It's like a trip into the unknown. Every part of this song is breathtaking. You ride a wave of wonder for a while and suddenly you find yourself in the unknown and you don't know what will come in a moment. ♥
I love how he swiftly changes the mood in his music.
My boyfriend doesn't know it yet, but our wedding waltz will be this one.
And WAS it????
@@richardcleveland8549 ohhh it hasn’t happened yet! But we rehearsed with it already 😍
@@NatashaSallesSoprano You go, Gurl, you GO!! Be sure to post the video! 🤩

This is positively my favorite Prokofiev piece. It's so beautiful and haunting. Our ballet studio is doing Cinderella and at first I was a little miffed at only being a ball guest, but when I realized we were dancing to this I was all "OMGNOWAAAY" and happy. :D
At 1:50 ... I imagine dancing around cutting the flowers off the bushes at their heads. Honestly, you can hear the scissors.
This would be an excellent soundtrack for a Tim Burton movie. I bet it inspired him.
Yeah, well actually is a clock, but ok
3:09-3:27 is my favorite piece of music ever written. Thank you prokofiev!!!
same im doing it for ballet
The drums put a shiver down my back.
I wonder if John Williams has ever admitted to the influence Prokofiev seems to have had on him.
John Williams needs to stand in line waiting to admit Prokofiev's influence. Steiner, Tiomkin, Rozsa, Jarre, Hermann, Elmer Bernstein all need to go first.
Ох, мурашки бегают... :)
Thank you for these new videos! Prokofie's score of Cinderella is beautiful. :)
beautiful.
I have an elderly recording of the complete score on the Musical Heritage Society label . . . a great work by a very great composer. I've always loved what I think of the little sarcastic comments that crop up in his compositions . . . and in those of Shostakovich as well. I often wonder what Prokofiev's musical direction would have been had he not returned to Stalinist repression.
Beautiful
I think you mean you hear Prokoviev in John William's music. Of course, Prokofiev and Stravinsky came before John Williams. John Williams is a Brilliant composer, but Definately NOT original. He plagiarizes a lot! Have you listened to the Harry Potter theme and then Dance of the Swans from Swan Lake? Also, the theme of Schindler's List is stolen directly form a small theme from Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet. Listen and hear for yourself! There's also traces of Stravinsky at the end of E.T.
Star Wars and The Enigma Variations
The theme for pirates of the Caribbean is stolen from Tchaikhovsky as well, swan lake. Very little originality now

This is actually the part when Cinderella dances with the prince I think, that's why you heard the clock
@SophiaStarlight You are so right. I am not sure what puts me in orbit more, this Grand Waltz or the last part of Romeo and Juliet. Then again I have so much of Prokofiev's music to chose from.
I totally agree. It's easily the equal of Prokofiev's other great ballet score, Romeo & Juliet.
The drop at 4:00 jeez
The perfect Ghost and Ghoul Masquerade Ball.
It’s a shame that this is a less popular piece.
I notice it a lot too!
@Ppendu We do a step where the corps is arranged like the spokes of a wheel around cinderella and the prince in the center and we have arabesque, waltz turns and pas de basques...it sounds much lamer than it really is!
@Ppendu Thanks so much!!
Recherche Cendrillon pour valser à s'en étourdir sur cette valse sublime.
_Voluptuous Waltz._
@Ppendu Same!! My company is performing Cinderella in May and part makes me so happy when I dance it...
This sounds like a John Williams 80s theme
Sneaky Prokofiev, stole everything from John Williams
❤
This is linked in an ao3 fanfic :)

@TheEloeo agreeeeeeeeed
@Falcon21893 Wauw, lucky you! What kind of steps do you use during my favorite part?
@Falcon21893 Doesn't sound lame at all! I like it!
Break a leg on your performance ;).
Kinda but not entirerly. You hate the work envolved but you don't hate the music.
does it make me a weirdo if i hate so much playing that piace but i love sooo musch listening to this video??
A great, great composer; too bad he wasn't accorded the respect he deserved during the Stalinist darkness. Interesting to contemplate how he might have progressed musically had he stayed in the United States. And how appropriate that he and the Red Tsar died on the same day . . . beauty and the beast, so to speak . . . .

He always claims he was most inspired by Wagner.
