My girlfriend, my brother, and sister were in this section 10 days before you guys went through it! It was a blast...even though that blow down had me using some colorful language, in lots of new ways. This was my girlfriend and my second trip through, first time from LL to LP and the second was reverse. I will say, starting in Lake Placid made the hike easier for us, as the Ayerville to Moose Pond section is the most difficult...getting that out of the way first was a blessing! We may do this section again next year, or, if timing works out (and funds) we could be on our way to the John Muir Trail. Glad to see you two had as much fun as us, and maybe one day we'll cross paths on the trail!

Great vlog! We own a camp on long lake and I made the sign that you showed marking the distance to Plumleys point. Planning to hike the trail up to cold river and camp near Big Eddy this summer. I can't remember if lean-to 3 or 4 is closest to the Eddy.

A good inlet stream is just a few yards south of the Moose Pond LT and right on the trail; no need to whack down the hill to the pond itself.

I keep meaning to section the NPT. But the campsites are so far apart I'm not sure I can get it done in the time I have and at the pace I go. Great vid.
