In the last 6 months after watching TH-cam videos I finally took the plunge and bought solotica lenses, I bought naturals quarterly, naturals yearly, and hydrocor. I bought them in different colors and I've gotta say these are THE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE LENSES I HAVE EVER TRIED. I wear air optix with no problems, but solotica brand feels like a hard piece of plastic in my eyes, I ended up going to the optometrist because after forcing myself to wear them for a half day, my eyes were in so much pain after taking them out that I called and asked for an emergency appointment, luckily my doctor was very understanding and after looking at my eyes through her specialty machines told me that my eyes were scratched.... What kind of lenses do that. Please be careful, a lot of TH-camrs get free contacts in exchange for positive reviews, and have such small discounts that really mean nothing when it comes to having to pay close to $100 for a pair of contacts that hurt like hell. Be careful guys, whatever contacts you wear should not hurt you or obscure your vision.

I wear solotica lenses and have spent hundrends! MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN my eyes hurt so much in class that i cannot concentrate they are so thick and they hurt so badly !!! I HATE solotica because my eyes are in pain even though i bought many disinfecting solutions i realised it is because the lenses are the problem they have made them so thick that i got a scratch and had to go to the ER !!
I used solotica natural color quartzo for 7 years and it was one of the my favoriest lens until last year. I bought solotica quartzo natural last year and I totaly agree with you. They changed the colors and the lens Material. It was so uncomfortable.

I’ve been wearing Solotica for years. I love the colors because they look so natural and they blend easily with darker eyes. The recent downfall came when I ordered their new formulated lenses that started burning my eyes. I thought perhaps I had a defective pair, so I ended up buying another pair months later. Unfortunately, it is the new formula because I checked the the reviews and a lot of people had similar issues. Now I’m moving to Desio.
Hi! I'm from Brazil. I heard froma big seller here that solotica stoped making these lenses in Brazil and now are producing in China. Aparently, the new "factory" did not meet the same quality standers. :(

Have used contact lenses with prescription all my life. With Solotica my eyes feels very dry and they are very expensive as well. Desio was better choice for me and my sensitive eyes.

Personally, I'm not a fan of Desio lenses on me. I think Solotica is much more natural looking due to the subtle variations in the opacity through the lenses. Still recommend everyone who enjoys lenses to try Anesthesia Lenses, they have some incredible lenses.
Yes, but Desio is much, much more comfortable than either Solotica or Anesthesia. The only solotica that comes close to feeling like Desio is the aquarella dailies.

Anesthesia isn’t fda approved any more solotica and desio are still fda approved.
@@paulinasenue9331 I don't have a problem with them not being FDA approved. In all honesty, all that means is that they haven't paid the FDA enough to get their stamp of approval to sell them in the USA. They are reputable, responsible companies that have been proved to provide excellent, quality products and have earned approval from their home countries agencies, and that is enough for me.
I'm not sure if solotica contacts are different for people without astigmatism, but I personally have bought the toric version in both solotica and desio. Here's my experience as someone with astigmatism.
Solotica (color Jade) - I had watched soooo many TH-cam videos on solotica contacts and had high expectations with natural colors because of all the good reviews, however my experience was terrible. Not only did they not look natural, but they were so uncomfortable I couldn't wear them. I thought maybe they got my prescription wrong but I checked multiple times and it's the correct prescription. I just couldn't bear wearing it. Note: I got the color Jade, which was supposed to be natural looking and I've seen so many videos where they look natural, not sure if it's different for astigmatism or if they messed up, but they are LIME green, my friends could tell they were fake and said I looked like a bug because they could see the pixels. Again, I'm not sure if I got a bad batch or something but for the price it was, I am scared to try again with that company regardless of the high reviews. Maybe it is just not for people with astigmatism? I don't know. I'm extremely disappointed though and when I contacted solotica they disregarded my email so the customer service wasn't great. I did try "breaking into" the solotica contacts, I've tried this entire month with no luck. They shift on my eyes and they're so thick it hurts, I can't even focus when I wear them.
Desio (I have desert dream and wild green) - they are much more comfortable, they just feel like regular contacts. The desert dream is much more natural looking, nobody knows I'm wearing contacts, you can't see the pixels. It's just a light green color. The wild green is pretty when you're far away but when you are up close you can see the pixels giving it a buggy effect and also giving it away that you're wearing contacts. They are a vibrant green but not super fake looking (besides the pixels) and definitely not LIME friggen green like my solotica. I also heard solotica is inconsistent with their colors, so maybe I just got very unlucky...? Oh well. Desio personally for me, because I can actually wear them without my eyes being uncomfortable.
Note that my eyes are naturally grey and the colors vary based on your natural color
I have very dark brown eyes and got jade thinking it was going to really work and oh my god I look like someone photoshopped a lime on my eyes. I look like a Star Wars character it’s sad

