This guy is exactly the Widow every Lucio dreams about hunting, inaccurate, never full charge, bad positioning, and never willing to grapple away. If he's being punished this often in bronze there's no way he'd survive silver let alone gold.

Honestly, with as much of an ego as the submitter had, I’d say putting things lightly for them was the incorrect approach. Put them on full blast, full roast. For the vast majority of cases, someone with that much of an inflated ego will just brush off any gentle corrections and keep doing what they’re doing.
And unironically Pharah's kit naturally makes them not stand still while shooting, which was the cause of literally all their deaths on the former heroes - so the Pharah pick directly countered this Widow player simply by not rewarding a stand-still playstyle XD

I think it may have been a fumble while they were trying to pick a communication option in the menu, tbh. edit: or an issue with pinging (I'm not sure what happens for dps if they ping a teammate, I play support). sometimes the ping system gets a little goofy for me or my mouse wheel is too sensitive so I end up doing something like swapping to the pistol when I play mercy when I was actually trying to ping

I relate to this so bad. I can't explain why, but the constant shots at 56% or less actually bugged me throughout the whole video. I understand taking a shot at 75% charge or less every once in a while if they're low, but the consistency of seeing the charge percentage hit 56% MAX actually bugged me to my core.

If you have more than two chances to shoot a Tracer with sub 45 charge shots, then the Tracer is playing poorly to begin with. Better to line up that full charge unless you straight up just don't have the time for it. Full charge bodyshot + melee also does exactly 150 dmg to kill Tracer if she tries to jump you, whereas the 45 shot relies on you hitting the headshot regardless.
This isnt just a bronze thing either. There are so many people who have obviously never watched a VOD of theirs back. While I think there are parts of elo hell that are real, if you play enough you will be the rank you deserve.

You just contradicted yourself. You can't say elo hell is real and then say if you just play enough you'll reach your real rank. Are some ranks harder to climb out of than others? From my experience, yes. But that's not what elo hell is. Elo hell is a coping mechanism bad players use to tell themselves that anyone besides themselves are the reason they're in their rank.

I feel like one thing that will help this person a lot is thinking about widow's role on the team and what widow's job is because it's a hell of a lot more than just "aim go brrr" widow has incredible potential to take and hold space for their team. they can put pressure on the enemy team to make them feel confined and panic. as a support player, there are few things worse than how cramped a good enemy widow can make the map feel. that's why widow needs to be on high ground - so you can see and control more of the map and put pressure on the enemy. that's why sitting behind your tank isn't doing anything. you're trying to take control of only a tiny fraction of the map, so you are by definition reducing your ability to pressure the enemy. all an enemy support needs to do is avoid your single sliver of the map, which is very easy to do. its a decent sized map and there are lots of places for supports to safely hide when a widow is not on the left side high ground. widow positioning is all about commanding space and giving yourself the highest percentage of the map to control because the more you control, the less the enemy has to work with. this doesn't mean you should just stand out in the open like you're not going to be challenged. use cover, don't rely solely on your supports to come to you because sometimes how you need to position may not be a safe place for them, but still, you need to play more confidently. you might feel confident about your gameplay, but you don't play like you're confident. you play very scared and very uncertain.
Honestly, that Mercy deserved better dps-... She was so aware of things and trying her best to help everyone, yet was good with position and going in with the pistol when need be!

Once she got that squish on the Bastion I was like “that’s the real carry” 😂 But fr she seems to play smarter than other bronze players cos I also noticed right after that when she was low she actually flew back to her team for heals instead of getting over aggressive and letting her mech die which I am guilty of doing myself on Dva. 😂

Yep lower skill players tend to hold onto their absolute best plays and believe that's their worth as a player. In reality it's 0.01% of their plays, and oftentimes its out of pure coincidence and not actual player skill, and in 99% of cases they'd crumble under the tiniest amount of pressure and choke hard in game modes that aren't the practice range.
As someone who has similar aim to him on widow, he should try Ashe, bastion, Cassidy, echo, genji, junkrat, mei, pharah, reaper, Sojourn, soldier, sombra, symetra, torbjorn, or tracer before he goes widow.

