I lost a dear friend 2 weeks ago and this was played at his memorial. I can think of no better song for my buddy, there wasn't a dry eye in the whole sanctuary. The Preacher even teared up. It was magical. RIP Donny, you'll be greatly missed and will never be forgotten old friend.
Telluride is where we were married, during the 25th annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival, on June 21st, 1998. Every time Sam plays this song, tears of joy come into my eyes! We've been to every festival since then. It's where we celebrate every anniversary! Sam Bush's music is our wedding music!
I'm seeing him at the Big Sky Big Grass Festival in Montana in February, and am pumped about the prospect of skiing all day and listening to bluegrass at night. One more performer to check off on my musical "bucket list."
truly fantastic work. there are those among that appreciate a life long journey towards a particularly appealing sound. that many never reach.. you have.. congratulations and journey well taken, while the masses may not understand or appreciate, some do. Thank you
We were riding through the grapevines When I heard some say your name Hand on my shoulder, just a little bit older now And I remember everything High in Telluride, up on Bridal Veil Ten thousand feet above the sound The news came around and sent me to count all my blessings And to thank you for all the good friends that I've found Hey, hey, hey How in the world did we get this far Hey, hey, hey Holding tight to the tail of a shooting star Hey, hey, hey You're running circles around me Circles around me now Was I dreamin', or did this really happen I can feel the earth below my feet The world is turning fast and wild, like a little newborn baby child Who's never known regret or defeat I am surrounded, tangled in the wire Drawn up tight to the calling, and the rising frequency Of the silent smiles and laughter, of those that came before And the deafening sound of love, falling down on me
The late Peter Green (founder of Fleetwood Mac ) recommended this song in a telephone interview with music journalist Mark Ellen for the magazine Mojo.

Gotta love the Cardinal shirt. Nice job Mr. Bush. You are a true master!
My favorite song by Sam Bush first time I heard him years ago I try to go see him every chance I get
This man is an unheralded American treasure
Far from it. Loved and honored by everyone. Sam will always be King!
bluemeanee57 yes
I believe James just wasn’t sure what ‘unheralded’ means. Sam Bush also does a beautiful cover of (it’s a beautiful days) White Bird
One of the most well written songs I've heard in a while...
Simply..BeautifuL
Sam by far one of the best mandolin player that ever wrote a song. Master craftsman.
First song I heard from Sam Bush and it still gives me the chilles.

Hey, hey, hey
How in the world did we get this far
Hey, hey, hey
Holding tight to the tail of a shooting star
Hey, hey, hey
You're running circles around me
Circles around me now
Was I dreamin', or did this really happen
I can feel the earth below my feet
The world is turning fast and wild, like a little newborn baby child
Who's never known regret or defeat
I am surrounded, tangled in the wire
Drawn up tight to the calling, and the rising frequency
Of the silent smiles and laughter, of those that came before

leave the curse word out and you've got a great song
dean darmond - it’s a great song period.
That's hardly a curse, and certainly nothing that degrades the song.
Hell is not a curse word. It is in the Holy Bible in many verses. Sorry Brother, but think you're wrong about that . God Bless