You did the perfect amount of comparison time and I really appreciated that you had up close and plenty of full face time because a lot of reviewers don't. I pretty much agree solotica looked more natural. I loved the blue comparisons but I'm so sorry I didn't like any of the grays. I use the Honey contacts from Freshlooks and love them and would like to see you compare those ones with Solotica so i could see if the difference. Haven't looked at your other videos yet but i will now and see if you have a honey/hazel video or green. When i tried green one time they just looked boring but you made me think twice now. Anyways. Great video!
I love both brand. I've being using them for years, but this is the first video I get to see a side by side, so great job. I was looking on how the Desio pepper gray and the dark gray from their two shades of gray collection. Overall both brands are great, however, as a regular user of both brands, I find Desio more comfortable than Solotica on the long run, but the Solotica colors are very natural.

You should really try the Cappuccino from Desio - they are similar to Creamy Beige but way more natural and beautiful. I purchased the Sepia Grey from Solotica and they were also beautiful, just came off a little bluer than I would have liked. I am going to give the Avela a shot next. Both brands are extremely comfortable and are of good quality. Thanks for this video

I'm so happy to see this comparison. Especially with dark brown eyes, it's really hard to tell how the colors will look. I'm a solotica wearer already. With your video, I can see that Solotica definitely has more dimension that was difficult to see without the comparison. I emphatically agree that NO limbal ring is a nicer look. The only color I thought was better was Desio beige. Other than that , Solotica is a hands down winner. I really wish there were more companies doing colored lenses with + prescription. They're hard to find. And, just for you, I LOVE the blue on you. Yes its a huge difference. You seemed like you were unsure how it went with your complexion. I think it's stunning! Thank for this video. I'd like to see more of -omg- every color! ❤❤❤

Hey Mal, how is the solotica contacts comfort wise? is it the same as desio or less comfortable?
Personally I find the solotica aquarella contacts comfortable and comparable to desio for comfort. The yearly lenses from solotica are so beautiful, but I can only wear them for short periods of time (5 hours max.)
Please tell which one is more of the tight fitting. I have problems in colour lenses😭😥is that they always move, especially my left side where i have scar on top of my brow line which make my left side eye more droopy....
I would say desio has a more comfortable fit for me. Solotica I’ve had to get used to
I'm team Solotica. I tried Desio when they first came out and they were so uncomfortable (I had 2 different color) that I never purchased from them after that first buy.
I love Solotica and tend to buy color contacts from them. I've dabbled with Anesthesia brand of contacts and they were gorgeous and comfortable as well. I just feel like for the price and quality, you can't beat Solotica.

Thanks for this review! I prefer Solotica for all of these, but Desio did okay with the beige color.
I bought Desio Lush Green and Romantic Blue last spring and they were a big disappointment. They looked completely fake and almost cartoonish on me. It’s not that it’s one tone, but the completely flat pixels that cover all the texture in a natural iris. If they were to use a print pattern similar to Solotica, imo it would be a big improvement.
I don’t have great luck with Solotica multi-tone shades either (specifically Jade and Ipanema) because they are so pixelated and the pixels look like something sitting on top of my eye, it doesn’t blend. But the single-tone colors like Mel, Ocre, Avela, Grafite, (etc) they are perfect - the print pattern on those and the “feathered” iris mimics a natural iris and they blend so well, it’s remarkable. I wish Solotica could use that same print pattern on Jade and Ipanema, but apparently that can’t be done when they’re printing multiple tones on the same lens.
I wish I could edit my earlier comment - the feathered pupil hole, that should say, not feathered iris. (But the iris pattern, too, along with the feathered pupil, makes some of those Solotica lenses look incredibly natural)
Are these RX brand or just for fun? I have RX contacts and can ever ever find a good color unless it's a dark green or blue to cover my actual iris color. Yours look beautiful and I want to try as they seem to cover the total iris

The hydrocor mel looked so natural on you. Can you try some from Kilala Eye? They have some cool “effects” I’m into Neptune From their planet series and might try the kaleidoscope purple.