His tunnel visioning is some of the worst I think I've ever seen.. At least Ashe would play better into that by not having to hard-scope and lose track of the game entirely.
Unfortunately with ashe you don't get as much value because of no one shots, and judging by how they play widow they'll be the type of ashe that hipfires constantly and constantly reloads, I doubt they'd hit enough shots to make ashe work, bc once again you don't have the luxury of a random widow headshot working in your favor

I feel like a big tip a lot of lower rank Widows need is to take your time with your shots. So often this person starts spamming low charge shots so even if they hit they don’t do a lot of damage. Keeping your distance and taking your time will improve accuracy. Window isn’t about pumping out as much damage as possible so if you miss the shot it’s fine, just let your charge come back and fire again instead of spam clicking and getting off low damage shots.
I have a theory that players like these who send in replays don't actually think they're good or that they carried, they just say that cause they know it makes for good content.

Ngl this widows are the ones I like going up against as a Kiriko main. I’ve played against gold Widows and they don’t play like that and if they do they immediately switch.
He had good plays here and there but there are a couple problems. Positioning is the obvious but another is the shots that did land and an annoying I like to call bronze syndrome. The shots he did land were usually easier shots. For example someone stands still or is completely out of cover. Nothing wrong with getting them but that's like asking to get shot. Bronze syndrome is this dumb thing where because no one has good aim so they wont go after hard targets Widow and Pharah are good examples. I don't know why it happens but if you spectate your own games and you notice that you could really punish your own position that's a problem.
We also never saw them get properly countered. Will they swap if they are getting countered? Will they swap if the team needs different utility, even if they are getting picks on widow etc. I feel like it is the game sense but also how he would play with a team if he was higher; which you cannot see very well because the game overall was a stomp
I smurfed in 600 sr back in overwatch 1 i walked up to a scoped in widow with a mercy pocket. I was playing hog and was not crouching. They didnt notice. I meleed the widow no reaction. Meleed the mercy also no reaction. I said hi 4 times before they turned around. They panicked and i whole hogged them. Bronze was crazy

I honestly would love a sniper tank, somehow. Not sure how it would work, cause they’d need some sort of unique mechanic on their sniper (maybe bleed or it shoots massive piercing bullets) and they’d need ranged damage mitigation.
Here's a tip: If you're on Widow and the enemy swaps to Pharah, that means you genuinely are that non-threatening to them
I feel like if you want to counter pharah, you should definently pick a 200 hp hitscan. Widow is really squishy to take a close range 1v1.

Definitely not deserving of gold at all, even in gold people know how to jump on a Widow as Winston or just chasing her away with Tracer or Genji and theres a LOT of people who like to play those heroes they know Widow is a "easy" target
You should never play widow and have to say "oh darn that guy's getting healed too much"
I feel like a big tip a lot of lower rank Widows need is to take your time with your shots. So often this person starts spamming low charge shots so even if they hit they don’t do a lot of damage. Keeping your distance and taking your time will improve accuracy. Window isn’t about pumping out as much damage as possible so if you miss the shot it’s fine, just let your charge come back and fire again instead of spam clicking and getting off low damage shots.

I have a theory that players like these who send in replays don't actually think they're good or that they carried, they just say that cause they know it makes for good content.
They most definitly think they carried. They has multiple multi-kills, which probably got to their head.

to be fair that pharah looked like they just discovered technology for the first time.

Ngl this widows are the ones I like going up against as a Kiriko main. I’ve played against gold Widows and they don’t play like that and if they do they immediately switch.
He had good plays here and there but there are a couple problems. Positioning is the obvious but another is the shots that did land and an annoying I like to call bronze syndrome. The shots he did land were usually easier shots. For example someone stands still or is completely out of cover. Nothing wrong with getting them but that's like asking to get shot. Bronze syndrome is this dumb thing where because no one has good aim so they wont go after hard targets Widow and Pharah are good examples. I don't know why it happens but if you spectate your own games and you notice that you could really punish your own position that's a problem.

with widow's ult, you get the advantage of setting up the headshot and letting them walk into your crosshair
We also never saw them get properly countered. Will they swap if they are getting countered? Will they swap if the team needs different utility, even if they are getting picks on widow etc. I feel like it is the game sense but also how he would play with a team if he was higher; which you cannot see very well because the game overall was a stomp

I smurfed in 600 sr back in overwatch 1 i walked up to a scoped in widow with a mercy pocket. I was playing hog and was not crouching. They didnt notice. I meleed the widow no reaction. Meleed the mercy also no reaction. I said hi 4 times before they turned around. They panicked and i whole hogged them. Bronze was crazy

well on the bright side the more shots the take the more they practice aim so they learn faster by shooting not charged shots
