  • A group of angry parents staged a protest outside a school Henbury in response to what they branded the “derogatory treatment” of pupils.
At the demonstration outside Blaise High School, more than a dozen people gathered outside the school gates demanding a meeting over issues ranging from disciplinary measures and excessive suspensions to children feeling unsafe inside the school on Station Road.
In response, Will Smith, CEO of the Greenshaw Learning Trust which Blaise High School is part of, said: "Student's safety and well-being are the school's top priority and if any students or parents have any concerns, they should contact the school directly."

I would like to say as a student of this school that they treat us HORRIBLY!! my friend was taken to spare uniform because her trousers were too tight and they were the only ones that would fit her. And this is what they call body positivity and equality!? HORRENDOUS! And after talking to our head of year about it, she responded with, “ yeah I can see it’s not you fault” and I thought that was settled but the she said, “ your only a little thing aren’t you” and I was so angry!

As a year 8 student of blaise high school, i could not agree more, they treat us like prisoners and have immense double standards for every rule they enforce, its almost like they want us to fail. Thank you for standing up for us

I'd love to know what sort of "human rights" are supposedly being taken away at this school. First bloke says, "They make them line up!" Well... yeah... that is nothing new or unusual about school. It sounds like they're expecting school to be some sort of free-for-all with no structure or discipline. Structure is ESSENTIAL when trying to organise hundreds of children and provide a safe and secure learning environment, and actually makes children feel happier and safer. (And as for uniform issues, if the kids look anything like their parents then I'm not surprised they're being sent home for breaking appearance rules 😅😂)

A sibling of mine was made to go into an isolation room for a whole day because she spoke in the corridor whilst struggling to find her class, and that's just one of the many examples I could pull from this school. I find it amazing how you focus purely on obvious rules that a school should have and have no problem commenting on peoples looks, instead of doing some actual research before speaking on something you have absolutely no knowledge of. I suggest you stick to making your incredibly unfunny youtube shorts, Jenny, as it is quite clear that your current intellectual capacity is beyond anything else.

@@egomaniac5480 She just need to ask " Excuse me, Miss/Mx/Sir where is my class?"(She can take out her time table to the teacher to have a look)I promise you, the teachers won't send her to SL/RFL, if she is in this situation.

@@vapaus831 But she didn't need to shes year 8. She knows where the classes are but it was her first day back and was just a little stressed and was looking at her timetable in the corridor and mumbled something under her breath to herself, not to someone else, i'm sure you've done this before. I don't see how you can try to justify her being sent to isolation for a whole day for simply saying something to herself. It was a busy corridor aswell and the teacher only saw her lips move and thought that was an appropriate punishment. Don't speak on matters you have no clue about buddy.