Delicious Honey by Desio looks way more realistic than Hidrocor Avela by Solotica, I think because the former includes a limbal ring
Question? is non Limbal or limbal more realistic? Iv seen some great contacts with limbals but I just don't get them cuz iv always read tht Limbals give the contacts away of being fake & I want my contacts looking super natural. But when I look it up, it says that everybody has a natural limbal ring around their eye so It confuses me how everyone says limbals make it look fake lol
Personally I find that a limbal ring can look natural on the right contacts! It depends on the color and the style of lenses for sure. I recommend trying a pair with a light limbal ring- you may be suprised!
All designs from Desio are actually more realistic than Solotica that at least in camera don’t blend at all with your eye color, not even at distance… the only thing that make Desio look unrealistic and Solotica nailed is the eye dimension… Big eyes give off a cartoon vibe and for the price of Desio you could get some cheap Color CL at that point… Hope this helps!
Never heard if Desio but Iv had afew pairs of solotica that I loved. But in your video, the soliticas seemed to shift in ur eye whenever u blinked & the desio didnt. makes me wonder if they changed their material they used cuz I don't remember mine shifting like tht. But great video & u made me want to check out desio now!!
I have an astigmatism! Because of this my eye is not a perfect sphere and it causes my contacts to move a bit. It does it with all lenses 😩

Just be careful... the material used to make these lenses are not good enough (polymacon) they don't let the eyes get oxygen. Do your research

If you look left to right it helps see what the contacts truly look like. Most contacts look real until you look to the left or right .

Awe I actually liked the Sepia grey by Solotica. Over all I liked the Solotica better. But I like the lush green by Desio.

Solotica is always the most natural! Also,I don't understand some comments,that Solotica causes problems. I use mostly the yearlybone,for many years,from early morning to late night and I never,ever had any issue. Sounds strange to me.
I think overall Soloticas blend better with one’s eyes. They may appear a bit hazy in certain light conditions but that’s why they sink in more. Their feathered pupil and no limbal ring collections appear to me the most realistic. I mostly dislike their new quarterly collection because they opted for blunt pupils which gives them a bug eye effect
Very good point! I do find the AQUARELLA is not as diffused in the pupil as well , however I love the comfort of these lenses for everyday wear
I have medium brown eyes so a feathered pupil hole looks wayy better and more natural than a blunt one. I also only wear green or lighter brown colors because of how well they blend with brown. I’m think blunt pupil holes only look good if you have super dark almost black eyes
Solotica colouring pattern is so real but for me i would choose Desio as they look fuller and the pupil hole looks more tight. And in solotica's how they make the pupil hole cut is not round enough they made do it to make it realistic but if it's already faded in the colour pattern on cutting of the colour it's already do the job to make it more natural in my opinion.
How is the comfort for the contacts for solotica lenses ?
Aquarela quarterly are very comfortable, yearly collections are painful after some time.
I’m my experience quarterly and yearly burned my eyes. I would wear them for about 3.5 hours.
I think I am more team Solotica, although I do like the Desio’s as well. Like if I could only choose one brand, it would be the Solotica’s. I love Solitica’s Gemstone line! Just absolutely gorgeous!! Have you heard of ColorCL? They are AN AMAZING company out of South Korea, and literally have something for everyone. The only negative I have from them is them using DHL shipping. I can’t tell you how many times I have had to pay double shipping to get my order to be delivered bc DHL screwed up the delivery. AWFUL HORRIBLE EXPERIENCES with DHL. But ColorCL is now starting to use FEDX a lot more, so that’s a huge improvement. But ColorCL alway does everything possible to make their customers happy!

Oh that awesome!!! I LOOOOOOVE THEM SO MUCH!! Just to show what kind of integrity they have, here are my latest experiences with them: my second to latest order from them, I ordered the new Ultra Moist collection, Toulouse, London, Stockholm,Santa Cruz, and Almond Blossom. I ordered them on February 1. I waited and waited. On February 21 they finally arrived in Los Angeles California, which was about 75% of their journey. But there they sat,,,,,and sat,,,,,and sat,,,,,and sat. So I contacted ColorCL, and after doing a little checking, they told me Customs had been holding on to them. And there they sat,,,,and sat,,,and sat.... finally on March 28, I called the again to say that the status was “Return to sender”. ColorCL checked int it again, and said that Customs had decided to hang on to my order. .????????. WTF? All they had to do was check inside to see that they were I fact contact lenses, and tape it up and send them on their way,,,, but no. And the gave no reason for the hold up. Well ColorCL put a rush on a replacement order for me,,,used FEDX, an they just came today! Over two months since I first ordered them. Then also today, I ordered another order from them, the newer Ultra Moists, Seville, and Vienna, and the newest ones, Patagonia, and Pittsburgh and a few others I wanted to try. Well stupid me forgot to order some of heir really beautiful contact cases, so I had to do another order, to get those and I couldn’t figure out how to updated an existing order, so I had to do another whole order, but in the notes section, I put the order number for my original order and said that I just forgot to include these cases. Well today I get a refund of $22.00 which was the shipping charge for the cases! So I assume they combined my two orders so as to not have to pay twice for shipping!! I have so much respect for them! They really try to go the extra mile for their customers!!! I’m glad you love them as well! I really enjoy your videos! Your natural eye color is near exact to mine, so when you try a pair on, I know exactly how they will look on me!!

