@@bw2082 The ‘Dissonance’ opens in a truly astonishing manner, but Haydn’s ‘Sunrise’ has a sublime melody as well; both are great, but in different ways.
Oh I agree! A friend of mine, who told me she totally dislikes Haydn, sat next to me one day. I said to her: "guess the composer!" I played this piece. She guessed Beethoven. Even considered Schubert. I told her it was written by Haydn. She was overwhelmed.
@maria_aleja28 researched about the sheet that they used on "Sunrise" and apparently, the original piece was made in 1797. String quartets, OP. 76 (Haydn) the N.4 is what we saw on MV. And it has the same 4 changes. I dunno but they are legit into classical music. Source: Gfriend Buddy Philippines
Why is it that Haydn will always be regarded as the lightweight of the great Holy Trinity? Is it because his music has a generally more sunny, genial aspect than the tragic tempestuousness of Mozart or Beethoven? 🙂
I am sorry, I have never heard any compositions of GFriend. But what is the hype about? That they showed a piece of the music sheet of Haydn's Opus 76, no. 4? I heard this song of Gfriend named 'Sunrise' being mentioned in the comments section, and frankly it seemed not even close to inspiring. Wonder what is so great about that? This is like celebrating a little lab assistant for just referencing (in other words trying to show off) Einstein's relativity equation on a board. The genius of which neither can he comprehend completely, nor can he imitate.
It's a Korean girlgroup. The thing that amazes a lot of people is that GFriend had used some of classical piece for their songs. Example: they used some parts of Dichterliebe Op. 48 no.1 for their music video named "Summer Rain". As for this Haydn piece, I believe that they inspired by the way of building up the tension, especially in 0:55 which resembles their "Sunrise" music video at the end part.
What they mean is Korean girl group GFRIEND, they use this sheet in their music video "sunrise". A little different from other Korean idols, GFRIEND's music uses a lot of real and classical instruments and now they are introducing their fans to Haydn
Probably the greatest opening to any piece of chamber music by any composer; inspired, original and beautiful.
Couldn't agree more, it really is hypnotizing right from the first chord.
The dissonance quartet disagrees.

I don't understand this either. Even some significant figures like Richter considered Haydn better than Mozart.
Who the hell is Gfriend
First violinist plays g instead of g-flat in bars 43 and 58 of the Finale. (Doesn't sound bad, though.)
Is g natural , but In that score It doesnt appears

GFtiend is a korean girl group. They used printable sheet music of this song on their song called Sunrise. It's only for MV not the song.

I can't hear the "Sunrise" part
the 'rising' feel of the intro
It's a pretty remote epithet added by some 19th century Romanticism addict probably. It certainly doesn't fit this quartet, rising theme or not!
