    Please stop telling people how good MSC Yacht Club is, we don't want it getting booked out!! My wife and I (Australians) have cruised six times on MSC in the Yacht Club and absolutely love it. Transatlatic from Brazil to Italy, repositioning Dubai to Genoa, Med x 3, Caribbean, and our next one is the Red Sea in February next year. Luxury on a budget!!!

    I recommend the Aurea experience. Not as expensive as Yacht Club but it has many of the same benefits. Priority boarding, dine whenever you like in the dedicated Il Campo restaurant with your own private table or if its quiet a special area of one of the larger restaurants. Cabins with balconies also have better views. Free access to the Aurea Spa. Bottle of Prosecco and chocolate in cabin on arrival. Towel robes and slippers. Access to the Top Sail solarium. Free room service. Excellent valet service.

    I had a 14 night cruise on the Meraviglia in an inside cabin (solo/single cabin) with a twin size bed and I had plenty of room for room service every day, breakfast every day and dinner many days. I don't like balcony rooms because I seldom sit out there. I've tried before but it's just too windy or hot. I have booked 3 cruises in the yacht club interior cabins for next year, and looking forward to them. If I get an upgrade I'll take it, but I won't be on the balcony. Hello! This is the kind of video I was searching for! So thanks for doing this. I booked last minute on Meraviglia and obviously most of the cabins are sold out. Got the offer to upgrade to interior suite with YC access and was debating as the cabin looks tiny with not having any couch but not even 2 seats for us 2? Is definitely better value the busier the ship is going to be. When we did the non-yacht club balcony cruise, it was during Covid and the ship was not very busy so there was plenty of space in the public areas and around the pool. When we did yacht club on the second trip, the ship was really busy and I was not envious of the people stuck in the crowds at the buffet and in the pool area especially. So I think that’s when the yacht club really pays off. It’s getting you out of the crowds. Some of the MSC boats can I have really long waits for drinks at some of the bars, especially around the pool. Hope this helps.

    I seem to be the only person that didn't think YC was really worth it. I have done a Fantastica balcony and a YC balcony on this ship (within 3 months). I just didn't think spending more than 4x the cost for the YC was worth it (for me). Yes, the room, privileges and open bar (in that order) were great, but I expected more elevated food. Yes, there were more upscale choices, but some of the selections, and always the soup, on the YC menu were also served in the MDR and available on the buffet. That was disappointing.

    • @tnptravel
      @tnptravel  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It really depends on the cost, doesn’t it? There is definitely a price point at which I would rather either just go regular fare, or, if I want to spend 4x the fare, might spring for a more upscale cruise line!

      When we did the standard balcony the ship was not crowded, so there was lots of room on the ship. We felt we didn’t needed the private sun deck and other private areas. When we did the yacht club the ship was very busy and crowded. So we were really glad we had our sanctuary. So I think it depends on the ship, the season. If I went again now I would go yacht club because I hear ships are very busy.

      No. Tips are paid at the end of your cruise and you will be given a bill for them. Some may choose to tip in the dining room for extra special service, but this is optional. I think it is more common for people to leave an extra tip for their butler. If you really put them to good use. was the Yacht Club appropriate for kids?

    • @tnptravel
      @tnptravel  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not sure. I don’t think that the private sundeck and pool area is very good for kids since there is no shallow end in the pool. I think kids would be better off at the main pool where you can be closer to them in your sunbed, but it may be different on other ships. I also think there were many more kids at the main pool than the yacht club pool, add so kids would have more opportunity for play with other kids at the main pool. Our kid is all grown up now, but when we did cruise with her, the buffet seemed like a better fit than a more formal dining room which is what you get in the yacht club so we could dine at her speed, give her a good variety of food, and have a more relaxed experience.

My first meal in the MDR on the Grandiosa I had a bland, watery soup that tasted like a powdered soup rather than fresh made. My beef was a slice of slow cooked roast that was stringy and tough to chew, and greasy. Broccoli florets were over cooked and mushy. My wife had a pasta that was cooked nicely and the sauce was fine. Nothing to complain about but nothing great. Presentation was poor on both. They look like they had been slapped together without care. Based on the poor reviews I had seen and with this experience, we abandoned the MDR for the rest of the trip. Poor choice of food in the smaller yacht club, and too crammed pool area. We ended up on the main ship for all the activities and food.
