I love this video! ❤ I did a sew in on myself once. It took 20ish hours, but I was determined because I didn't know how to do anything else 😂. 8 years later, I've learned so much from influencers like yourself and I do my own hair regularly. I haven't done a sew in since though.
Thank you! I’m glad you found this video helpful. Yes I feel you sew-ins are one of the hardest styles to diy but once you get the hang of it, it’s a breeze. Keep trying 💕
You should be proud of yourself for sharing that technique. The style looks natural and clean without much glue and other products. Congratulations and God bless you. 🌟👏🙌
Good video. I'm still working on my braiding my hair down but I'm going to get someone to do it for me and try doing my own sewin. Save myself money and time. Its so hard to find a decent stylist so I started learning how to do my own everything.
Been thinking about it doing a sew in for my birthday next month! It will be my first attempt ever and my first sew in so thanks for the video! It was very informative
I been doing my hair since 10 & I’m still behind BUT this video encouraged me that I’m on the right track and definitely shouldn’t give up ! I will definitely be giving you your cred.❤
I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this amazing tutorial. This gives me so much confidence to try it myself. Also, amazing music! ❤🥰
Not delulu 😂. You can do it. You’d be surprised how easy it is once you get started. I pinned an updated tutorial in the comments. It has more details including how to curve the tracks. 💕
I love this video. Been contemplating rather I was going to go to a salon or diy. After your video I want to do it myself. Thanks for the encouragement, guidance, and the bobby pin method...which is AMAZING. But one question...I am a very particular person when it comes to step by step. Can you show your braids longer so I can follow the pattern? Thank you!
Thank you! And I’m glad this video was encouraging to you. I’m going to do an updated tutorial and add more details including braid pattern. Thanks for mentioning that!
I love your video❤ I would like to know about the front section, did you untuck the two front braids from the wig cap? Or did you do the sew in on your entire head?
@@beautybynolaj5369 yesss. I have so much more confidence now. The first sew in I did on myself, girl, I was cutting tracks and getting the thread all messed up. Thank you again!!!
The final results are beautiful. I don’t understand how you did the top with the part though. If possible can you do another video focusing on how to do the top. Thank you. Edit: I found your updated video with the information I needed ❤️
It's so that your hair doesn't break up as much. But for me I don't like it because I like to be able to scratch my scalp you can't do that with the net
Just a question about the net, when you're sewing on the wefts, - are you connecting /sewing the weft to the net ONLY (Like are you sewing through the little holes) OR - are you connecting the weft to the net AND braids? I hope you understand my question 🙃 wonderful tutorial btw! I just need clarification on the net part of it all. lol
i wanna do my own sew in and i was wondering, if you sew a hair net around the perimeter of your hair couldn't you just sew the bundles through the hair net and not your hair?
Im an diy not professional with cosmetology licenses, etc. Im thinking about doing mine & my daughters hair with weaving cap/net so how would I take care of our sclap underneath the net - shampooing & moisturizing / oiling
I recommend weave maintenance, especially with a net, to be done by a professional. You can risk getting bacteria overgrowth and mold if your scalp/hair isn’t cleansed and dried properly.
Yes don’t sew the net flat to the head. Leave extra space/gap because the net will get flatter and tighter as you sew in the tracks. If you sew the net down too flat it will start to pull on your braids once you start sewing the tracks; which can lead to traction alopecia, headaches, etc. Hope that was helpful
I’m currently editing an updated tutorial with the braid down included and when and how to curve the tracks. But I usually start curving when I get to the ear. ❤️
I get mine done by my autie she says that when she does ppl weave its only 40£ for a sew in with a leave out but i get mine since its my birthday but shes really busy so i want to do it myself
I have a huge event coming really soon and I'm trying to save money by learning how to sew it myself 🤣🤣 Lord help me. I thought about a lace wig but I wanna go swimming damnit & I don't have time to keep trying to reinstall it.
I'm very confused. How are we not seeing the net through the part? Where is the thick band? Can you please show the end of the video? Where did the leave out come from? Did you cut the net? If you did, why use the net at all? How do you care for your scalp with the net? Sorry I'm just so confused as to how this is sustainable without seeing everything
the net is so you can still see your hair and the scalp can breathe. you just part the tracks and book there’s your hair through the net. she most likely has a closure (haven’t watched the whole video yet) 3:02 but you can see that down and it will look like a part
i take that back. it looks like she did leave out. so the bigger braid you see when she’s sewing her hair 8:58 is where she is gonna cut around the net and blend her hair into the weave
Yes she left the middle top out so she can cover the top with her natural hair and blend it in....once you are done sewing your net down, you can cut it where your want your part.
I love this video, but im a little dissapointed because you did not show how you did the middle part or what you did with the net around your edges. But it is encouraging to see the detail andcthat it can be done! TYFS
I posted an updated version guys with all the details including how to braid down. Hope it helps th-cam.com/video/wg-l5ieGtHw/w-d-xo.html

Thank you! And you can do it! Those hair pins was such a big help because I didn’t have to hold the tracks up and I could aligned them correctly
Such a good method for doing your own sew in! Makes it so much easier to do your own hair!

