One thing-story wise is their happier/brighter songs often have them sleeping. And the “Open your eyes” comes up again multiple times. The Neverland feel is intentional here. Peter Pan is mentioned in Wonderland. Some of my favorite title tracks are coming up-I am curious to see your reactions to those. Will you react to their comeback song on the 29th or wait until you get to it in order (if you want to wait it would be in order after Answer MV).
This song and Wave came out at the same time. And when ateez had announced this comeback, they allowed the fans to vote between Wave and Illusion as to which one is their main title track. Wave won. I like both, but this one is just SO FUN to listen to. I just love this one so much! You guys got the names down perfectly! And so far as I'm listening, you haven't gotten anything wrong to the point where I would say its really wrong. Since you've only seen this many mvs. And I think maybe you will end up piecing a lot more together of the story/concept. I think I've realized that if there is a frame/scene of the mv with no members, then whatever is in the shot is really important. Whether it's a prop that we've seen before (hala masks) or really important symbolism/imagery. What I've seen is that people say this mv is supposed to signify the members as being in a dream world. And I would say definitely has Peter Pan/Neverland influence. I know it might be further on, but I agree with the comment that says you should watch lives to see who sings which part. So far that I've seen, whenever a member is singing their line, they will be highlighted in the choreo or live during their part. I think that's how I got it... matching up the voices while watching the lives. OH, ALSO you guys are so precious. Quizzing each other on the members via thirst traps sometimes. Very nice. Ateez is incredibly talented but their charm lies in their stage presence especially in their live performances. I’ve seen many kpop artists who are very talented in singing and dancing but their faces lack emotions. It was when I watched ATEEZ Wonderland Studio Choom performance that I decided to learn about ATEEZ simply because of Hongjoong’s performance in it. I later watched his fancams mostly those uploaded by MiniHong since hongjoong would recognize this person is attending many of their events to film him and then he would look at this person’s camera in multiple events to make eye contact/wink and etc. which is very nice of him. And ever since he became my forever bias. I watched many of his fancams and in every single performance, whether he’s dancing in front or back, whether he’s performing in a concert or in a small fan-sign event, his facial expressions are 100% on point. Sometimes fancams show you members from head to toe yet hongjoong is engaging to watch even when the fancam is focused on his face (which is incredibly difficult if you think about it yet he does it so effortlessly). His stage presence never fails to amaze me, it’s too powerful. There are a lot of things relating to the storyline. I'm not a deep diver theorist so, I can't tell you much about it, but Im still enjoying the ride. This song is so fun though.

I know some of their songs already but never got into the storyline so watching your videos really are helping me get into them more seriously. I really liked your theories! I don't think there's one definitive explanation of where this MV fits in the storyline or how. Dreamscape and communicating through dreams is a part of their lore but so is hallucinations-inducing gas so it can go either way depending on which version of Ateez we have here and at which point in the story (I personally think it's our Ateez maybe stuck in a dream in which Halateez are trying to reach them before they talk for the first time). It's worth remembering that back then all signs were pointing to Halateez being bad guys, maybe Ateez's adversaries. Before you watch Wonderland (or after, but before you forget details of Illusion and Wave) make sure to watch the pre-comeback stage VCR for it, you'll see why th-cam.com/video/-vphfDnAQDk/w-d-xo.html Lore aside, I really, really love this song and MV, it's just pure joy and particularly on Hongjoong, it's one of my very favourite Ateez stylings.
