV for strong winds, did I miss it, or can you advise what the best way is please?
When we arrived, our neighbor pulled up a wind forecast for us for the next few days and a compass and told us which way to park. We couldn't say which way that actually was now, but if/when we go back, we'll do the same and use a trusty wind/weather app and compass. We hope you'll love your first visit this year, and come back here to the comments section and let us know how you're enjoying it. Thanks for watching!
I was there in Jan and Feb for my first time and i really enjoyed it. Both the open desert and even the small town of Q. Had dinner at Silly Al's, Quartzsite yacht club, and definitely hit the outside market and BigTent RV show. Met some great people, looked for meetups, like the RTR and went to the "All you can eat" fish fry in Bouse, AZ. Made a day trip to Blythe and surrounding little towns. This place is how you make it, my neighbor on Plomosa rd waa from California and he stays about 30 days and never leaves the desert, while the family next to me from Michigan with 3 kids like to hit town and take mini trips to surrounding towns and desert trails, so to each there own but theres reason almost a million people come to Quartzsite eveey year. I'll be back again in 2025! Great little video.
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Quartzsite is a different experience than we were used to but we are looking forward to returning. It may not be everyone's cup of tea but we met great people and had a really good experience. You are right that it's what you make it for sure. Cheers!
We’re also Canadians & plan to travel North America! Summers in Canada & Winters in the southern states starting this April. I’m conflicted about Quartize, we have a large dog who needs lots of walks & I worry about prickly things hurting his paws. But I also would like to experience it! Happy Travels & maybe our paths will cross.
If you stay on the paths and away from the brush areas you should be fine in Quartzsite. We had no issues with our dog and lots of people have their pets with them. Safe travels. Enjoy your journey and thank you for watching!!!
Some people believe that BLM Land is owned by the government. Wrong, BLM land is public (taxpayers land) that is administered by the government. The same is true with the U S Forest Service land and national parks land. The citizens of America are the land owners.
That's basic civics; how is it that is news to you? I want public resources scientifically managed and protected by federal agencies. Profiteering corporations and individual greediness are a threat to these shared resources.
I believe the wind was coming out of the north west, but from what we understand the winds can change there, so it's always best to check the forecast when you arrive. We didn't and got lucky to meet a couple of neighbors that gave us some great advice. Enjoy your time there!
We never did have a wood fire when we were there, so can't say unfortunately. We did use our propane fire pit and it was really nice to watch the sun go down sitting by the fore. Absolutely beautiful sunsets!!!
Love your video on Quartzsite Question in mind is solar or generator at the time? Wife and I have been thinking about doing are next trip there this year your information is a plus.
Well done video, I shared it on FB. One suggestion is to consider a modest 400 watt solar system to keep the batteries charged, since running a generator for hours charging batteries can be very annoying to neighbors. Someone told me years ago you can save a lot of money on solar if you're willing to run the generator for those high current appliances like your microwave and hair dryer. Our rig came with a stock 1000 watt inverter for the TVs that I plug extension cords into for my CPAP, computer and a desk lamp. Upgraded to 2 - 100 AH lithium batteries a year ago and have never run out of power for the furnace motor, inverter, etc.
We didn't experience any issues. I think it was a little too cool for the snakes and scorpions, thank god!!! We did hear coyotes in the distance, so I'd be wary of leaving pets unattended. Thanks so much for your comment, it's greatly appreciated. Safe travels!!!
It's not hard to live on a super low budget... I lived pooping in bags, peeing in gallon water bottles, ate minimally on acceptable but healthy resources, and worked side hustles as a hand person using all the Harbor Freight tools I had. Made it work. It's not hard if you can enjoy being content with that culture and lifestyle.
Not sure about that one as far as the stickers go. Many people there are also bringing extra vehicles such as motorcycles, quads, atv's. Don't think you'll have any issues at all. Safe travels!
Are some spots “reserved” for people who come back every year and want the same spot? How is that handled? I would think it would be a first come first serve basis, but I know how territorial people can get.😂
We are going for the first time this fall and winter. If there is anything else please let me know thanks. You really didn't say what way to park the rig.
Our neighbors had a wind forecast app and they let us know which way to park. I would get a wind forecast app and make your decision on that as it can change
Quartzsite is a gem for camping under the desert skies. I've camped there on BLM land for about 10 years and always picked my trip agenda to coincide with the "Pow Wow" gem & mineral show and giant swap meet...usually about the end of JAN each year. Nice people. Never had any trouble although the AZ DPS and local sheriff are around just in case. My two daughters were in grade school and loved the lifestyle. Now in their late 30's they still reminisce about those trips. Thanks for posting. Happy you enjoyed your stay in AZ.
You can camp however you like. If you are not self contained (no washroom, running water) you will have to set up camp within a certain distance of vault toilets. Believe it's 500 feet but not positive. You'll have to double check.
Blythe has some shopping, a couple of markets, dollar stores and places to eat. Still no bigger chain stores but there is some stuff there. Thanks for watching
If you don't mind being forced indoors when you want to sit out and watch the sunset because people run unenclosed noisy generators, this place is the perfect setting.
