    Kevin, I have been watching some of your videos but this one was the one that convinced me to purchase your training. You explain things in detail, which is super important if someone wants to start a candle business. The math alone is very helpful. Thank you!!

    Hello Kevin, this is only the third video in session I have watched of yours. I was considering making candles just for fun with my daughters and trying to make a few extra dollars. We enjoy wood wick candles better mainly because of the crackle sound and the look. The knowledge you have shared in your videos has me almost in shock. I didn't think there was this much involved in candle making, i intend to have both of my daughters watch your videos too. You are very informative. I enjoy watching your channel. Thank you for all the information!

    Hey Kevin! Don't forget... sometimes a booster wick is too much, and the next size down isn't enough, like you pointed out. I've found you can actually use a crackling wick and a whisper wick, together, to get that "sweet spot". You don't have to worry about the adhesive used for the booster wick either. There's a lot more than just 15 options😃. I've been making candles with wooden wicks for almost ten years, but I signed up for your class so I could learn more about cotton wicks. (Would that also be the "pro group"?) There's always room for improvement! Thank you for this video! PS what kind of tablet are using? I really like that you can write on it and not have to print up the documents!

      Hi Melisa! I have some questions about wooden wicks and I'm not sure uf you're used to coco apricot creme wax but my wax gets a brown then turns black midway through the jar like lower half no matter what wick I use... are whisper+crackiling burn cooler than a booster?

    • @khloe38
      @khloe38 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@marieeleanorbejar6231 Did you figure this out? My wax turns brown as well. I use a coconut wax. I was told coconut wax can easily overheat and that was why the wax can turn brown. But I'm curious if Melisa experienced that with her wick and wax. I notice the whisper wicks looked lighter in color than the wick i use from another company and was wondering if the whisper would make a difference.

    my cotton wick and wooden wick does not have a stable flame, what may i try ? i even tried soaking my wooden wick over night in fragrace oil, it burns okay.. but what can i do for dancing flame?

    • @ArmatageCandleCompany
      @ArmatageCandleCompany  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Dancing flames aren’t necessarily a bad thing and are even kind of expected since the local air movement near the wick is pretty active, especially in containers. Instead, double check your flame isn’t higher than 3” and the container walls aren’t hotter than 150°F.

    I get that there are so many different wick combinations, but I’m wondering is there a baseline video for beginners.. like A place start …such as an eco 14 candle wick will work with a specific fragrance, wax combo, and certain container. So like a person that’s new and beginning would have a “specific one example”. I’m not asking for like the whole line of the products that people use because I understand it’s all about trial and error but just like a starting point would be really cool.. Thank you 😊

    • @DaytonaBleach
      @DaytonaBleach 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This was also my issue with woodenwicks, especially for a company that specializes in selling wicks, wax and containers. They could have a baseline formula that works with a certain wick using specific wax for specific container size. Candle making is way more complicated than I realized, just wish there was a bit more guidance that way for beginners. I guess the fragrance changes everything also but a baseline formula would be nice. So glad I found Armatage I want to take their course now.

      I’m new to this and this makes complete sense to me! I wish there was someone who says here is the Container here is the wax and fragrance and your wick. And abracadabra you have a candle that works completely fine and you can eliminate all the testing.

    It's hard to make the argument for relying on the consistency of wood wicks, when the biggest complaint against wood wicks (industry wide) is their lack of consistency. @33:30, (as you yourself point out @7:47).
    If Makesy suggests that their wicks are 'pour-ready', (@33:59) then they should offer refunds for those wicks that prove to be inadequate. Or....you could run some oil-soak tests!
