I have the Canon Legria HFM 31. I believe this 406 model is slightly newer than the HFM31? I noticed in your setting it has a stabilization option in the menu. My 31 does not.
Yeah, oh wow. The camera was bought in 2012 so it's likely a model from 2011 or earlier. It does have a ton of sentimental value, but definitely not being used much nowadays.
@@RogerinFinland A question I have for you is what could be the turning point for me between my camera and this one. Does it have a 'dynamic stabilization' setting in the menu or is it just the power IS button which is what I have. The powered IS button is good but every time you turn the camera off it doesn't stay on. The dynamic stabilization setting on the newer cameras stay on even when you turn the camera off and back on again. It doesn't reset itself unless you manually change it yourself which is what I like. What does this camera have in that department? I think I saw a image stabilization setting in your menu but couldn't see an option in there once you clicked into it.
😅 I was lucky on two accounts: - I had no idea about cameras or what a good shot is - Our friend seemed to have a knack for it and the shots were more than decent!

Not sure and it would take quite a bit to fish it from the closet, charge etc. Regardless, I wouldn't recommend it as a new buy in 2023 the technology and image quality are massively outdated.

As a cameraman, I assumed getting "a few good shots" was easy for everyone. And then I gave the camcorder to my uncle to "get a few good shots". OMG.
😅

you should of used the 25PF mode instead of the 50i. Nowadays interlaced video sucks
Yeah, nah. Meaning, it doesn't matter. This was a nostalgic review, not that I use that camera anymore for anything 😬😊
It's so sad I don’t know u 10 yers ago - I would’ve be proud to shoot your wedding day and make a nice wedding film for you and your relatives 😉👍
Thanks!!
I'm still very happy how our DIY unexpected solution worked out 😁😊