You making me want to try doing my own sew in now . How many bundles did you use ?
Its definitely worth a try. I used about 3 bundles.
Quick question love! At the end did you cut the band of the net that’s on your base?
Yes I did. I put all the hair in a high ponytail and cut the band around the perimeter
Thank you so much! Is the needle & thread going through the weft or around it?
This was really good. What’s the name of the net and where did you get it from?
I have an event this week I’m hosting n I really didn’t want to glue this perfectly good bundles in thank you!
You’re welcome! Hope it turns out great.
This tutorial was great and the music choiceee🤌🤌
Thanks!
So what is the reason for using a net vs. seeing tracks on to the braids? I want to try this on my hair
It's so that your hair doesn't break up as much. But for me I don't like it because I like to be able to scratch my scalp you can't do that with the net
Great Job, I wish I could have seen how you cut your netting!
Thank you for sharing. Is it human hair or synthetic. I prefer synthetic sew in for personal reasons. Which one do you recommend thanks in advance
Are you sewing on the weft or through the hair on the weft?
I watched her update she sews through in the start to anchor to the cap and then loops around
Looks great 🤩
Thank you!
Just a question about the net, when you're sewing on the wefts,
- are you connecting /sewing the weft to the net ONLY (Like are you sewing through the little holes)
OR
- are you connecting the weft to the net AND braids?

You did a great job!

That bobby pin oh yea that was clutch

I’ll try this❤, but will skip the net part, as I still like to take care of my scalp when having sew ins, and the net is causing a barrier.

i wanna do my own sew in and i was wondering, if you sew a hair net around the perimeter of your hair couldn't you just sew the bundles through the hair net and not your hair?
Absolutely. Which ever method works fine
This is really pretty
Thank you!
Do you have a video on how you braid your hair? Thats the hardest part for me.
I do its in the “Updated” tutorial right above this one. But trust once you get the hang of it it gets easier lol
When you pushed the needle through the net, did you tie the thread?
No I just looped it. I only tie the thread when it’s running out and at the beginning and end of each row.
Will you do a sew in wo leave out & how to safely remove thread from weave wo cutting hair?? Thx.🙂🌹
I can do a removal tutorial for sure but I don’t typically wear sew ins w/o leave out
Thank you for the hair tip!!
You’re so welcome! Thanks for watching.
Are you still sewing the track onto the braid or just connecting the track to the net?
Sometimes I sew onto the net and sometimes through the braid. Either way is fine.
Is the net necessary? Will it get uncomfortable overtime?
It isn’t necessary but highly recommended. Your sew in will last longer
@@beautybynolaj5369 ok thanks for the response. I’m going to try your method. I watched your recent sew in video as well
Did you cut the elastic band from around the circumference of the net and your head?
Yes i did
Well done, sis. ❤
Thank you! 💕
When you say slack what exactly do you mean that term like just leave room dont sew the full thinggg ?
Yes don’t sew the net flat to the head. Leave extra space/gap because the net will get flatter and tighter as you sew in the tracks. If you sew the net down too flat it will start to pull on your braids once you start sewing the tracks; which can lead to traction alopecia, headaches, etc. Hope that was helpful

Hey. Can you tell me where you got that music from? Thanks
Do you have to use the cap
No you don’t have to but it’ll make your install last long though
I tried to sew in my hair before it was a fail
How do you know When
To start curving the hair?
Can you do a braid down video ?
I’m currently editing an updated tutorial with the braid down included and when and how to curve the tracks. But I usually start curving when I get to the ear. ❤️
I get mine done by my autie she says that when she does ppl weave its only 40£ for a sew in with a leave out but i get mine since its my birthday but shes really busy so i want to do it myself
How do you start off the knot and the track?
Do you sew thru the weft or around it?
Mainly around the weft. In certain parts I sew threw it, especially around the hairline
Where is the bundles from? And what is the name of the bundles?🥰❤️😻
How long does this last??
A good 2-3 months
How many packs do you need? Hairpiece
3-4 bundles
What technique or how did you cut the premiter of the sewing cap off?
I just put the hair in a high ponytail and cut around the perimeter
How do not see the net ? What is the process ?
How long does it take to braid and install?
The whole process took about 5 hours including styling
Did you cut the cap at the end?
I did. I put the hair in a high ponytail and cut around the perimeter
I have a huge event coming really soon and I'm trying to save money by learning how to sew it myself 🤣🤣
Lord help me. I thought about a lace wig but I wanna go swimming damnit & I don't have time to keep trying to reinstall it.
Lol its definitely worth to try. The more attempts you make at it, you’ll get better and better.
How do you do a sew in with a pixie cut?? 🫶🏽
I’d suggest going to a hairstylist for any style on a pixie 💕
How to you wash you hair after the sew in?
I usually wash in the sink so the water doesn’t soak in the braid down. I just run my fingers through the hair with shampoo and water.
Beautiful job.
How many did you use?
Thank you! How many of what?
How many bundles did you use?
I used about 2.5 bundles
