A few things: 1) As a kid I loved seeing Big John Studd since he was such a big monster 2) As an adult, John Studd does not seem that much bigger than many of his opponents. 3) As an adult, John Studd was a terrible wrestler. Slow and lumbering in the ring and not exciting to watch at all.
Only Studd was a WWF guy. He was a rental here when WWF allowed talent to work in other promotions.. JYD, Duggan, and Neidhart had not been to Samford, CT yet. Andre went everywhere up to mid 84 before Vince ended talent loans.
Studd was in the WWF at this time but they were still exchanging talent with other territories in 1983. That changed by the middle part of 1984.
Yep, Andre was in WWF but went to World Class to battle Devastion Inc. and Akbar.
@@lanceparker4796 Yup the Glory Days of WRESTLING! Lol!
I wish they would go back to it. Using the same talent pool for decades has made wrestling stale.
This match is being brought to you by the letter J.
😄
I see what you did!😹✊🏿
now this was wrestling . nice thanks for posting
I wouldn't be surprised if Vince sent Studd to Texas to get a feeler on talent that may work in the WWF, most notably Junkyard Dog.
That was awesome. I miss those days
Love how Duggan would ham it up.
He’s the Eugene prototype

Jyd died in car wreck
@@br549junior Yup! Sad 😔
Neidhart looked more powerful in standard tights . He looked fat in that singlet
It was the color, the pepto pink without any black looked bad on both of them, made Bret look fat too.
Duggan and the Anvil looked like a team!
Siks
Never realized how thick JYD was.. looks powerful
I saw clips of him in the Mid- South and he was even much more jacked than this! Rare that you see a match full of powerhouses!
Paul boesh owned Houston wrestling. Rest in peace paul boesh.

Need Boyd Piece for a commentator or Mark Lowrance. Crusher Lisowski for a referee.
Did Jim Neidhart originally go by Jim "Need-heart?"
No, that's just what Bill Watts called him. Like he would call Duggan, Doogan.
Hhhhhhhoooooo tuff guy !!!!

It's not that great in America right now. Crime is high and the economy is bad.
Both JYD and Studd had been just released by The WWF and both look great. JYD was having problems with cocaine but he looks good here

JYD and Duggan were the main faces for Bill Watts in the Mid South territory. JYD had not gone to the WWF at this point. He left about a year later.
What?
Cocaine had a Junkyard Dog problem
