Wonderful Sara! Enjoy it! I appreciate your comment very much, we're selling the house, so I'm sorry for the late reply, I'll be slower until we get through this ;)
Attempting this, but I did not have the half round only round 18. I can see now how important the square so it is for ease. I think I work hard and my wire too much with the way I straightened it (generating torsion with a drill slowly until it was straight) because just using the nylon plyers i couldnt get them straight
Yes, using a drill to straighten your wire is making the wire very hard. You don't need it perfectly straight, just get the lumps and warps out with the Nylon jaw. In most cases, you can simply work the wire straight with your hands. If you make the wire hard by drill, then you are making it harder on yourself for sure, to work this simple design. Hard wire is needed sometimes, but not for this curly work... curly work, wire wrapping, most of us use Dead Soft or Half Hard wire but not hard hard wire... I hope this helps you! Thank you for your comment.
And PS... don't be afraid to work with soft wire... as we wrap it around the stone and hand work it, it actually IS getting harder (work hardening) as we build. Many times after the build is finished, we can harden more by gentle pressure (with nylon jaws on the wire) or in some cases (be careful to check your stone if it's hard enough) but some people tumble their pieces to harden afterward too, I do not tumble my work but wanted to give you options. ;)
They should work, but you might also consider a slightly smaller stone or adding an additional 20g wire, I think the tutorial uses 3 wires at 18g, use 4 wires at 20g. Let me know how it goes! Have fun!
love this!!

Could I use round wire for this? Or would it not look right ?
Thanks Amy, it's hard to tell in the picture, but that is round wire, so you're all set! Square wire would also work, by the way. Have fun!

Will this work with 20g square and 22g half round? Or are those too small?

will this work with a more flat rock? i’m new to wire wrapping.
Yes, it will Skyler. Enjoy!
Great video but just wanted you to know that I am not a fan of the music.
Thank you so much, I'm working on better music.
