    This is insane! An apartment that big would be like $10,000 US minimum in NYC. Even without a roommate that's still way more affordable!

      @Carol yeah but 10k deposit that u get back and $500 rent vs 5k deposit (or more) and 10k rent?! that’s so much better

    • @WhatIsThis-zq4hk
      @WhatIsThis-zq4hk 2 ปีที่แล้ว +57

      @Carol Except that it really is that cheap. The key money isn’t a big deal if you’ve been saving for a while and you can just get a low interest loan to cover the rest like he did. Korean apartments are absolutely much much much cheaper than western Apartment

  • @ThizisDanny

    This video was made a while ago. The prices went up (crazily) and now it’s going downs again but here are some things to clarify so some of you don’t get confused!
    1. I took a loan to lease the place ( explained the system in the video)
    The interest for the loan was roughly $320 per month back then. including utilities it was $650. I have a roommate so it’s $325 each for 2 people. I just wrote $500 to include extra living costs like internet, insurance and etc.
    2. To do Jeonse( Korean lease system) you need to pay 50-80% of the price of the house and back then it was ($241,000)-which is much cheaper compared to Seoul. You could get bank loan up to 80% of this amount. So We needed to prepare minimum of $24,200 each as deposit. ( which was just a little more than my deposits in Seoul for a small apartment)
    3. To rent this place back then, it was $24200 deposit and $1000 per month as rent.
    4. Now the interest rate doubled so it’s extra $160 each. I pay around $600 per month for the house including everything. The overall prices even in Incheon went up along with everywhere else in Korea. But now it’s going down again.
    Hopes this clears some of the questions!! I’ll make a new video soon on housing!!

    Do they also do 2-bedrooms? bc I wouldn't want a roommate, if I can avoid it.... I'm still (kind of) locked into a lease here, which I could probably sublease, in a pinch, so I won't be moving to Korea for a "minute," but..........
    (Btw, you could be an Ambassador for each place you've vlogged from! If you have to LIVE in a place to be an Ambassador, then I hope the Incheon powers-that-be are paying attention to you! GL, Dan!)

Here the in USA it would cost about $3209 to$ 5000 depending on the neighborhood, utilities, and etcetera. The down payment is also either a $1000. That's if they hold your place. I heard too many horrible stories about that here in my homestate as well other states in the United States. The most landlords be on BS. From where I am at.

    Incheon is THE place to live. It's only 17 miles or 27 km from Seoul. Incheon has an international airport and is by the ocean with many ocean view Apts. It's also cheaper. In the past 18 years my husband and I managed to live in 3 different countries, USA (Chicago), Canada (Vancouver), and Bulgaria, so from my point of view I can tell you have a decent home to live in. I just don't like the idea of giving someone your money to work with while living in their property, 80% is crazy. Why people do that 😕? You are me when I clean lol. I actually told myself earlier today to get it together and pick up, so as soon as this video is done i’m going to do it 😅
    Anyway this was a really cool video! Very informative and it inspired me to start looking for places to move again. I have been wanting to move for a long time for a change of scenery and to learn about different countries and cultures. I haven’t necessarily considered Korea, but I just stumbled upon your channel recently and now I am really intrigued! I’d love to visit someday once COVID is better under control.
    Keep up the cool videos! p.s. the puppies are the cutest 🥺

      so like I said I used Jeonse (leasing system) and it was $260,000 ( but you can get up to 80 % loan which means the minimum amount of money you need is $52,000)
      but the prices went up and now it’s like over $400,000 which means you need more than $80,000….
      if it was in rent it used to be $50,000 deposit, $1000 rent ( compared to seoul this is super cheap for house this big)
      but this is also much more expensive now

    If I leave even water droplets in my sink we'll get ants due to the dry climate in California, so my kitchen is relatively clean. I also don't use many makeup products, so my bathroom it's cluttered, but I have long hair and shed EVERYWHERE... if I walk around with a sheet dragging behind me it's funny to see the balls of hair that form on the carpet (a reason I will NEVER buy a place with carpet ever again - tile and wood is easier to sweep than it is to vaccum).
    My biggest problem is undressing where ever and leaving my clothes on the floor. I basically have to scavenge hunt for dirty clothes every time I wash laundry. This is half because I don't have a laundry basket and half because I'm too tired at the end of the day and just strip before jumping into bed.

    • @ThizisDanny
      @ThizisDanny  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    First of all: I want those pijama looks so comfy. Second the apartment is really beautiful and checking how big it’s, with beautiful views and probably has amenities it’s very affordable (except for the big amount of the Jeonse). I’m absolutely in love with the open kitchen 💗💓. It would be interesting to know how much you pay for the loan cause you need to add to your spends the interests of the loan and the anual inflation of the Jeonse (probably would be better to buy the property but also depends of the needs or instead of take the loan change the car ;) Just Kidding). In Mexico I hadn’t heard something like the Jeonse but sounds really interesting, here we have the real state leasing that offers you the possibility to buy the property in a time of 1 to 10 years and pay it in concept of monthly rent without a deposit. Sorry if I extended to much I got a little excited hahaha Have a wonderful day ✌🏽

Thank you for all the useful information. ^ ^ To answer your question: I listen to nature sounds with light music when it is for a relaxing bath. I like music to wake me up and energize me when I shower. Lately it has been Elton John and Dua Lipa Cold Heart PNAU Remix to rev me up for the day. I’ve been to South Korea three times and I’ve never seen places that nice. Typically they all have the same very cold looking interiors I’ve never seen warm wood colors like that. Also I have never found anything that inexpensive. I stayed in a small Airbnb that was affordable But nothing that cheap and it was just a one bedroom studio with a loft. My brother lives in South Korea and they have a three bedroom but it’s not near that big and definitely more expensive than $500 even though they’re on the program that gives them a discount because they have a child. I’d be interested to know where are you found such a huge place for so cheap.

      It depends on the area. The further you go out of the older Seoul city center, into the suburbs, the prices are more affordable, bigger, cleaner, newer places. He's out in Incheon, which is pretty far from Seoul.

    Prices... oh wow.. I understand can be different everywhere but comparing to detached house with front and rear garden which I'm living right now price is very similar. Dang it, Korea is expensive.. I'm jealous of the views tho. Is stunning!

    Thank you for sharing your beautiful house/apartment with us! 🙂 It's so BIG and I'm utterly amazed at all the closet space you have 😲 (and maybe a tiny bit envious, haha 😅). I have a question: Are there air b&bs in Seoul or Incheon? One day I hope to visit Korea, and I was wondering if you have those over there because my friend told me that staying at an air b&b can be less expensive than staying at a hotel. 🤔 Thanks again! 🙂