Hey I thank you for sharing your experience I always wear solotica monthly ambar and I wanted to try the colorCL now since I’ve seen so many videos on TH-cam. As I read you have multiple colors now which one would you say is subtle and realistic looking or in fact which ones are the most realistic looking ones? What is your opinion on the Vienna or the dancing tilting ultra moist (if you have it)I have dark brown eyes

I have Graphite solotica and they don't look like the ones u wear . Apparently they sometimes change their lenses each year or something (slight color change; limbo ring color ; pupil hole size etc)
A lot of people have been saying this! I must admit mine are really old (I shouldn’t be wearing them anymore honestly). I love how they look. Maybe I’ll get a fresh pair and compare the two

I think desio looks way more realistic. I just bought delicious honey and they look so real because of the size of the pupil hole!!! Solotica looks fake/ like a real contact because of the large pupil hole, and the crazy amounts of unrealistic details.

Hidrocor Avela, but they aren’t quite the same. Tender hazel has a unique combination of colors that I haven’t been able to match

Solotica Avela is the best. However, the lens tend to move a bit when we blink.
I want contacts so bad but I keep reading that solotica is uncomfortable and I actually purchased a pair back in 2015/2016 and they looked gorgeous but I literally couldn’t wear them for more than 30 mins, they burned and were so uncomfortable, once I took them out I couldn’t see for the rest of the day. One of the contacts ending up tearing a weak later. Based on the most recent reviews, it seems like nothing has changed so I’ll have to go with design
used to use desio but when i did some research found that paris hilton uses solotica and switched and they def look more natural. never looked back
Paris Hilton used "Elegance" by CIBA , in the color "Baby Blue" ( I wore the "Sophisticated Blue" ). These were discontinued.. I love the Desio lenses because they are very comfortable and similar to the older lenses, which were hand painted.

In regards to the creamy beige, I don't know. Maybe it's the way it's looking on the video, but compared to the other two that you compare them with the creamy beige almost looks violet or a light violet, which is strange. It's very beautiful but I find it odd that even though it says it's Creamy Beige, it's coming off a subtle, Light Violet. They're unusual, but yet they are very realistic and they look fantastic on you!!!

I love Desio.. for some reason. Solotica. Is uncomfortable for me..also try tye desio. Coffee line. Can't miss colors..and desio makes lenses that aren't flat colors.. but solotica makes great dimensional lenses. .both are great

First pair I tried from Desio: Rebel Gray! I GET NON STOP COMPLIMENTS even in fluorescent office lighting which usually makes your color contacts look “robotic / lizard like” hahaha. Changed my entire look. It’s a striking gray with a slight undertone of blue. I actually do like slight limbal rings as I feel adds dimension vs flat color all the way to the edge. But that’s just preference 😅 - great informative video.
Hey Mel do you ever get extra contacts would you be willing to do a giveaway one day. I've been looking at several of your videos with color contacts. And I love the greens and the grays. My eyes are brown. So I would never wear brown again. I had Hazel once before. That was the typical color. 🙆🏽♀️

When i saw hidrocor graphite i thought it was safira because it looks more brighter and vibrant than graphite.

Is Desio more comfortable than Solotica because Solotica is uncomfortable?
Desio lenses are comfortable, the lenses feel a bit softer than solotica! But I don’t find solotica uncomfortable
I can't wear solotica. They are uncomfortable for me. Desio are much more comfortable

Only on pictures, in real life Desio look like stickers, really fake. Other problem with Desio is their quality, I had 4 pairs some broke after 3 days, others in one week, extremely bad quality. I live next to Italy and the delivery took a month, their customer service is bad, Solotica team is amazing!