Sorry that was your experience. We didn't have any neighbors close enough to hear generators. It was THE quietest place we've been. Thanks for watching!
We didn't run into generators at night with anyone near us. When people used them it was during the day. Perhaps remind them of quiet times set by ltva
Thanks for the review, did not know about the winds, it’s off our list. My wife kinda likes the desert scenery but we both hate the wind. Was thinking about a week stay on the way to Phoenix.
Yes there are. However, we were told that it's too cool in the winter generally for them to come out. Not sure if that's true but we didn't see anything at all there.
Where your at has 3 towers, one in town and one on the west mountain and one on the east mountain. Next time check out Main Street trading post/outback pizza. I used to live there for 2 years
Not everyone will love it, that's for sure. Many people enjoy off roading, the big rv tent show, local shopping. We enjoyed it for the short time we were there for the peace and tranquility. We look forward to getting back there for a stint although even for us an entire winter there would be too long and boring. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. We hope you'll check some of our other videos, there's probably something that would interest you more. Safe travels. Cheers!
So far, this is only being looked at and has NOT been implemented yet. They are looking at increasing rates up to $600 and are collecting feedback now. We received a letter asking for input and you may as well. Make your thoughts known. $600 seems like an excessive increase. Hopefully we'll end up lower than that but either way this 2024/2025 season should be unaffected
One thing about Quartzite … NOT … Handicap Accessible for the huge swap meet etc … Very Rocky / Pebblely walkways … If using a Walker it would be absolutely IMPOSSIBLE … dirt is uneven … PLEASE PLEASE … Put YOUR INPUT .. Make it a true Dream AVAILABLE REALITY for us … DISABLED folks … ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💯💯🌹🌹🙏🙏🎊🙏🙏🦋🦋🌴🌴🌴🌴🌵🌵
@@tinaandcory Thank you so much for understanding … If walkways … paths .etc etc are rough … It becomes a huge issue of “”walkers / canes // scooters etc “” … even folks who “walk without aids” … can possibly create a “”slip / trip / stumble and fall hard episode … “” … Would hate to see anyone have this happen to them … Concrete pathways would be too expensive yet so smooth … But even an paved asphalt pathway would so easily ease our fears of tripping and falling etc … I became handicapped “suddenly and out of the blue” … Now I 💯💯💯🙏🙏 exactly know and understand of others disabilities now … We all struggle yet we want to be a part and truly enjoy all places … just as everyone else does … Thanks so much for your support and comment … Sure means a lot to me and probably to many others … YOU JUST MADE MY NIGHT❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😁😁🙏🙏🦋🦋🌴🌴🌴🌴🌵🌵🎊
We like those things as well, but we also appreciate the unique landscape of the desert too. If you're looking for water check out our Destin, Banff, cross Canada videos...it might be more of your thing. Thanks so much for watching!
I’m sure my opinion is going to make a lot of people mad but I don’t care. I’ve seen many videos on Quartzsite with lots of drone footage flying over the area. What do I see? I whole bunch of anti-sociable people. Parked as far away from everybody else as they can get, then they sit outside by themselves and stare at dirt and pretend their camping and having fun. Quartzsite itself is a hole in the wall and nothing more then a big garage sale.
Nobody should be mad...to each his own. It's not for everyone for sure but we enjoyed it quite a bit. We met several friendly outgoing people there and having some space to yourself for a while was nice. Thanks so much for watching!
Well, all we can say is thanks for checking out the video, even though Quartzsite isn't your cup of tea! We always appreciate hearing everyone's opinions. Hopefully you will check out some of our other videos that show off some other destinations we visit. Check out our Banff video next, we'd love to hear your thoughts on that one. Safe travels and happy camping!!! 🙏❤️😀

Check out Dome Rock BLM area. Very easy to get to and very good roads. As well as can be expected anyway! 😅
Thanks for the recommendation!
Sit and watch the cactus grow. Probably not for me.
Cheers!
The price to camp the whole season is going up to $600. So save your dollars all year
So far, this is only being looked at and has NOT been implemented yet. They are looking at increasing rates up to $600 and are collecting feedback now. We received a letter asking for input and you may as well. Make your thoughts known. $600 seems like an excessive increase. Hopefully we'll end up lower than that but either way this 2024/2025 season should be unaffected
Canadian accent.
That's right eh? 🤣
That's not something that we noticed but makes sense the way you put it. Hopefully they can figure something out to help everyone enjoy this area.
No Ocean lake or river not for me
We like those things as well, but we also appreciate the unique landscape of the desert too. If you're looking for water check out our Destin, Banff, cross Canada videos...it might be more of your thing. Thanks so much for watching!
And most of the "campers" are employers, there the only ones who could afford expensive rigs and so much time off work.
We found many people from all walks of life. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
You probably don't want to go to Quartzsite, Arizona. . .
Not a fan?
Umm all I can say is NO thank you. I’ll just stay up in my Rocky Mountains of Colorado and Wyoming for camping.
I'm sure that's magnificent for camping. Certainly less dusty.
